Quality Insulation

They were fantastic and they are super people. They did a great job. They did it when they said they were supposed to and they did it for a great price. They did some things that needed to be done and they didn't charge me for them. I would highly recommend them. I had them do an estimate and the guy promised they would do the work before the end of the year because of the tax credit. He had a wonderful work crew that was very neat and clean. They were courteous and friendly. He figured out some creative ways to insulate some things that other people said couldn't be insulated. Between the estimate and the time that he came to do the work I discovered another hole in the attic that led to part of the attic that had no insulation and needed to be insulated. He decided that he would insulate that for the same price that he had given me originally. It was a lot more work. He was very creative. He originally thought he had to make a hole in the ceiling and when we discovered the other part of the attic he didn't have to do the hole so I didn't have to worry about having it repaired later. He was very diligent in explaining how he was going to put in some foam to insure that the walls got a little warmer. I have been recommending him to all my friends. I didn't get any other estimates. I think his price was fair.

Dan responded to an email request for an estimate by phone within a couple of hours. He was very professional and polite. We decided to use another company instead of Quality Insulation because the estimate was a little over our budget.

They are rated very highly on Angie's List. He was the only person I could get to give me an estimate. They are super efficient with their work and really quick. It was amazing how quickly the work got done and they were very neat and tidy.

I liked working with them. The work was more expensive than I thought it would be, but they were less expensive than the other company. They did the work very neatly, which was important to my wife and I.

I fist contacted Quality Insulation by phone and described the serious problems I had last winter as a result of ice dams. The owner, Dan Roberson, very thoroughly described the possible causes of the problem and the appropriate solutions. He asked me for the size of my attic and gave me a detailed quote for adding the additional insulation. I scheduled an appointment for Quality Insulation to do the work. On the scheduled date, Quality Insulation arrived precisely on time. Dan's son, Ryan was there to supervise the job. Ryan took me up to the attic to take a look at the situation. After determining that my soffit vents were not blocked, and rechecking the attic size, Dan explained exactly what the process would be. He explained that they would leave an area directly adjacent to my attic furnace, that has plywood flooring, accessible to allow for future furnace service. His team then covered all my carpets with drop cloths and brought the insulation blower duct through a second floor window so that they could keep my front door closed, and minimize any cold air entering my house during the process. Once all of the new attic insulation was blown in, the crew installed batt insulation around the attic hatch to minimize any insulation falling into the bedroom when the hatch is opened. Dan then invited me to go back up into the attic to inspect the job before they left. When I went up into the attic, I was "blown away" with what I saw. The new, white insulation was perfectly blown in to a consistent, level amount, over the entire attic. The attic looked pristine. There was no insulation that had been blown over the furnace. The plywood floor around the furnace was spotless. I was amazed. About a week later, I had my yearly preventative maintenance done on the attic furnace. As soon as the service technician went into the attic, he immediately asked me who did the insulation? He said that he had never seen an insulation job done so well and done so neatly. He said that he expected to be cleaning insulation out of my furnace. There was none. This turned out to be a job well done by a very professional company.

Dan was responsive every time I called and provided a fixed price before he began work. His team worked into the late evening to finish the job and cleaned up after themselves. The team replaced the insulation in a crawl space beneath the room with 10" of fiberglass. They also lay a moisture barrier down over the earth and sprayed sealing foam in several cracks. They sprayed in several inches of foam above the room in the attic to reach R49. We will see if the room warms up.

When I had my home inspected before I purchased it, the home inspector noted that I was as low as R-7 for insulation in my attic in areas and that the DOE recommendation is R-49 or approximately 18 inches of insulation. Quality Insulation came out to do an estimate and he confirmed this when he inspected the attic. The price was reasonable and we scheduled the project about two weeks from the date of the estimate. On the day of the work the crew of five arrived and set up professionally. When working in the attic they determined that I needed a vent from a bathroom exhaust fan, they went out and purchased one and installed it at no additional cost to me. The project lasted as long as estimated and was completed to my highest satisfaction. I would definitely recommend Quality Insulation if you need this type of project done. They even provided me with the form needed for the tax credit. Great job!!!

All of the great reviews on Angies List are what lead me to call Quality Insulation. Sure enough, Dan lived up to these reviews and even exceeded in some ways. Dan and I first spoke on the phone, where he did a great job listening to my initial concerns, answering questions and describing the process for installation. He gave a very clear and practical description of the installation process, followed by a very fair price. Dan was straightforward and honest the entire way through. On the day of the job, Dan's team was punctual and kept the job site clean at all times. Dan's team were courtious and friendly and respectful that we had a young kids at the house while they were working. There was absolutely no mess from their work, and they even helped me with some basic repair on the ceiling drywall where I had nearly put my foot through the ceiling patrolling around in the attic before they arrived (my fault not their fault). Some drywall screws in the right places helped a great deal. We also asked them to do a little extra weather stripping around the front door (at a very fair price). Results of the project were great. Immediate impact. Our heat no longer runs all day and night and I have to believe we'll see the results in our energy bill. House is quite and cozy. Even with the energy tax credit expiring, I would recommend that everyone upgrade their insulation if they can. Makes a huge difference in the house. Overall, hiring these guys was pretty much a no brainer.

Both jobs went well. The Robersons were pleasant, respectful, and personable. The crew was careful to not leave a mess.

Dan listened as we explained our situation, made his recommendations and gave us a quote. This was all done by phone and email. We accepted Dan's quote and he had a team out to our house within a few days to replace the existing insulation (that was the wrong kind, wrongly installed). In addition they sprayed foam around some gaps that they observed and laid down plastic sheeting on the ground. By that afternoon, the addition was 10 degrees warmer - without adjusting the thermostat. Dan's team were thoroughly professional and pleasant to work with and everything was done as advertised. They made other suggestions (like putting foam sealers behind electrical outlets) that would improve our situation. We will be asking them back in the near future to look into an additional insulation issue elsewhere in the house, and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

Dan, the owner had given me an estimate over the phone, based on my estimate of square footage and existing insulation. He and his crew showed up on time, first thing in the morning, and while the crew was beginning to set up, Dan thoroughly explained what they would do and the measures they were taking to keep the house clean and damage free. Dan remeasured the house, and we both agreed on the measurement and price, which he put into a contract. The work itself was quietly and efficiently done with only a little loss of heat due to running the hose and electrical wires into the house. Before installing the hatch to the attic, I was invited to inspect the job, which I did to my satisfaction. The crew finished with insulation over the hatch and cleaned up completely. During the job, when Dan had to briefly leave, his son Ryan came to supervise the job. It now seems that the house is holding heat longer and the furnace is not running as often, but it's too early to be sure. I was very pleased with the service and the price.

It went very well. The guys showed up on time and were very nice and professional. Cleaned up well after they were done.

My energy auditor will be coming to check his work. In terms of how he was when he did it and working with him I was very pleased.

Wow! Great service. I have used many, many contractors over the years for projects/renovations to my historic home and Quality Insulation is one of the best service providers I have ever used. The owner, Mr. Roberson, was able to drop by my house a day or two after I called to take a look at the job and provided an estimate right away. He was very polite, friendly, arrived on time, and obviously knew his trade. This job was a bit more complicated than most -- a water pipe froze & burst and it was in a very difficult location to access. He was thorough in his assessment and took time to figure out the best way to access the area and insulate the pipe, as well as what materials were appropriateto use for this particular job. During our conversation about the frozen pipe, Mr. Roberson asked if I had contacted my homeowner's insurance agent to file a claim. I had briefly considered it earlier, but thanks to Mr. Roberson's advice, I called my insurance company. It turns out that they will cover the damage from the frozen pipe and are sending me a check for about $4,400. THANK YOU Mr. Roberson for pushing me to call my insurance agent!! As for the installation job, everything went very well. The guys arrived a little late due to a previous job, but they stayed until 8:30 pm to finish the job as promised. They were thorough, friendly, and cleaned everything up when finished. I will definitely use Quality Insulation again. Excellent service & value!

I previously had used Dan's Quality Insulation in March to blow noise-reducing insulation into my bedroom ceiling, and I hired him again to put the insulation throughout the rest of my apartment. The insulation doesn't make my apartment soundproof, but it has made a huge difference with ambient noise, for which I owe Dan my sanity. Dan is incredibly professional and friendly, and his team worked later than expected, until 9pm, to get the job done so that they wouldn't have to come back the next day. They also were very careful in laying down drop cloths and in cleaning up after themselves when the job was done. My only complaint is that I left work early to be home by a 12:30pm appointment, and Dan called at 12:40 to let me know that they would be late an hour or so because they had been delayed to start the day; it would have been good to know about the delay at least 30-60 minutes ahead of time so that I could have stayed at work longer. Nevertheless, it was a very positive experience (again), and I highly recommend Dan and his team. Update: After this occasion, it sounded as though the insulation hadn't worked in spots. At no cost to me, Dan sent his guys out again, who spot-checked, found a few places where piping and air ducts had blocked the insulation, and filled in the gaps. Throughout, they were courteous, professional, and efficient. I wish everybody stood by their work as much as Dan and Quality Insulation!

Dan and his crew really exceeded my expectations. Dan is extremely personable, professional, and seems to go the extra mile. His estimate was all inclusive and he added a few small, but considerate things like a seal for the attic access without charge. He also offered to review the basement for areas that might need insulation. Dan also counseled me on the energy efficiency tax credit program. Very impressive.

Owner/manager Dan responded within days of request to come and give us an assessment of the insulation we needed, and to provide a written cost estimate. He spent time with us--unrushed--in looking at the house and providing recommendations. He did not conduct an energy evaluation, which we were willing to consider. He came with his crew to install the insulation 10 days after his visit for the estimate. He supervised all work done. The team was courteous, efficient, and left no dust or dirt after finishing the job. Not cheap, but excellent job!

Quality Insulation did a fantastic job. Dan Roberson is the owner and does the estimates; his son Ryan came with the crew the day of the work. Everyone was very personable and knowledgable. The crew was late due to traffic, and they called me in a timely manner and kept me apprised of their estimated arrival, so I was never wondering what was going on. Ryan was very easy to work with. It was an easy, painless experience from start to finish.

I decided to use a company recommended by the energy auditor (DeVere Insulation) instead of Quality Insulation.

Great! Dan showed up for estimate at scheduled time, then crew (plus Dan) came when scheduled to do the work. They did the work in few hours, no fuss, no muss, and cleaned it all up. I recommend him highly.

He provided a thoughtful and unhurried walkthru with me to evaluate insulation needs of my home and any warm spots that I was noticing. He was honest about what was needed and also not needed. He left me with an estimate to consider. I decided to proceed with the work. The day that the work was scheduled, Dan and his team arrived on time and completed the work in the timeframe given. The areas were well protected and cleaned afterwords. Dan supervised his team and made sure that I inspected the work and was fully satisfied before they left.
