After meeting with a few places I met Don Roberson and thought he was the most up front and punctual of all the places I met with. He said exactly what was going to happen as well as listened to my list of things I wanted addressed. His quote was reasonable but his manner is what sold it. He lives and dies by these reviews and he will do whatever it takes to make sure you are satisfied. He even helped clean up after his guys were done and actually vacuumed up himself. I would recommend him to anyone looking for his services.

Fantastic. Mr Roberson, the owner, came out to inspect my attic in the morning and talked to me about the options and pricing. My attic is small and fairly simple, so he was able to have a crew come by the same day to perform the work. They took several extra little steps that I noticed, including taping over the attic access door to prevent any insulation from falling into the house, and so on. I was very, very pleased. Mr Roberson is knowledgable and seemed very interested in educating me, as a consumer, on the options available and making sure I got what I needed but didn't spend money or time on things that weren't going to make a difference. In addition, he uses materials that are non-irritant and non-toxic when possible. I recall him saying that he didn't want those things in his own home, so he wouldn't put them in mine either. All in all, Mr Roberson and Quality Insulation have been one of the very best companies I have dealt with and I would use them again without question.

Quality Insulation provided EXCELLENT service. I called to ask for a quote and they went out of their way to drive to our house and provide a quote quickly. Then they were able to schedule the job very quickly because of another customer who had to cancel their appointment. They explained their recommendations and the process thoroughly, with no pressure, and even told us we did not need some of the work we inquired about, which saved us money. The workers were quick and efficient. I would absolutely recommend them.

We have a two story house about 34 x 25 feet that was built in the early 1960's. The old insulation was barely six inches deep and last summer when it was 100 degrees outside, our top floor was around 90 degrees with the air conditioner running constantly. We didn't want a repeat of that miserable experience, so we decided to re-insulate our attic. Dan Roberson is a very personable guy and he knows his stuff. He and his crew did the entire job of blowing in at least 18 inches of fiberglass insulation in the entire attic in about two hours. See their website; out attic looks pretty much like the one shown on their website. They masked everything and there wasn't a trace of insulation anywhere in the house when they were done. Dan doesn't just install insulation, he does a complete assessment of any thermal leaks and fixes them. They were very thorough, applying urethane foam around the junction where the attic meets the roof on the eves, insulating the access hatch, and insulating around our whole house attic fan. They even went into the attic of our attached garage and installed a heat shield to keep that heat from reaching the house. Oh, and they also installed new weatherstripping on our front door. We have had some hot days and I am amazed at how much of an improvement the added attic insulation makes. The house is comfortable and the air conditioner hardly runs. So I would say for our house it was well worth the cost in energy savings and comfort level.

Very honest and professional.
Description of Work: I have been struggling with an inefficient cooling system on my second floor. Had a quote on radiant barrier from another vendor and called Quality Insulation to get a second opinion based on the positive reviews. Dan took my call, listened patiently to my concerns and the information I had from the other companies. He quickly helped me diagnose and sort through some of the misinformation I was given. Did not try to sell me something that he felt I didn't need and in fact gave me the name and number to another professional that could help me with a service he doesn't even perform. If I ever have use of his services in the future, I would not hesitate to call on Quality Insulation. Thank you again for your honesty and professionalism!

We got a very quick appointment, they were here promptly and they got to work right away. There was nothing but rock wool from when the house was built, in 1948. There was a bunch of old wooden screen doors, boxes, junk that they removed for us. They put down the reflective material over the new boards they installed so that almost the whole attic is usable. We gained a boatload of storage room. There was room for more boards to be put down, but the project took all day, and they were tired. Just two guys and the owner completed the whole project. Very happy, but a little more expensive than I was led to believe at first. It was a really good investment, however.

Dan was very prompt in replying to my call to him for an estimate of putting in installation in my attic. When I described the job to him, he told me it sounded very straight-forward and gave me a quote per square foot and a flat price for the air sealing. After talking to another insulation company, I had to call Quality Insulation back because I thought I had written down their per square foot price wrong. The other insulator's price was much higher and they also told me that I had to do a lot of extra work that Quality Insulation had not mentioned such as disinfecting the attic. When I called Quality Insulation again, Dan came out the next day to look at my attic. He assured me that my existing insulation was fine, just very sparse and that more insulation could be blown on top. He also explained all my options and the pros and cons of different options. After deciding to have Quality Insulation do the work, they were able to schedule the job for the same week that I called. They showed up right on time and Dan was on site to supervise. The crew cleaned up after the job very well and the house was left in exactly the same condition that it was when they arrived. They even took some junk out of the attic that was left there by previous owners of our house. There was some confusion afterwards about pictures of the finished job, but Dan was very courteous in replying to a request to see the pictures again and emailed them quickly. Overall they were priced well, professional, courteous, and punctual.

Insulation quality is great - excellent installation. We had some problems two years later with the insulation coming loose, but it was mainly a product of storms over the last few years and how air flows through our attic. The techs who came out got everything fixed up as good as new in no time!

Based on the high ratings of Quality Insulation on Angies List, we called and spoke to Dan Roberson on a Wednesday (4/24). After describing the approximate size of our townhouse, Dan gave an estimate over the phone of $1800. We arranged for the installation to be done the following Tuesday at 10:30. The crew showed up a bit early (because a prior customer had cancelled, and Mike and the in-house crew from Quality arrived. I showed them the attic entrance and the team went to work - covered the floor with tarps from the entrance to the second floor - always carefully took off their shoes when they were in the house - routed the hose that would blow in the insulation through an exterior window in the second floor office and into the attic, covered furniture and other items in that room with plastic. Mike explained clearly and in detail what they were going to be doing; how they would protect electrical installation in the second floow ceiling (fans, recessed lighting fixtures) and take care to preserve the incoming air vents from the soffits (that allow ventilation air to enter the attic and flow out of the roof peak ventilation system). Quietly and efficiently the crew finished the job in about two hours - start to finish including set up, installation, and clean up. After they left the house it was impossible to tell that they had been there - really the care the showed in minimizing their impact on our house was remarkable. Mike held the ladder while i stuck my head in the attic for a final inspection of the work. From start to finish the performance of Quality Insulation and their employees was exempliary - I now know from first hand experience why they are so highly rated by so many Angies List subscribers. The final cost was lower than the estimate - only a bit over $1500. It is so encouraging to know that such quality small businesses exists, are able to maintain their high standards and to (I hope) prosper. If you have an insulation project in mind you couldn't find a better, more professional company to handle your job. FIVE STARS!

The entire experience went excellent. I called Dan and he answered on the first call. He was able to give me a approximate estimate over the phone when I gave him the square footage. Of the two days I was available, we were able to make an appointment over the phone. Dan was very responsive and professional. All work was completed in under two hours and the team even built a "tent" over the attic door.

Dan and the Quality Insulation team recently insulated the attic of our rowhome in DC. First he provided us with a free estimate of the cost to insulate the attic. He stopped by on a Saturday for the estimate - convenient for me and my husband, as we both work. He quickly assessed the space, gave us detailed information on his plan to seal the cracks in the attic and blow in insulation to provide us with a specific R rating. Our attic has little crawl space but then opens up in the front of the house, so the job required crawling over beams and maneuvering through tight spaces. He answered our many questions, showed us photos of his previous jobs and walked us through the process - as well as providing us with advice on insulation/sound issues we are currently having in between our first floor and basement apartment. We set up an appointment time with him the following week for the attic insulation job. He and his crew were on time the next week for the insulation appointment, and he had our job completed in a few hours. He sent us photos of the attic insulation before leaving the house, as we were at work during the job, and the house was clean upon our return that evening. As for the most important part - the results of the insulation- they are great. We had zero insulation in our attic prior to this job and there was likely a 10 to 12 degree temperature deferential between the ground floor and upstairs, on a hot or cold day. Immediately we could feel a substantial decrease in that temp. change between the floors, and we haven't had to turn the AC on even on 80+ degree days since. I would recommend Quality Insulation to others.

Dan Roberson examined the attic and provided a reasonable written proposal with the above elements. He supervised the crew of three technicians while the work was being performed, ensuring that it was done neatly and efficiently, with careful preparation to keep from tracking any dirt on our new carpets. All air gaps were sealed on adjoining walls, and special high-temperature foam sealant was used around recessed lights and fan motors. Baffles were carefully stapled at the end of each rafter to preserve air flow from the soffits to ridge vent. The fiberglass insulation was then blown over the existing batts to bring the overall insulation to the proper level. All of the work was completed within two hours, including full clean-up of the site. I would strongly recommend Quality Insulation due to their high skill, courteous service, and ethical business practices.

It's gratifying to find a reputable contractor, like Dan Roberson of Quality Insulation, providing honesty, a good quality product, and excellent service at a fair price. I recently needed my house and garage attics reinsulated and discussed available alternatives with Dan. I was surprised that he was so forthcoming about the several options and costs best suited for my particular requirements. When the project was underway, Dan informed me that the ceiling area adjacent to the garage was adequately insulated making additional insulation unnecessary. He later discovered that because of the configuration of the attic over the garage . . . the job was going to be more time consuming and costlier than first anticipated. To my surprise, Dan not only honored the original agreement, he lowered the estimated agreed upon price. With Dan on site during the entire project, the job was completely hassle-free and the premises left spotless. On a scale of one to ten, I rate Quality Insulation a ten plus.

Dan came and thoughtfully considered the project with us and provided suggestions without any sales pressure. When we decided to proceed he was able to come the same week and complete the work in a day. He was always available for questions and never offended at my queries. His team was extremely tidy and considerate when working. I was concerned that the stuff on the floor would not hold up to wear and tear but it has shown no evidence of tearing or coming loose. This option allowed us to keep the height of the ceiling which was important for easy assess. We forgot about keeping access to the fan switch on the end of the attic where it's now knee deep in insulation...Dan suggested we put it on a thermostat. The overall visual effect was better than I anticipated, we were quite pleased. I was hoping there would be a noticeable difference in our gas bill and wanted to wait until this could be tracked to write a review. Here are the numbers: Month prior to installation: Month after installation: Temp: 39 37 Therms Used: 179 170
Description of Work: Dan's crew had to take up the floor boards in the attic and blow insulation into the space where there was practically NO insulation. This depth was insufficient to meet the standard and we wanted to keep the floor for storage space which presented a challenge. There were many proposals to deal with this but Dan's seemed most reasonable: he added high reflective insulation over the floor boards where we needed to retain storage space, then build up reflective "walls" along the sides and back third of the attic to hold the appropriate depth of blown in insulation. A kitchen nook had been added onto the house without proper insulation so holes were cut into the ceiling and insulation was blown in here as well. The door and stairwell to to the attic were also covered with reflective insulation and the attic and floor under the kitchen nook were sealed.

Dan came out to our house on Saturday the 9th. He thoroughly explained the best solution for my insulation needs, showed how they would access the house for blowing in the insulation, and provided a quote. He and his team came on Monday the 11th and did the work. I was not home, so Dan sent a series of pictures showing how his team had sealed off the living areas to prevent dirt and insulation from getting on rugs and clothes (the attic was accessed through a walk-in closet). When I came home the job was completely done and all of the living areas were spotless. I highly recommend Quality Insulation.
