Description of Work: Don was terrific in quickly coming up with a low-cost solution to a problem I have asked other contractors about. My staircase down to the basement was open on one side, with no railing or wall to prevent falls. Don immediately came up with a suggestion for how to add a railing. Moreover, I had just had surgery and could not manage the stairs without a railing. Even though it was just a week before Xmas, Don came back 2 days later and put up the railing so I would have access to laundry etc as I was recovering. I am extremely happy with both the work done and the timeliness.

Description of Work: Installed 3 grab bars provided by me in shower. We spoke on the phone and I learned he could provide the stainless steel grab bars at a good price but if I wanted either brass (goldish) color to match rest of bathroom fixtures or white to match the tile I should purchase myself and he would install. Arrived at appointed time and installed grab bars. While he worked I asked about types of improvements he could do in our home if additional modifications are required in the future. We may need a railing for front steps in future and he can do that. This improvement has made it much easier and safer to help an older person get in and out of shower to the shower chair!

+ -1 moreDon installed a Bruno chairlift in our house in early 2012. He had been recommended by a friend and I felt we got good value and excellent service. After a few days, there was a minor adjustment problem and he quickly came out and fixed it at no charge. Recently we had a problem with the charging contacts and he fixed that problem at what I felt was a very reasonable cost. Overall, I feel that Don provides excellent service at a quite reasonable price.

+ -1 moreI think the review above covered the details of the work but as I said, from a discussion to what kind of toilets are available which Don directed me to check online, to his ordering, pick up and installation, I was extremely pleased.
Description of Work: I am an amputee in a split level house built in 1972. We have decided to stay in our house and make as many improvements as possible to remain here. I have used Don Stackhouse for railings, then two chair lifts and yesterday a new custom height toilet which he installed. It is a blessing for me to be able to lower myself to a height that is more reasonable. He came in, removed the old toilet and installed the new one in what I thought was record time. He is very pleasant and personable whenever we have had conversations about possible solutions to my problems. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs safety bars or other improvements made to their home.
