FINE Fence

Description of Work: 6 foot privacy fence around the perimeter of the backyard, pressure treated pine, with 2 cedar gates (1 8-ft double, 1 4-ft single), ~290 linear feet.

Description of Work: The entire property was fenced. A six foot privacy fence on three sides and a picket fence on the other side. The work included 2 gates, a garden gate on the picket side and a wide gate on the privacy side. Treated wood was useded for the posts which were sunk and cemented into the ground. The actual fence was cedar.

Description of Work: Erected a wooden 6-ft. high fence around our property.

Description of Work: Mike Schaefer and his crew did an outstanding job on the replacement of an old wooden fence with a new vinyl one. They completed this job in one day and left the property clear of any materials. They even washed the mud off of the sidewalk. I was impressed how quickly and efficiently this job was completed.

Description of Work: We needed to replace the fence in our large backyard, while also watching our budget. After checking the various contractors, we decided on Fine Fence. We had checked Long Fence's prices, and they were very high. Mike is a joy to work with. We discussed various options and Mike was always obliging about changing the specifications. I was afraid he'd lose patience, but he didn't. They were very efficient. The crew came out a few days after we agreed on the estimate, and installed the fence in one day. My neighbor, watched them put in the gate, was impressed, and he hired them for his job a few days later. I love this company!

Description of Work: I had a large back yard fenced in. I called and it was installed within a week and a half. They did excellent work and would definitely recommend them to every one. Mike was great to do business with and they were about $500.00 cheaper in their prices too, with high standards of workmanship. I recently got a dog and she loves it also.

Description of Work: Mike and his team did a great job installing a privacy fence in our backyard. It was 48 feet long (there were six 8 foot sections), and it was a PVC fence that had no gaps. It was comprised of huge sheets of white plastic with grooves in the plastic to look like boards. Shrubbery had to be removed all along the existing fence (which was not removed because it straddled our property line) so that there would be space to access the spots to install the fence. Mike's team spent 45 minutes trimming our hedges in order to accomplish this. Additionally, a jackhammer was needed for about 15 minutes to break through some concrete paving that was in the way of the new fence posts. The team also poured concrete in the fence foundations and brought all the scrub brush/clippings to the front yard where it was picked up on our next weekly city recycling service. Start to the finish the crew was done and gone in just under 3 hours -including all the prep time. They did a fabulous job and the fence looks way better than we thought it would, as the white background behind our flowering plants and bushes is just going to POP come springtime. Mike initially came to our house to talk over ideas for a backyard privacy fence. At that time we weren't really sure what we wanted: did we want pressure treated pine, which was cheaper, and which lasted 20 years, but would tend to warp a little, and provide little gaps between the boards? did we want Cedar, which was more expensive, and which looked great, but would only last 12 years without sealing? or did we want a PVC fence, which was the most expensive, but would look great on both sides and would last forever? Well, what decided the issue was that we wouldn't have access to the back side of the fence and wouldn't be able to seal it ourselves (which would make it last longer, so we ended up going with the long term solution, the PVC fence. Mike then came back to our house to do a remeasure (since we decided to extend it by one more section) and this required a requote because we were now going to have to install posts through some concrete. That done, we were eager to have the fence installed as soon as possible as our current weekend was free, but not the next couple of weekends. Mike was willing to schedule the job for a Saturday (only 3 days later), but when the weather forecast said it would rain all morning he was willing to have it installed on Sunday, instead. Mike then asked permission to bring equipment and tools to the job site the day before so that the foreman could survey the job with him present, and everything could be prepped and ready to go. The day of the job I was told work would start at 8. No one showed up until 8:45, but it was done within 3 hours. I actually didn't need to be there at all, but I felt more comfortable doing so in case any neighbors had questions or concerns. There were no issues and I didn't interact with the crew except to thank them when they were done. (Mike was not there the day of the job, which was fine, because the foreman was briefed the day before.)

Description of Work: We replaced about 150 feet of 6 foot tall fence. The old fence was badly decayed and had to be removed as a part of the project.

Description of Work: We had approx. 175 feet of fence installed in the back yard (75 feet of which was with locust posts and wire and 50 feet of which was a straight wood fence, 4 feet tall with two gates.)

Description of Work: Called, got an estimate, haggled a little over price, come to an agreement and braced myself for a long wait. WRONG!!! Mike Schaefer (owner) had a crew and materials at my house BEFORE our agreed time and got started. They had the fence installed in about seven hours. I was very impressed. They had to remove some rocks that were in the ground (big ones) in order to put in the posts. Jack hammers were at the ready! I was very pleased with the work, attention, quality, stick-to-it speed that FINE CONTRACTING did. I highly recommend them.

He was the only one that reviewed our location drawibg in detail and quoted us a price on where the fence should go versus where we thought it should go. No other comapny could be bothered. Mike and his team installed a gorgeous cedar fence enclosing in our back yard.

Description of Work: Fine Fence replaced an old picket fence with a 6' Height Alternate Board Fence with Dip and French Gothic Post Tops Using Pressure Treated Pine Post and Frame. Also replaced an old deer fence on the left side of my home with 6' Height All Black Vinyl Coated Chain Link Fence. Also removed old material.

Description of Work: Approximately a 100 ft by 40 ft area (just a guestimate) of our backyard was fenced in using a 6 foot tall, shadow-box style cedar fence with 2 access gates.
