Excellent job performed. The crew arrived on time and it took the estimated amount of time to perform. Great company. I will recommend to my friends.

The job went very well, very organized routine, with teamwork and efficiency.
Description of Work: Insulated attic, protected whole house fan from the materials, protected soffit venting, tented trap door to keep materials from dropping down. Very clean, wore gloves, meticulous cleanup after service. Price determined by square foot, rather than a list of "add ons". Owner operator present for services, photographed the level surface, depth up the trusses, complete coverage of HVAC ducts and chase.

I just moved into this house from a part of the US where we don't really use air conditioning. I got a bit worried when I noticed that the 2nd zone upstairs pretty much ran 24/7 and wasn't really getting the inside temp down below 80 during the hot days. I called emailed Dan and explained what was going on. We ended up chatting on the phone and he had me go take a look in the attic and give him a run down on what I saw. Based on that, he told me that increasing the layer of insulation should do the trick, told me how to measure and how much it would cost per square foot. I really liked this, as it saved us both time and energy and enabled me to get an "order of magnitude" cost pretty quickly, without having to wait for a visit and estimate. We scheduled an appointment, and Dan's team, led by his son, showed up promptly (actually, early). They validated the measurements and went to work quickly. As they looked around, the checked the dormers through the access and recommended the foil. Dan came by and gave me a quote for it, and we agreed to install. In the end, they found that the dormer rounded a corner we couldn't see and when ahead and did that area as well, but didn't charge me for it since he had already quoted the price. Overall I'm happy with the whole experience. And the benefits of the work are immediately apparent. The temperature never got above 76 during the day, and the AC has been running significantly less.
Description of Work: Dan's team blew insulation into my attic bringing it from 3-4" to 19". They also installed reflective foil material into the dormers to help with the insulation value.

They were prompt, clean, courteous, and fast. I would not allow anyone in my attic at high temperatures, so they came at 7:30 a.m. when the air was still relatively cool. They finished 3 hours later. A great job.
Description of Work: They put fiberglass bats in part of the attic up to R49. In the part of the attic we wanted to use as storage - and so not have cellulose blown in there - they used high R reflective flooring. Then, they used foam to seal all the remaining holes in the attic.

I had an estimate from Wellhome to do this work but called Quality Insulation for a second opinion after reading all the glowing reviews about them here on Angie's List. Dan Roberson called me back right away and we scheduled time for him to come give me an estimate a few days later. He arrived promptly at the appointed time and gave me an estimate that was about $500 lower than Wellhome. He cares deeply about Angie's List referrals and is willing to do what it takes to maintain the company's good standing, so I felt confident I'd get a quality job from an accountable team - and for a better price to boot! I also like giving my business to smaller local operations whenever possible. The job was scheduled for 2 weeks later (they could have done it sooner but I needed time to clear out my storage areas so they could get in to do the work). Ryan Roberson and the work crew arrived on time. He went through the house with me and confirmed what they'd be doing. They completed all of the work in a little over 4 hours and cleaned up after themselves. When they were finished, Ryan showed me all the work they'd done, including "before and after" pictures, and gave me the paperwork I'll need to get a tax credit. Overall I was very satisfied with the price, professionalism, quality, and responsiveness of this outfit. The work was just completed today so I'll have to wait to see if a change in my energy consumption is reflected on my next bill from Dominion, but I have no reason to doubt it will be. Based on my experience as of this point I would recommend Dan, Ryan and Quality Insulation without hesitation.
Description of Work: Bring attic insulation to R-49, install reflective insulation in knee wall along 3rd floor of my townhouse, foam where necessary, install weather stripping on front door.

I found this company on Angie's List, and called owner Dan Roberson to discuss my needs and his proposed approach and cost. I was able easily to schedule the job for the first day convenient to me. Dan, his co-owner (son Ryan) and four workmen arrived promptly on the appointed day, scoped out the job, and started in. The four separate crawl spaces under my house extensive (nearly 1400 square feet, as noted above), are very difficult to access, have minimal headroom (in most parts about 3 feet clearance), and are uneven in surface (crushed stone, and several areas of old concrete slab). I had been under the house the week before to remove assorted lumber, old tires, scaffolding and other junk from the crawl spaces, and found the area exceedingly unpleasant and difficult to crawl around, much less work in. The 4-man crew worked steadily throughout the day, and elected to continue until the job was finished early evening rather than wrap up the following day, as Dan and Ryan offered. When they were done, I crawled under the house to inspect their work in minute detail. I was mightily impressed with the thoroughness and quality of their work throughout. My experience with Quality Insulation was outstanding from start to finish, and I could not recommend them more highly.
Description of Work: The company removed the old, most fallen down insulation from four separate crawl spaces under my house, totalling nearly 1400 square feet. They then installed a thick plastic ground cover on the crushed stone flooring of the crawl spaces, and applied a foam sealer around the perimeter of each crawl space (where the crawl space walls meet the underside of the house floors). Finally, they installed R-19 insulation between the joists, so that the underside of the house flooring would be 100% insulated. They removed the old insulation, and left the entire worksite clean and free of any debris.

I sent an e-mail request via Angie's List asking if Quality Insulation installed insulation that would help with the sounds that travel from my upstairs neighbors, and Dan Roberson got back to me right away - on a Sunday from his vacation! Once he returned, we set up a time for him to check out my ceiling and give an estimate. The estimate was thorough and fair, and having already spoken to some other companies I knew I didn't want to go with, we set up a time for te installation later in the same week. Ryan Roberson, Dan's son, arrived with his crew at the agreed time. They got right to work and worked through until it was done. They cleaned very thoroughly, and helped me move some furniture back into place. Everyone was pleasant and professionnal.
Description of Work: Quality Insurance installed Climate Pro insulation in the ceiling of one third of my basement level condo. This required them to cut 4" holes every 16" or so across my drywall ceiling. The insulation was then blown in to the holes and along the entire length of the area. They then replaced the drywall "bits", securing them with drywall screws. It is up to me to spackle and repaint, but the work is such that it's not an immediate need.

Owner arrived and gave a very reasonable estimate; scheduled insulation to be blown in one week later. The next week, the owner's son arrived with a crew. They were punctual and professional and completed the job in about an hour. After completion, the crew lead let me go into the attic and inspect the job myself. I've never had insulation installed before, but the process was painless and seemed reasonably priced. I also got the proper paperwork for my tax credit. I'd definitely use Quality Insulation again.

Quality installed a reflective insulation barrier in a dormer area adjacent to a recently remodeled bathroom. The renovations disclosed a lack of the proper insulation in that area that caused the room to be very warm due to heat transfer through the wall..Quality's representative listened to my description of the problem over the phone and gave me an estimate of what it would take to provide a solution. The personnel who came to install the insulation were courteous and made sure that the areas they worked in and around were clean when they left.

We've had many contractors in and out of our home over the past year since we bought the property last May (kitchen renovation, insulation in attic, painters, carpet, insulation... and more). The "Roberson Team" have been one of the best contractors we've had - only wish all our contractors had the same core values. When Dan arrived for the estimate he showed us his license and insurance, provided options, explained the process, and refused a deposit stating he would only get paid if we were happy. His team arrived on time, wore protective equipment, and the manager stayed on site the entire day. We were very impressed with their work ethic and client service. I only wish they did more than insulation. We highly recommend them as their price was very reasonable (not the most expensive or the cheapest of the five estimates we received). They didn't try to oversell and completed the project on time and at budget. They were extremely easy to work with.
Description of Work: Removed and bagged the old insulation and vapor barrier from two large crawl spaces. Cleaned the space from damage done from a raccoon living in the space. Replaced vapor barrier with 6 ml, provided an air seal package (providing foam in cracks around the perimeter), and installed new R-19 insulation.

I previously used Quality Insulation to insulate my attic. D/t extensive work in my attic, both electrical and a new HVAC air handler, much of the insulation was moved around. As far as scheduling, they were quite easy. I emailed Dan and gave him the dates that worked for me. They showed up on time and agreed to charge me by the bag. It ended up costing me $600. I was surprised there was that much damage. The original job was $1750. They did a nice job. Cleaned up after themselves. No issues. My wife was here for the application and said that Dan's son Ryan did the work and was very professional. I went into one of the attics (I have 2) and their work look excellent. I would recommend them.

Job went very well. Dan and Ryan Roberson who are the owners of the company were fantastic. Dan came and gave us an estimate and answered many questions. He discussed the type of insulation and the amount based on the R-19 and R factor rating system. We scheduled the job the following week. he also referred to us an electrician to see if our attic fan needed to be replaced. it did not. when Ryan and the crew arrived they promply began the process of blowing in the insulation. the were very efficient and completed the job in about 4 hours, cleaned up everything and left the house spotless as it had been before they came. Ryan showed me the job and it was more than I was really expecting as well as getting a tax credit. As they were blowing in the insulation I could immediately feel the difference by the way the AC was working. This was done on a hot 88 degree day. they way the job was finished off blew me away. they are the best

They were good. They called right away. They got back to me as early as possible after rescheduling a routine. They made sure things were taken care of. They gave me a discount as they said that because of them the routine had to be rescheduled. They didn?t charge me for the labor. They charged me only for the material. They were professional. I have called them for another job but they have not called me back yet, that?s annoying. I would use them in the future.

I expected Quality insulation to be knowledgeable and professional (which they are!) but I was surprised at how helpful and honest they are! I asked Dan to quote me a large job that would have been fairly expensive; instead of quoting the job I expected - he patiently taught me how I could do it myself for about 1/5 the cost. He recognized that I was handy around the house, and took the time to explain a different (and potentially better) method of insulation that I could install myself. I was floored - he was turning down work! What a pleasant surprise to meet someone genuinely trying to be helpful rather than just trying to make a buck. I'll definitely go back to them if I ever need any more insulation done. There was another portion of the house that I could not access, so I had him blow in some insulation in that area.

Showed up right on time. Was very careful to put down tarps so not to dirty rugs or any part of house. Insulated entire attic, aproximately 1500 square feet. Increased insulation to 20 inches, prior to this there was about 4 inches. The difference was noticed immediately. The second floor was actually cold now, vice 80 degrees before the insulation was installed. The price was higher than all the other estimates I got, but I hired him because of all the good Angie List reports. My only other comment was that they did not take out any old duct pieces or other old boards or trash sitting up there, they just blew insulation over top of them. In hind sight, I would take out anything or move boards around that you don't want covered up by the insulation. I would certainly hire them again, excellent job.

Description of Work: Quality Insulation blew in insulation into my condos ceiling to make it more soundproof. It has substantially reduced the sound transmission from the upstairs neighbors. The process took about 4.5 hours start to finish. It doesnt make the room completely "soundproof," but has drastically reduced noise from above. Given the little money and time I spent on the project, I am very satisfied with results and performance. It makes the condo a lot more livable.

Excellent. Dan was very good at communicating when setting up the estimate, he arranged a time when we were able to meet, he arrived on time, he explained the process and cost and he is thorough, friendly and professional. We decided to use his company the day he came out to do the estimate and he scheduled us for later in the week. His crew is friendly and hard-working and they finished the work earlier than Dan estimated. When finished, they showed me the work they had done, Dan inspected to make sure it was correct and everything was clean (it was) and he even helped me re-hang the curtains I had removed this morning (they pumped the insulation through a bedroom window which was close to the attic access). * We had a few companies come out to estimate the cost for the same process and even though the other estimates were a little cheaper, we chose Dan's company because he was easy to schedule, his communication is clear and timely and he is friendly while being very professional---the other companies lacked these qualities. Within a short while we were confident he was the best choice to complete the job. * Dan also recommended Chis Ecker, who we will hire for electrical work that needs to be done in our home. A few days before today's job we hired Chris to install an attic fan. When he came out he spent an extensive amount of time studying the structure of our attic (interior and exterior). Though he came completely prepared to install a fan he decided it was not the best solution for the attic structure we have. He spent additional time examining electrical issues we have and explaining the set up & structure of our house and he completed an estimate for work needed. All of his information was incredibly helpful, very generous and honest---we will have him back again for work. I highly recommend hiring Dan & his crew at Quality Insulation.

I had an energy audit performed that identified air leaks in my attic and basement and found that that attic was missing insulation or under insulated. I called quality insulation and spoke with the owner Dan. Dan informed me that he could stop by and inspect the attic or he could give me a quote over the phone if I told him the area that needed to be covered. I told him the attic was 900 square feet and he gave me a quote for insulating the skylight, sealing the air leaks, and adding insulation. Dan was able to schedule the work for Friday the same week which was great. Dan arrived right on time on Friday with his son Ryan and a crew of three other guys. They started by laying drop cloths through the house and putting plastic up all around my attic access to prevent dust and insulation from getting out. Dan was really great explaining everything they would be doing and the various materials they were using, I felt very confident about the whole process. Dan estimated it would take them 3 hours to add all the insulation which included putting up high R value reflective insulation on the walls that didn't have any insulation and using blown insulation to fill in everything else. When they were finished they took me up to see everything and if was amazing. They even made sure that there was a barrier around the attic access to prevent insulation from falling out when it was opened. They finished right on time and they left no mess behind.

This has been by far the most stress free home improvement project I have ever worked on. Dan is incredibly responsive and professional. After having another company fail to show up for an appointment for an estimate, I called Dan. He came by the next morning to give an estimate and scheduled a time to do the work the following week. He and his workers showed up on time and finished early. They left the house clean. I am fully satisfied and I would recommend Dan's company to anyone.

Got an immediate response from Dan Robertson to schedule a time for an estimate, other companies either did not respond, said it was too far/not a big enough job, too expensive or responded after we had the job done. We had an independent home energy audit done on our home the prior year so we knew insulation was needed and the problems with all the escaping air in the home since we purchased it two years ago. Dan was ontime for the estimate and after showing him the attic and basement he understood what our needs were and gave me the price and date they could do it the following Monday. My husband had taken approximate measurements and when Dan remeasured there was a $500.00 difference in price - in our favor. In talking with Dan he knew that we would not be using the attic for storage or building up there so he designed the job so that we would have some storage area with radiant barrier and the rest would have maximum insulation blown in. His son, Ryan showed up on time with the crew on Monday morning. They put down covers over our carpet and stairs to the attic. It took 3 hours for the entire job and cleaned up afterwards. My husband checked the work with Ryan as I needed to leave for a dr. appt. When I returned I noticed two spots in the garage that Dan and I had talked about, but had no foam. I called Dan, since it was he and I who went over everything and Ryan and my husband were just going from the notes. Dan immediately called back and Ryan returned to fix those areas (turns out the gargage door was up because that was how they were getting into the house and could not see the holes behind it.) Ryan fixed it and I double checked it. He was gone in about 1/2 hour. Since they have been here there have been a few 40 degree days/25 at night. We have noticed that it is warmer in the house in the rooms where our baseboard heaters are emitting heat and that some of our baseboard heaters are not putting out heat so we will now have to look at that, but that is our problem and not caused by the insulation. Someday we will finish our basement and we will be calling Quality to insulate it.
Description of Work: Blown form and radiant barrier insulation in the attic to bring our R11 insulation up to R49. Also blew foam insulation into holes and cracks in basement and garage.
