Quality Insulation

Dan was a godsend. Our house was freezing. Our pipes froze and we were miserable. He went above and beyond to seal our house from the elements. We noticed an immediate difference and the insulation helped to unfreeze our pipes. I would wholeheartedly recommend him for any insulation work you need done.

Dan was accommodating to my schedule even after I changed the service date with little advance warning in order to have some ceiling fans installed first. Dan provided an estimate without inspecting the inside and stuck to it. I knew I had lots of air leaks in the basement from a previous home energy audit. His team used some 9 cans of two-part foam, in addition to other insulation on the furnace and exposed ducts. His work and team were professional and covered exactly what I requested at the agreed quote. I'm very pleased with the work and improved house warmth.

They did a lot to make it the most energy efficient possible. We thought their price was reasonable. We had a very quick response in getting an estimate. They were courteous, helpful, and cleaned up after themselves. They did it efficiently. The owner was very knowledgeable about his product.

Our house is much more warm and toasty! There was no evidence of mess any where. We are responsible for patching the hole in the ceiling ourselves, we were well aware of that before starting the work. They were timely, polite and efficient.

Initially, Dan said he wouldn't be able to come out for a visual quote because we were in Centreville, but he could come do the work because we got his name off of Angie's List (he was also recommended by our energy auditor). I tried to describe our house (which is contemporary and unusual in how it's laid out), and gave him approximate measurements of the largest part of the house. He asked to see the energy auditor's report and so I sent it along to him. He asked to come by on Sunday to take a look because it was so unusual, and he updated his quote. We scheduled for Tuesday, and he arrived really close to the time he estimated - he called ahead because the beltway was shut down to let us know he might be late. He and his team went over everything that needed done, and then they started laying drop cloths and got to work. There was one area which he wasn't able to get to as planned, but he and his team cut another hole and were able to blow in the insulation. The only trip up was that two of the drywall pieces were thrown out and were damaged, so I was unable to easily fix the holes. Dan was very apologetic and tried to retrieve them from the trash without success.

Dan responded quickly to my request for an estimate and scheduled the work on the day I requested. He and his crew were 30 minutes early for the job, they put down drop cloths and plastic in the work area, and they worked quickly (the entire job was done in 4 hours) and meticulously, without leaving any mess behind. They had to cut a hole in the ceiling of the finished attic and into one kneewall to access the space behind it -- they did an extremely neat job and I was very surprised and how small the holes were (they did not patch and paint, but Dan told me ahead of time that they would not be doing this, and he referred me to a painter to finish up the work). Dan and his son also spray foamed some areas in the basement, free of charge. The work was so neat -- we can see the reflective insulation in the dormers, and it was installed with great care and all of the seams are straight and smooth and the work looks fantastic. I think he ended up using more materials than he has anticipated, but he didn't charge us any more than the original estimate he gave us. Dan is also just the nicest guy and he answered all of our questions and is wonderful to talk to. I would absolutely recommend Dan and Quality Insulation to anyone.

Dan and his crew did a great job. They kept us informed at every step and were exceptionally clean in every aspect of their work. I would highly recommend Dan and his company for any similar work. Dan even brought my wife a poinsettia as a peace offering because they showed up earlier than planned!

Overall a very good experience. Request for an estimate was responded to immediately, workers were in my house within 72 hours, all the work was done promptly and professionally, and the bill was just what they said it would be. I like the amount of personal attention owner Dan Robeson gives to each case. He is a business owner who clearly understands the importance of satisfied clients and made every effort to ensure my needs were met. The work team made extra effort to overcome numerous obstacles that are inherent in an old home. While Dan was sceptical they could do much for the utililty room due to its inaccessibility, his team squeezed and crawled to insulate virtually the entire space. They did have to saw a hole in the ceiling to access the crawl space and Dan referred me to someone who was in my house the next morning filling the hole and painting the ceiling. I'm confident you'll be equally pleased.

I can't say enough about how professional and courteous Dan Roberson and his crew were. They arrived exactly on time, left no mess whatsoever, and honored their original estimate even though it wound up being low for the job. They provided us with a form for this year's energy tax credit, which I would not have known to ask for. Dan stayed with the crew and was monitoring their progress the whole time. He remembered to do all the little things we had asked for (i.e. insulation batts around our attic air conditioning unit to make it easier to get to) which I have found is rare in a contractor. Two thumbs up!

This company did a marvelous job and were very professional. I paid a couple grand for the audit, but it will save me a lot of money overall. I will use this company again.

Quality Insulation is absolutely terrific -- one of the best contracting experiences we've had. Dan (the owner) arrived within 24 hours from my call to provide the estimate. The day of the job the work crew arrived on schedule and Dan stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the job from start to finish. When they encountered an unanticipated issue with how our dormers were constructed (something that couldn't be identified at the time of the estimate -- our areas were enclosed so they had to cut into the wall, which obviously couldn't be done prior to the job), they just fixed it and moved on to complete the work on schedule. They were unbelievably clean (especially given the messy nature of the work). Dan even bought me lunch that day! We did a final review of the job before they left and I had never been happier to pay a contractor. But the best part was yet to come. I reviewed the work with Dan before they left and thought it looked great. When my husband came home that evening he also couldn?t believe they were done and loved the work. The next day we went back upstairs and this time noticed an area under one of the dormers that we wanted to have sealed a bit more. Honestly, it probably was fine but it just didn?t look quite as neat as the other dormer. I called Dan to see if they would come back to take a look at it. He said absolutely, arrived within a few days (he asked to return on a day when he had other work scheduled in our area) and his team completed the finishing work we wanted done within 15 minutes. I was stunned ? I mean, really, how many contractors will return to attend to a detail after you?ve paid them? Seriously, if you need insulation this is the company to call.

Job went smoothly, done on time, very clean and good worksmanship

Dan was prompt, both with the initial estimate and the installation, calling a few minutes beforehand to let me know he was on the way. He explained in detail what he was going to do and why. The work was done neatly, with sufficient protection around the area to keep dust and other particulates from the rest of the house and all the debris removed and carted away during installation. I now await lower heating bills! Many thanks to Dan and crew, and I will be referring him to my neighbors.

Called Dan Roberson on Friday. He asked for measurements. By Sunday, he promised to arrive around noon and install the insulation. Dan accompanied his crew and completed the task in under 3 hours. He did a lot of extra work, installing leftover insulation that had been stored in the attic to insulate between the roof joists. He added foam where appropriate. I contacted Dan because of the reviews on Angie's list and did not request any other bids. However, I believe I got my money's worth with exceptional service, a neat and clean installation and many little extras. I highly recommend Quality Insulation.

I appreciated Dan's quick response to my phone or email inquiries. He answered several questions and explained what they were doing and why they were doing it throughout the job. He stayed until the job was completed. He also filled several leaks around the house between the basement and the first floor with foam insulation. He filled out a form for a tax deduction for this work.

I found Quality Insulation on Angie's List after conducting an energy audit and receiving two estimates from contractors from other referral agencies. I had some concerns about the estimates I'd received and felt uneasy moving forward. Dan was extremely thorough and respectful in his explanation of his own recommendations and why they differed from his competitors. I was impressed by his attention to detail, obvious expertise, and his price was right on target. I called Friday to schedule the job and Dan's team arrived on Monday as promised. Dan stayed with his team during the entire job and worked alongside them, while explaining to me what they were doing and why. He also performed work not included in his estimate, such as weatherstripping, sealing, caulking and even gave me extra materials and packaging for the future. In the end, my leaky old house now feels like a well-insulated fortress (and it's even cleaner than it was before his team arrived). Quality Insulation went the extra mile for us and I'm thrilled to recommend Dan to anyone doing this work. I'm only sorry I don't have more houses for Dan to insulate!

Dan's crew performed the work the very next day. He was there the entire time during the work. They were able to insulate the entire crawl space in a little over an hour. They cleaned up everything and Dan showed us the work after it was done. He also inspected other areas of our house and used foam insulation in a few spaces in the unfinished utility room and a small hole we have next to our ceiling fan at no charge to us! He even left us an extra can of the foam insulation just in case we needed it. There were no surprises throughout the process. He provided the necessary form for us to get the tax deduction for using environmentally safe and energy efficient insulation. All in all, it was an easy and stress free experience. I would definitely recommend Quality Insulation.

This is a "can do" company! Where other companies said they couldn't do it, or that I'd have to basically reconstruct the house, Dan's approach was "we will figure out a way," and they did. Dan and his team performed the work in less-than-ideal conditions and successfully completed the job quickly and effectively. The team was professional and efficient. They put drop cloths down and were excellent about clean-up and leaving the place in just as good of condition as it was when they arrived. Highly recommend.

They were punctual, their quality of work was good and their price was very fair. They came when we asked them for an estimate and came when they said they would do the work.

Dan came by and gave a quote the day after I called him. Within a few days he was able to come out and do the job. In total, the work took four or five hours. Despite running into a few peculiarities about the way my attic was constructed (which created much more work than anticipated), Dan stuck with his initial quote. Dan's crew cleaned up very well and did not leave any mess. Initially, they did not plan to need to cut a hole in my ceiling, but they ended up having to. Dan called a competent repairman who came out that same day to fix and paint over the hole (for a very reasonable charge).

Dan, the owner, explained the attic insulation process, the features of the insulation, and clearly takes a personal interest in his work. The crew was tidy, professional, and Dan inspected the work. The crew also patiently worked with me to find a parking spot on my busy Capitol Hill street.

Dan and crew arrived on time, completed the job within a few hours, and cleaned up very well, leaving no trace of anything. We were very pleased with the work, and the price/insulation quality was very good. Would definitely use Quality Insulation again and recommend them to others.
