Chimney Sweeps-Sherwood Forest

They returned my call promptly. Dave came out the next morning, looked over the chimneys called me at my office. We went over everything he thought that was needed to correct and improve the brickwork and caps. Also told me what he could do to prevent further problems. Gave me a very reasonable quote. I said okay and when did he want to start...he said he was free all day so he did the work right then. Just before I was leaving my office Dave called and said he had finished the job and he went over everything he had done plus some things to watch-out for and their warranty information. I called the company paid over phone and by the time I got home all was done and you could see the improvements from the driveway. I climbed up on the roof and the chimneys look like new! Thanks guys

The installer, Micah, was very professional and installed the free-standing stove. they also coordinated with the company that installed the propane tank and the county gas inspector.

Very professional. Fully explained the issues found and recommended we do not use the fireplace. Presented options on how to fix issues. Was not pushy at all. We will be using them in the spring/summer to waterproof our chimney and install a woodturning stove.

This was the second time we've had CSSF come out to our house. The first was 2013 right after we bought the house. At that time they came out and cleaned/inspected both of our chimneys, and provided a detailed explanation of the condition of the wood stove, that was original to the house (and it was old!). Days later we had them install a new, up to code cimney liner and a new wood stove. Their recommendation on wood stove type, size and brand for our purposes was spot on. Throughout the season they came out to clean our chimney and always did a great job. Quick, timely, professional and very clean! They never left a mess, in fact you couldn't even tell they had been here. In the fall of 2014 we called them back to replace an upstairs fireplace insert from the 80s with a new, more efficient insert. Again, they were fantastic. They recommended another stove for us (and not the most expensive one, just the most efficient and correct size for our space). They corrected an old chimney problem during the installation on this, second chimney, fixed the brick work, waterproofed and recapped the chimney, and cleaned the first chimney because they were already up there. On this particular day, the repairs were lengthy and it poured the entire day, but they worked right through it! Despite the weather they took the time needed to do the job correctly and completely. They always answered our questions (even the silly ones) completely and even days later when follow up questions popped up. They were never late. they stayed within the quoted price, they were professional, neat and tidy. I will use this company over and over and over.

After several estimates, we decided to go with Sherwood Forest. While they were not the cheapest, we felt they were much more careful about providing detailed information on the job. Where other companies simply provided an estimate, Sherwood Forest took the time to explain the code requirements and their recommendations. We had several questions about the job and the office staff were willing to assist in answering the questions. The job entailed lining a fairly tall and old chimney and they took good care in doing the work and the workmanship seems good. The staff on the job site were professional and knowledgeable.

They Installed a wonderful new energy saving direct vent gas fireplace that heats house without the heat going up the chimney. It heats a huge space and saves big money on the heating bill as creating a beautiful ambiance

Excellent installers, they really knew what they were doing. Obviously had years of experience. My only complaint, I had to arrange/pay for the removal of by install gas logs.

They were very prompt and everything was fine. They did what they had proposed to do and we didn't have any problems with them.

This company proved to be completely incompetent - not once but twice the entire poured chimney liner ended up covering my historic dining room floor do irreparable damage. They damaged my roof and gutters and roof vents. The fireplaces draw so poorly I rarely use them any more. I was in a hurry to hire someone and didn't do my homework - a huge mistake. Stay away from this company.

Very clean, well mannered employees. Would definitely hire them again. They said they had been in business for several years, but the new owner took over 3 years ago.

On time, 2 guys came, it took about 2 hours to do the work.

Estimator was on time as was work crew. I would hire them again to install fireplace inserts.

THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB. I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW UNPROFESSIONAL THEY WERE, I STRONGLY DISLIKE THEM. THEY BLEW ME OFF FOR THREE DAYS AND IT TOOK ME CALLING THEM NUMEROUS OF TIMES FOR THEM TO RETURN MY CALL. ON TOP OF ALL THIS THEY DIDN'T EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM.
