Do not do business with this company. They have displaced my family for more than a month with no floors or bathrooms and still have not completed the work. The first time they refinished wood floors they were improperly sanded, they mixed the stain with polyurethane and called that done. It was 5 different colors. After complaining about the wood floor they asked for payment in full of the entire project, wood floor refinishing was a tenth of the total cost and they had not even began installation of tile. The owner sent his friend over to “verify” the work was improperly completed. The owner’s friend showed up and stated he would not be providing a report. We obtained our own independent licensed contractor to fix their shoddy work and provided a report that showed they did not remove the original varnish, did not sand or fill correctly, did not apply stain evenly, did not allow stain to dry and applied or mixed poly with stain. They tried to refinish wood floors in a total of 5 hours and called it completed. After we asked why they would not complete work then they back peddled and sent a different crew to refinish floors a second time, starting the process over again. Second time was better but wood floors were sanded again and you can only refinish wood floors so many times. Wood floor refinishing took 3 weeks. The tile was to be replaced the following week. The crew showed up and demolished floors then realized they had the wrong tile. Tile was ordered, took another week- no floors, appliances or toilets. Week later installed tile just to realize they were short 7 boxes of tile (nearly 100 sq ft) another week to get the rest of the tile. Did not mix the color into the grout for grout in first two room, instead of beige it was white, instead of pewter it is white. Had to remove the grout in kitchen, then grout again. The initial grout was not removed completely, looks better than white but not good for freshly installed tiled and this was another delay, after the tile was completed had a plumber install toilet to find out they broke the flange. They said they would install the toilets; however, did not trust them so I had my own plumber do it. Thank goodness I did or they would have just sat the toilet back on. We are still waiting for transition pieces and molding to be installed. They have a different crew do this work, that team showed up and tried to put vinyl to carpet transition pieces for wood floor to porcelain tile flooring. This was tilted and had a 1 inch drop off (since it was for carpet) my wife tried explaining this was not right and the installer was offensive to her, he said to her “I’m not asking you, I want to hear from him”. He did not want to hear from a woman then said he did not have time or the material to complete work so he left. Job is still not finished. Do not use them, they are awful and difficult to work with. They have delayed our entire renovation with mess ups for over a month.

It was a great experience. They were everything I had hoped they would be. They redid stair treads and stained them match the flooring. Happy that the flooring holds up with having 6 big dogs. Scot Harris was a pleasure to work with!

We are very happy with the product. The job took longer than we were told due to an incorrect product being ordered, but Bay Country Floors was very accommodating and resolved the issue to our satisfaction. The installers did a great job and were very professional. I would consider them in the future for another project.

We remodeled our kitchen and replaced our flooring in our kitchen,eating area, and family room. We worked with Scot at Bay County and he was professional,patient , and helpful. The process went well from the purchase through the installation. Scot coordinated the install with the Cabinet Discounters team. We will use Bay County again.

Scot at Bay Country Floors was very helpful and patient. He explained the products and helped us to choose quality products within our budget. Scot provided samples that I could bring home in order to see what worked best. The installers were very professional and did an excellent job. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again in the future.

Because of the size of the job (family room, long hallway, breakfast area, walk-in pantry, kitchen, and closet--all with added feature strips and, of course, molding), I was originally told the job would probably take two days. The installers arrived around 9 a.m, and they surveyed the job and explained the process, which involved removing carpet from the family room and gluing down flooring over all areas. Chris Arch arrived shortly thereafter to touch base with the installers and with us. He wanted to make sure there were no further questions. He also made a suggestion about how to lay the flooring in the family room; he suggested laying it in an opposite pattern than in the other rooms. I had not considered this option, and I deferred to his expertise and was delighted with the end result! As the installers worked consistently throughout the day, they explained each step as they proceeded and issued advanced warning when they needed to block certain rooms in case something was needed from those spaces. The installers worked until they completed the job in one day; they worked until 8:30 that nigh! They then did a terrific job of cleaning up when they finished the installation. They were communicative, hard-working, and meticulous. Most importantly, my floors look beautiful, and I'm a happy gal! Oh, and I've gotten lots of compliments on the floors already. I wholeheartedly recommend Bay Country Floors.

We had an engineered hardwood flooring with "hand-scraped" finish installed in two rooms. This is the 4th job I've had them do, and as with the three previous ones we couldn't be happier. Be sure to see Chris Arch at the store; he's no-nonsense, polite, and helpful. Dealing with Chris was refreshing: he's not old, but he exhibits old-school professionalism.

Bay Country's price for carpet and installation was significantly more reasonable than the quote received by another Frederick area flooring store. Chris and Mark were very helpful in the carpet selection and quick to provide a quote and schedule an installation date. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the installation date had to be postponed at the last minute by one day. The two installers arrived mid morning on a Saturday and worked steadily until the job was completed about 9:00 pm. They took care in the moving of furniture, removing the old carpeting, and cleaning up. I also recently purchased kitchen flooring from Bay Country and am very pleased with the quality of the tile for the sale price.

We recently moved to a home in Mount Airy and were unfamiliar with the area and local businesses. I had just joined Angie's List to look for a hardwood flooring company, but had not chosen a company yet. By chance, my husband and I went to a local restaurant for lunch after we closed on our house and saw Bay Country Floors next door. We saw their Angie's List sticker in the window and I recalled seeing them in my search, so we went in to see if we could get an estimate on some extensive flooring work we needed to have completed before we could move into our house. We met Chris from Bay Country Floors, and he was absolutely amazing. He actually came out to look at our house that same day, within the hour of us meeting and talking with him. In addition to that, when he found out we were new to Mount Airy and were in need of some contractors, he took the time to actually call a landscaper for us and he found us painters to paint the interior of our house as well. He went above and beyond for us and we sincerely appreciated that! When Chris came out, he took all of the measurements, looked at what we had and what needed to be done and he listened to what we were looking for, including the fact that we wanted to change the stain color and had something particular in mind. He immediately took note of the rotted wood in the dining room and knew what to do to make it look great again. (A previous contractor said that they couldn't do anything with the rotted wood and that we would still see the black spots in the floor when they were done.) He also told us that there were two different hardwood flooring types installed by the previous owner (one was beveled and pre-finished with a glossy finish, and the original floor, which was damaged, was not beveled and was more of a matte finish). He explained how the refinishing process would work on the two floors and that it was possible that we would see some slight beveling after the sanding of the newer floor, but that once it was all stained and completed the flooring would match very well (which it does). I was immediately impressed with his honesty, knowledge and desire to do the job correctly. Also, his friendly and helpful attitude really meant a lot to us, being new to the area and all. Chris helped us pick out the tile for our bathroom and helped me choose something that transitioned well from the hardwoods in the hallway to the tile in the powder room. He also steered me in the right direction when choosing the carpets in the upstairs bedrooms. The flooring turned out great! The bevels in the newer floors were almost completely sanded smooth and you can't tell that there were ever three different floors on the first floor of the house. The red oak is stained in Gunstock, which picked up the red of the wood and gave us exactly the color we were looking for. The finish looks like a matte finish and it's beautiful! The carpets look fantastic in the bedrooms and the tile floor looks great too. I recently had a friend over who has had experience having her flooring stained and refinished a few times, and she absolutely loved the floors! I would definitely recommend Chris, and Bay Country Floors to anyone. We will most definitely use them in the future.

My experience with Bay Country Floors was excellent all around. o In choosing the floor, they stayed open after closing to allow me to browse the selections with no pressure. o The price for the product and installation was better than an inferior grade through home depot. o They were ready to install in a very short time after ordering. o The installation crew was meticulous in preparing and repairing the concrete underneath. o They were so precise in matching the complex and irregular stone pattern so you cannot see the seam unless you know where to look for it, and then only if you get very close. o They cleaned up after themselves. I definitely will be a repeat customer for my other flooring needs.

Great, the estimator was great & wonderful even when we had to reschedule the installation because our renovation wasn't quite finished!
