FINE Fence

Great experience. Mike was very professional and very quick to provide the information I needed for the HOA's approval. The fence looks great!

I was looking for a 2nd quote immediately and Mike came out over the Labor Day weekend which I was very pleased he responded very quickly. Received my quote was that Monday. I was waiting on my 3rd quote. When received, I emailed Mike back and forth with questions, which he answered timely and with honest responses. Mike matched the 3rd quote pricing which I was very please and happy with. As soon as I told him I wanted to go with Fine Fence, he booked me the very next day. I was in contact with my neighbor during the process and he said the workers were great. They did an amazing job and I am so, so very HAPPY with the finished product. I would and will recommend Fine Fence to my neighbors and friends. A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!!!

The company was very responsive and helped us through the whole process, including permits and utility marking. They installed the fence in a day, around a large yard, and the quality is great.

Fantastic! Mike came out right away, looked at our idea for the fence design, procured black locust posts for us at a rate equal to pressure treated and, shortly thereafter, installed the fence in one day. He did a first rate job. I highly recommend Fine Fence!

The fence looks great! The installed a new cedar fence in my backyard. I have a weird shaped yard because of the placement of retaining wall, and they had great suggestions for how to run the fence. It was installed in one day, and it looks great.

They did excellent work. I have two small dogs that can fit through small spaces. They not only did an excellent job on the fence but also worked with me to make sure that all gaps were filled in (small gaps that normally would not have been an issue).

These guys did a great job. Mike walked me through all of the options/prices and there were no surprises. An experienced crew worked hard and fast to do the install. Whenever I saw an issue or had a question, the owner or the job foreman resolved it to our satisfaction. Would definitely recommend these guys to others.

Very smooth overall. Owner came to property to assess layout and they did a great job installing fence when we were out of town. They sent pictures to show the work and it was as nice when we finally saw in person. Keeping deer and dogs out!

They came out pretty quick and did a pretty good job overall. They kind of went astray on one little item, but they did pretty well. The service cost about $3200. There were some things I had to get them back to do and the other thing is they said they needed more material, but they ended up not really needing any. I have a bunch of materials sitting here that I think they didn't really need to use. They actually had to come back. They way they put together the gate is where the problem was, you couldn't open it. I was pretty happy when everything was said and done. I would use them again.

The estimator was on time and good, but he started off by explaining that he would be more expensive than everyone else because they would do a better job and do it right. That may be the case, but he didn't have any samples which made it hard to imagine what things would look like and why they would be better than others. I also never actually got a formal quote. He gave me a back of the envelope quote, and maybe I didn't seem enthusiastic, but I never heard from him again. We ended up going with someone else. Perhaps his fence would have been better, but it would have been helpful to have more information on why.

I have worked with many contractors over the last several years. When compared to the others, Fine Fence was in a class by themselves, a much higher class. In addition to the value for the work completed, willingness to modify plans to meet our needs, ability to suggest alternatives the most important was when something did not go right. There was an issue on one of the projects that were completed by Fine. Fine did the total right thing to stand behind their work, even though the issue was created by a sub-contractor. Jeremy was wonderful in all aspects of the project. I would recommend Fine over and over again.

We received similar estimates from two companies, and chose Mike Schaefer's Fine Fence. I met Mike only once, when he came to the property to give us an estimate. After that, we communicated by email and phone. Mike was always responsive, courteous, conscientious, professional and a pleasure to deal with. His men arrived as scheduled, the fence was completed in one day, the job and cleanup were meticulously performed, and the fence looks excellent.

We got very useful advice about fence types from Charle (did original estimate) and Mike (company president). The idea was to exclude deer to the extent possible and they were very forthcoming about the difficulties involved. The fence was installed on tricky terrain with a neighbor's driveway on one side and a steep slope down to our house on the other. Mike was very helpful on the day of installation in finding the best possible line for the fence. The crew arrived on time and were very responsive to our needs to not interfere with the neighbors access to their house since the job had to be staged from their driveway. They worked very efficiently and were finished in about 3 hours. Fine Fence took care of details such as getting the appropriate permit and checking with Miss Utility (neither we or the neighbors knew where their cable and other utilities might be but we assumed they ran along the driveway). The fence (red cedar) looks great. Mike and the company were very easy to work with and clearly cared about doing a quality job.

Neat, professional, punctual

It's a strange job because it was partial wood privacy fence and then a 6 foot no climb livestock fence that needed to work with existing 4 foot, 3 board pasture fence. New poles needed to be sunk for the livestock fence and the wood fence was built from scratch. This was all to keep the dogs contained but not to obstruct the amazing view. The fence looks great. The crew were really hard workers. They got it all done in one long day. Mike the owner is a laid back handshake kind of guy, very personable and he was able to schedule my job so the fence was installed the day before my move. Ive very happy with my fence and so are my dogs.

Previous consults and estimates were obtained from 3 other providers, however, I wanted a fence with some color - cedar rather than pine, so re-visited Angie's List and found very high ratings for FINE Fence. I received a confirmation email that they'd be in touch and soon after, a consultant (Jeremy) came out to measure and talk about what I wanted. He took his time measuring and discussing. My decision to give him a deposit that day was based upon getting the fence I wanted for the same price, and compared to 2 other quotes for less cost which included clearing some shrub branches/roots at rear fence line; it was also based upon Jeremy's extensive experience, as he had worked for another well-known fence company (over-priced and just looking for the sale - I'd used the other company to install some metal fencing and gate on one side of my house to enclose for dogs). I felt Jeremy was more concerned about quality and customers. I emailed a few days later to ask when I would be scheduled and received a phone call from Mike Schaefer (Friday) that crew would be there on Monday. The crew worked into the evening until the job was done. The cedar fence looks beautiful and has immensely improved the looks of my backyard as the metal anchor fencing can no longer be seen, nor the unkempt yards of 2 neighbors. Now I can think about planting shrubs and flowers and making it my own. Thanks Mike and Jeremy! Thanks crew for all of your skillful, neat fence installation!

It was a pleasure dealing with Mike and his crew. The fence encloses about 2 acres of our back yard, and looks awesome. The job was completed in only 2 days time. I highly recommend Fine Fence, and would use them again for any future projects.

This is an outstanding company. From the first contact (via Angie's list) to the estimate to planning and execution in the final plan, Mike and his crew were responsive, punctual, professional, courteous, and efficient. Emails were answered with in a few hours. The estimate was easy to set up. Mike and his crew were punctual for the placement of the fence. The terrain was a little challenging yet they completed the task without problem and in the time promised. The final product is absolutely stunning!! Their prices are competitive (and far less than one rival company). Fine fence uses high quality materials and their workmanship is outstanding. Highest recommendation for this company!!

Everything went extremely well. It was a pleasure to work with Mike. I'm selling my home and I needed to have a fence installed quickly and he was able to schedule me for the very next day. When he came out to give me an estimate, he provided me with all my options and even gave me reasons why I might not want to install a fence. After several rain delays, the Fine Fence employees arrived to take out the old cedar fence and install a new one. Mike's team was excellent! Not only did they install a good looking board-on-board fence, the qualify of their work was very good. They pulled out a lot of unwanted ivy growing on the old fence, cut down a small unwanted volunteer tree hanging over my shed, and replaced a couple gate boards which were damaged also! I have received many compliments from neighbors and passers-by
