Description of Work: Quality Insulation did a phenomenal job on insulating my crawlspace and attic in my older, smaller, and cramped DC rowhouse. I am 100% happy with the job they performed and could not recommend them higher as their price and quality are both great.

Description of Work: Dan came over a few weeks ago and took a good look at our attic space. It's a 30' x 60' attic with about 50% floored and 9' of head room. We had minimal insulation (50 year old house) and experienced a LOT of huge, dangerous icicles after the big winter storm in January. I asked about insulating under the floor. He said that they could blow and compact insulation directly under the floor, then blow insulation onto the un-floored area, bringing everything up to R-49. He then suggested that we might want to get some rolls of insulation batting and add that to the floored areas where we don't need storage - like over the bedroom areas. He said it would be easy and less expensive for us to do it ourselves then having him do it. Since the floor joists are now filled with insulation, adding additional insulation rolls to the top will not cause an issue. We decided we can do that later. | |One of the best things he offered was to move a lot of the unwanted "stuff" that we had accumulated up there over the past 15 years out of the attic as part of the process. Dan's three assistants quickly emptied the space and took it all to the garage where it awaits a Friday trash pickup. The charge for the removal was $250 and part of the overall total. | |I got an estimate from another company that was highly rated on Angie's list, but they do NOT blow insulation under the floor and simply cover everything with a layer of loose insulation. And, unlike the other estimator (different company) that I got another estimate from, Dan made sure all the older recessed lights were covered and sealed with proper protectors. He had included that in his original estimate and the other company didn't even address that issue. | |His team was efficient, polite and tidy. There was no mess left behind. I wasn't sure what to expect up in the attic, but it looks amazing now. Lots of fluffy pink insulation at the eaves and under the floorboards which will hopefully keep the house cooler this summer and warmer next winter without issues with icicles.

Description of Work: Dan provided an estimate the same day I called and was able to schedule the work for later that week. They removed old, damaged insulation, blew in new insulation in my attic, and repaired some holes they found as they were working. The men came on time, were incredibly neat, covered all floors they needed to walk on as well as furniture. I was very pleased with the work.

Description of Work: Dan came by to provide a recommendation on attic insulation/ventilation. While he didn't provide any services, he was on-time, professional and honest. The main reason I am writing this post is because I wanted to point that he didn't try to upsell any services or work and told me that my attic was fine as is. I would recommend Dan to anyone even if it just for another opinion.

After receiving a very high estimate from a pest control company to remove and blow in new insulation, I searched Angie's List and found Quality Insulation had an A rating by a large number of customers. Dan (owner) responded to my email almost immediately, came out the next day and provided a very reasonable estimate for the work. (We had previously received a MUCH higher estimate from a pest control company). They came out within a few days to do the work. They arrived on time and completed the work in a couple of hours and cleaned up completely afterwards. The final invoice included before and after pictures. I would highly recommend Dan and Quality Insulation. They are professional, responsive, and thorough all at a very fare price. The house feels warmer already!

Description of Work: I recently used Dan to put blown insulation in my attic as I have almost no insulation. I picked him because he had nothing but As on his Angie's List profile and I see the reason why. He was responsible, called me on time, showed up at my door and showed me his DC license and business insurance even thought I never asked him but he said it is the right thing to do with his customers. He explained to me what he would do if I hired him and gave a price. I decided to go with Dan and he and his crew showed up on time the day the work was to be performed. They were professional, respectful. Did not make a mess whatsoever. Dan was there awhile to monitor the work even thought his crew knew what they were doing. I would HIGHLY recommend Dan be used for anyone looking to insulate their attic.

Description of Work: |The owner is Dan Roberson, who came to our home examined our existing insulation, noted the inadequacies of the R-values in the problem areas of the attics, measured the square footage, explained where different types of insulation would be required for target problem areas, and developed a price quote on site. Dan was extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough in answering all my questions and highlighting issues which I needed to consider. A few days later Dan's son Ryan came to oversee the installation process, leading a team of three really good insulators. I was amazed at the small spaces they got into to put in foil-backed, rolled and blown-in insulation, bringing the existing inadequate level up to R-49, and sealing outside walls as recommended by Dan and other independent sources. They did two attics and a separate adjoining part over the garage to insulate the top of the laundry room. As promised, they arrived promptly at 7:30AM and were finished (including a spotless clean-up) in three hours. Their work was designed to eliminate any possible inconvenience or discomfort for us at home while they insulated. They covered the floors and steps with tarps, and blocked the entry window for the insulation hose to prevent heat loss. The results could be felt that same day, and sub-freezing (single-digit) night. They did an outstanding job! After watching them work, I'm sorry I didn't get this done years ago. Description of Work: It went extremely well. They worked fast to blow in the insulation into the upstairs walls and ceiling and finish up in less than one day. They also insulated the large area under the kitchen above an unheated garage and closed off a number of holes in the basement walls. Also they cleaned up after themselves very well. The house is noticeably warmer, nice and cozy. No problems at all. I would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Attic and dormer insulation was upgraded. Quality Insulation provided much more insight and a considerably broader range of capabilities than others considered for this job. This was a rental property with a very demanding tenant whom was totally charmed by Quality Insulation workmanship in a situation which had a lot of potential for faulting finding.

Description of Work: I called Dan to get an estimate for the suggestions in the energy audit report I got for my house. Dan came to my house and reviewed the report thoroughly with me. He also inspected the entire house and gave me some advice on how I can do some of the report's suggestions by myself. He also called right away the handyman that he uses for his own house and asked him to help me for some repairs. At end the estimate for his job was $300. I had also an estimate from another company for the same job for $3950. Yes $3950! Dan is among those honest professionals who are very rare these days. I would use/recommend this company to anyone based on their helpfulness and professionalism.
