We see why Dan and his company have such excellent reviews. After speaking to him yesterday he had an opening and we were able to schedule the job for today. The crew was running early! and had everything set up within minutes after they got to our house. Dan and his crew did an enxcellent, quiet and SUPER CLEAN job!!We couldn't hear them perform the work and we couldn't see that they were here because they left the house spotless! Dan was here the entire time making sure his team was doing a great job. Everybody was very polite and friendly and we are so glad we went with Quality Insulation. Would recommend this company to anybody!

We were very pleased with the company from start to finish. Dan Roberson came to our house the day after I called him and was refreshingly straightforward in providing an estimate. He would not bargain on the price but, as he had told us, his crew of three men spent an entire day sealing and wrapping our 65 year-old ducts, not an easy job given their configuration. For us the quality of work was more important than trying to find another company that charged a little less. We chose him because of his excellent ratings on Angie's List and we were not disappointed. We recommend him highly.

I can see why Dan and his team have such great ratings - they are truly superb at what they do. Frankly, after the job was done and my wife and I went up into they attic, we both commented the job looked like it was done by artists - everything was done perfectly, and with attention to detail and obvious pride in their work. Dan was very courteous and thorough in his estimate, The team was very clean and neat, and frankly the results blew us away. My 1964-built single story ranch-style house did not have much insulation in it to begin with, and the a/c was running near continuous just to keep up with the recent high temps. After the insulation, the a/c runs much less (I mean MUCH less) , and the temps actually stay very stable - we could immediately tell the difference. This is the best investment we have made in our house, and I can't wait to see what it has done for our comfort during the winter. Quality Insulation is truly worthy of their A rating.
Description of Work: Quality Insulation applied blown-in insulation to R49 value throughout my single story home. They also laid down a relective pad on the walkway that extends from end to end of the attic, and installed bat insulation in my stairway to the attic.

I met with Dan Roberson to obtain estimates on having insulation blown into the ceiling of my condo. Ultimately I decided just to have one room done, as this one room was an extension that was very cold. He also gave me estimates on putting insulation in the walls and didn't recommend it since it would be expensive with little benefit. I appreciate that he was up front about that. The work was done within a few few weeks. The workmen were timely, efficient, professional and cleaned up afterwards.
Description of Work: I had insulation blown into the ceiling of a bedroom in my condo. They were responsive, the cost was what they estimated, and the work was done quickly and professionally, including a thorough clean-up afterwards.

The owner, Dan Roberson, explained the process very thoroughly. He told us that we could have the blown-in insulation for considerably less than the rolls of insulation, but we followed our personal preferences. We felt that Dan was very knowledgeable about insulation and informed us about the best process for insulation. They arrived on time, finished the job in a timely manner, and cleaned up after themselves - there was no mess. We have felt a difference in the upstairs - it seems cooler now., We have no complaints about Quality Insulation- only accolades.
Description of Work: Quality Insulation installed insulation in our attic. We opted for rolled insulation rather than blown in. They installed attic insulation, repaired the vent screens in the attic, and sealed the air movement of our heating/cooling system. They installed a "tent" over the attic access opening for further insulation.

We called Dan Roberson and set an appointment for an estimate. He arrived 20 minutes before the agreed on time. Dan was a pleasant, knowledgable, friendly man who answered all of our questions thoroughly and honestly. He gave us a competetive price and said he could do the job the following Monday (July 23), so we hired him. As promised,at 8:00 AM Monday morning workers showed up and began putting insulation in the space above the garage ceiling. Dan was here to supervise. He and the workers were consistently polite, pleasant and professional. In the past ten years we have had many people in our home both giving estimates and doing work. The people from Quality Insulation rank with the best. Kate, our 9 y/o German Shepherd, agrees. She found them most friendly. The only possible question mark comes from the point of the job which was to warm up the master bath. We won't know for sure until winter how warm it now is.We're predicticting toasty!

I had absolutely no insulation in the attic of my DC rowhouse and I began gathering quotes for the job after the record setting heat earlier this summer. The first vendor I spoke with spent 2 hours in my house and was full of sales pitches and gimmicks, but didn't actually know all that much about insulation (he had to make several calls to "experts" at his headquarters). Dan from Quality Insulation was up next. He came to my house on a Saturday morning and in 15 minutes convinced me that he knew exactly what I needed and exactly what it would take to get it done. Plus, he quoted me half of the other guy's price, even though he was providing a higher R value and a better product (loose fill fiberglass vs. cellulose). I scheduled the installation on the spot, and Dan did not ask for any money down at that time. Dan and his crew arrived right on time and got to work promptly. They covered everything in my house that could have possibly gotten dirty, sealed off the rooms that they were using to blow in the insulation, climbed into the attic and got to work. Two hours later they were done, and other than the enormous amount of fluffy white insulation in the attic they left no trace of the work they performed. I was especially pleased because I had expected them to have to cut 1 or 2 access holes, but Dan's crew somehow managed to get where they needed to without doing so. This vastly simplified the cleanup and left me with an entire free afternoon! Plus Dan actually charged me less than the estimated price because they didn't have to cut the holes. A few weeks after the installation I can definitively say that Dan's work made a huge difference! Previously my upper floor was always 5 degrees warmer than the lower floor and on hot days the A/C would run constantly and yet could never bring the temperature down past about 82 degrees. Now the entire house remains a constant, comfortable temperature, regardless of the temperature outside, and without running the A/C nearly as much as it used to. I highly recommend Quality Insulation. Thanks, Dan!

Showed up on time(late morning) and they were finished in less than 8 hours. Created this plastic wrap type of tunnel surrounding hole in ceiling and down to floor so any dust got caught on the interior. See above for other comments.
Description of Work: Company insulated a very tight attic crawl space as well as above our Master bedroom in 1940's row home. Fiberglass insulation was blown into the space to bring up to R-49(I believe this is correct) grade. Dan and his crew also cut about a 2 ' x 2' square hole in our bedroom in order to be able to insulate over our bedroom . Originally, they thought they would need to make several small holes several inches apart in order to get the insulation blown into the area, but were able to reach entire space with only one hole to patch. This resulted in a decrease in original estimate which was over $2K. Our original service was scheduled the few days after we lost power in DC, so we were so happy that Dan was accommodating and rescheduled us for the next week. We appreciate this. Very professional, very, very NEAT!! I am 37 weeks pregnant and have a son with asthma . They were super conscientious and I have to say were probably the most neat contractors my husband and I have ever dealt with. Super responsive and super polite. I should also add, that I originally was going to go with a different company who claimed they could insulate the space with cellulose blown in but did not even mention insulating above our bedroom, which would have essentially been a waste of $1,000. We do notice a several degree difference upstairs now . It is much cooler. These days, it is so difficult to find anyone you could trust and would use again. I will add them to the list of contractors we would call again, if needed when we move out of our current home in the next few months.

We called Dan on a Saturday hoping to leave a msg to request an estimate. Dan answered the phone, professionally and politely, and suggested an 8 am estimate on Monday morning. He arrived promptly at 7:55, took a look around and gave us an estimate. The estimate was $1300-$1500 depending on what he found when he entered the attic. (We don't have an attic access, so he was basing his judgment on experience, and what was "usually the case in houses like this.") He was able to come back to perform the service the next day, Tuesday at 1pm. He was on time, his crew was professional and polite, and they cleaned up very well when they were done. The whole process took less than 48 hours, and they were only physically in our house for about 2 hours. A month later we contacted Dan because there seemed to be a discrepency in the temperature of our upstairs rooms. We were concerned that maybe the insulation had not filled the entire attic. We left a message, and Dan returned the call within an hour. Dan came out with the same 3 men who completed the project within 4 hours of the phone call. Turned out to be homeowner operator error of our HVAC system- Dan and his crew had done everything correctly! Overall, we are extremely pleased with Dan and his work. The only dissatisfier (and Dan told us this during the estimate) is that because we didn't have attic access, they had to cut a 12x18 inch hole to blow the insulation into. They cut out a perfect rectangle piece of drywall, which is left intact, but they do not repair the hole after they complete the project. Dan does have someone he recommends to repair the hole for $150.

The overall experience was good. The price was competitive, the crew was courteous, and the work was done timely and professionally.
Description of Work: I apologize that this review is on work performed over a year ago, but I wanted to make sure that my experience with Quality Insulation (QI) was noted. We have a federal rowhouse built in 1925 and the insulation was sparse. We had only been in the house for a year and dealt with a high heating bill in the winter and high cooling bill in the summer. The attic opening is actually in our daughter's room which required an extra heater in the winter to stay warm. We decided to have the attic re-insulated when it seemed that the A/C had been continually running to keep the house cool. We chose QI because of the high Angie's List reviews. Dan Roberson came out personally to inspect our attic space. We contracted Quality Insulation after receiving a competitive estimate and they started work a few days later. The crew, which was supervised by Dan's son, were very diligent about keeping the house clean as they worked. They even sealed off our daughter's room very carefully to avoid free particulate. The attic was brought to R-49 (minimum) standard and they were careful to heavily insulate the hard to reach crawl space towards the rear of the house, in addition to insulating the attic access hatch. The crew even reattached an exhaust vent duct that was found to be loose. That kind of care and oversight is what I value in a contractor. Within an hour of insulating the house, the A/C actually kicked off for the first time in days as the house temperature finally regulated properly. Our heating bills were at a minimum the next winter. I highly recommend this company for your insulation work. Plus, there's a decent tax write-off for upgrading the energy efficiency of your home.

Working with Dan and his team was a pleasure. He was very responsive by phone and email. Dan came out in a very timely manner to provide an estimate. In the process, he educated me on the product and his services and how insulation works in a house my size. Dan and his team slotted me in his schedule and was on time. His team came in and did their job very quietly. For 1100 sq feet, they knocked it out fairly quick and were very clean. They even cleaned out some junk that was in the attic left over from the previous owner. What I like is before they rapped up, one of the installers showed me what they did. Very helpful and professional. Great job.
Description of Work: Dan came over to look at our attic space and provided a cost estimate. He and his crew then added blown-in fiberglass over existing fiberglass in the attic to increase R value to R-49 from not having anything.

Working with Dan was a pleasure. He responded right away to my initial call and we were able to schedule an initial visit for an evaluation. Dan looked at our attic, took measurements of the area, and quoted us a price. On the day we scheduled the job to be done, Dan's crew came on time and began right away laying down drop cloths over the carpeted area and plastic sheets around the attic access hole to prevent insulation from blowing into our house. The whole job took about two hours, very quick and clean. After the insulation was installed, Dan also checked for leaks in the ducts located in the utility room, and taped areas where air was leaking out. Overall, my wife and I were really impressed with the finished work. Dan and his crew were really helpful, professional, and did a really great job.

The day I initially contacted Dan, he was in the area and stopped by to give an estimate same-day. Knowing from previous insulation jobs that the price was competitive, and since he did not require a deposit, we scheduled the work for Friday of the following week. Thursday night, he called and emailed to confirm, and asked whether it would be okay to start earlier than scheduled since there was a heat advisory for Friday. We accepted and by 6:55am Friday Dan and his crew were at the house and ready to get started. The work was completed before 11am. One of the attic spaces did not have existing access, so we asked them to cut an access-sized part out of the ceiling and retain it so we could add some trim and keep the access. They created a little plastic room around the area they were working and thus kept all debris from touching any of our furniture or other belongings. They laid out floor protection from the door up through to the attic access, including the stairs, and were communicative and professional throughout. Nothing negative to say, we were thoroughly pleased with the work. A storm came through that Friday night and knocked out our power for four days; luckily we had just insulated since the house only ever reached 82 degrees in the middle of a 100-degree heat wave without any AC.
Description of Work: Added blown-in fiberglass insulation to two unconnected attic spaces, one of which had existing 4" batt and the other 4" silicone insulation. Brought to R-49. Added radiant barrier between garage and house.

Again, from start to finish, working with Dan Roberson at Quality Insulation was a true pleasure. He and his team were punctual, friendly and professional. They arrived around 7:50 and were done by 11:15. The crew laid drop cloths throughout the work space and got to work immediately. They took every effort to make the installation as painless as possible. I was particularly impressed to see that they had used plastic sheeting to cover the opening to the attic while blowing in the insulation. With the new insulation installed, I can already tell the temperature difference in the upstairs. Great service, great team. Would definitely use them again and will recommend to friends.

They were all very courteous and responsive. Always got back promptly when I had questions ahead of time. They showed up on time, and put down cloth floor protection. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We needed additional insulation in our attic crawl space. They walled-off the skylight and roof-hatch access with some type of firm insulation material, and then used a high-quality blow-in insulation for the rest of the space. The whole job took two hours, and they cleaned up when they were done. We desperately needed some way of cooling the top floor of our three-story row-house, which normally is 3 degrees warmer than the rest of our house during the summer. As soon as they were done, I could feel the difference! The top floor is now the same temperature as the others.

Do's Very professional. Timely. Stuck to the estimate. Cleaned the area affected. Talked me out of spending money in my basement for something I could do rather inexpensively. I read a significant # of the previous referals and was confident, after meeting Dan in his companies ability to properly insulate my home. In lieu of the service performed, I have recommmended him to our neighbors, who were also looking to insulate, but were looking to find a reliable company to do so. I am very satisfied w/the job that was done and will continue to recommend this company!

My experience with Dan Roberson and Quality Insulation was great. Got an immediate phone call from Dan in response to my inquiry, he came to the house to give me a quote on Monday (professionally called to say he was running 10 minutes behind schedule) and he and his crew were back on site today to complete the work. Dan said they'd arrive at 8:00am and be done by 11:00am. They arrived at 7:55am and were out by 10:50am. Drop cloths were put down to protect the floors, the entryway to the attic was sealed with plastic to prevent the insulation from blowing into the house, the hose was brought in through the upstairs window and when it was done, Dan was meticulously sweeping random pieces of dust off the floor as they were leaving the house. I actually said - "please stop that - that dust was there before you got here!". I've already recommended Dan to a friend who was considering the same service and had gotten a much higher quote from Home Depot. Couldn't have been an easier process from start to finish and I am glad I'll never really have to worry about the attic again!

Dan came by and provided an estimate of the work. We reviewed and agreed on a date to provide the work. The amount was exactly as estimated. The crew showed up, did the work in one day, cleaned up, and left. Payment was made by credit card in full at the end of the work day upon satisfactory completion of the job. We're very pleased and would definitely recommend this contractor.
Description of Work: Insulation was blown into the roof of my garage (which sits beneath a study on the main floor of my house). Small holes were drilled at intervals in the roof, insulation was blow in, and the circle cut outs were inserted into the holes. The floor of the study was quite cold in the winter due to the unheated garage below. After insertion of the blown in insulation, the study is usable (and being used in bare feet to write this review) as the floor is not nearly as cold (not warm, but not frigid as before).

The Company was by far the best contractor that I have dealt with during a complete renovation of my house. The initial service call was returned immediately, they listened to what I needed and made recommendations regarding county code requirements, called to confirm the appointment and showed up exactly on time just as had been promised. The work product was high quality and there were no surprises - at all. I wish all contractors hit the mark like Dan and his team at Quality Insulation.
Description of Work: I had blown in insulation installed in an attic space of my home.
