Quality Insulation

Dan R was professional from the beginning and gave me a good feeling about working with him. He was honest and itemized out to include the actual materials used; you would be surprised how many estimates I have gotten on insulation and other work that never includes that. The price was a good price that came in below most other estimates, but the ones below didn't include itemization of work and materials making his the best estimate. I'm very happy with the work done. Everything was done swiftly and professionally. He even let me know right away that four of my lights were in locations that prevented insulation covers (and of course didn't charge me for the covers); he recommended I replace the lights with LEDs for safety. I can already feel the difference in the warmth of my house.

Can't say enough good things about Dan and his crew. We originally hired Dan to seal the top plates and add additional insulation to the attic. After he completed that work, we discovered that the walls of our 2nd floor (underneath a mansard roof with up to 14" of empty, uninsulated space between our exterior walls and the outside was causing massive inefficiency and loss of comfort). We talked to Dan as well as a number of other insulation professionals to ascertain the best way to address the issue. Dan was always very helpful, responsive and honest. I never felt like he was trying to "sell" me... he just gave good information and let me make my own decisions on my own time. After much research, we felt that Dan's approach was the best and went him. They were once again terrific. His crew is professional and clean and Dan is very service-oriented and a really good guy. Dan and his crew arrived on time as scheduled, and promptly went about preparing for the job. They quickly put down drop cloths in the entry way to protect my hardwood floors, then hauled the materials upstairs to the attic. The work order called for them to remove old insulation that was falling down from the rafters and replace it with new. They also installed "highly reflective" sheeting/insulation over the entire area - about 70'. The crew was fast, efficient and very thorough... and left the attic cleaner than they found it! I was amazed at the quality of the work and the overall results were beautiful! Because the reflective insulation/sheeting is a silver foil it reflects light and really makes the crawl space look clean and "less creepy". i am extremely happy with the work that Quality Insulation did for me and I highly recommend them - Thanks Dan and Crew!

Dan and his team did an excellent job on our insulation project. We would definitely use him again on future projects. We appreciated his experienced, straightforward demeanor. Arrived on time on specified day. Did all the above without creating any mess in the surrounding area. Bagged up old insulation (trash pickup took it away). Got everything done in a few hours. Very neat job--whole area cleaned under this part of the house and silver, vapor proof ceiling material is sealed around all duct work. The men were pleasant yet businesslike. No disruption to our routine. Planning to use same company next week to blow insulation in attic. Very satisfied.

This wonderful company insulated my attic three years ago and this summer I had a new roof put on the house. I was afraid the insulation was moved and I might have spots that weren't covered. (I had ice dam damage prior to initial installation which required walls to be torn down and reinstalled.) Dan came and did an inspection and told me things were A-OK. No charge! Not many (if any) companies these days will do this. I am so very grateful as I am on limited income. Great company!

The provider was extremely responsive, professional, helpful, and friendly. He returned my call promptly, gave me a quote, and even gave me instructions on DIY approaches, in case I wanted to go that route. It couldn't have been a more pleasant experience, and when I move forward with the project, I will absolutely use Quality Insulation.

First, Quality Insulation replaced all of my current baffles (cardboard) with long lasting styrofoam; they replaced all of them. Next, they used a foam sealant to "air seal" the entire attic. Ultimately, they sealed all of the areas where hot and cold air could escape into the walls of the home or elsewhere. Finally, they brought the current insulation, which was extremely low, up to a very efficient level of R49. These were the services that were agreed upon and that I paid for. I say this because while Dan's team was working in the attic, they noticed that several pieces of the HVAC's ductwork was either cracked, broken, or in one case, completely separated. The guys went ahead and fixed all of these issues, no questions asked. Even more surprising was the fact that they didn't charge me for it! When they were finished, they cleaned up the work area, and then encouraged me to go up and inspect their work. The space was approximately 1700 square feet and they completed the job in approximately 3-4 hours. Dan's team was punctual, professional, courteous, and made a proactive effort to leave the home as they found it. They were very clean throughout the entire process. All in all, they did a phenomenal job and I couldn't be happier. I waited a few days to write this review as I wanted to see if the quality of the insulation matched the service. On the very first night we noticed an exceptional difference. I decided to go with Quality Insulation because after several conversations with Dan, he appeared to be knowledgeable, honest, and fair. He could have easily charged me for what I thought I needed, but instead, was upfront about the realities of what my true needs were, and saved me a ton of money. Honestly, I can't even remember a time when I had a service come into my house and I walked away feeling like they had MY best interest in mind; and that interest wasn't tied to additional costs. The extra work that Quality Insulation did was well above and beyond the expectations of the work to be completed. It was obvious from the start that this team takes pride in their work and want to do everything that they can to help you. Feel free to take other bids, investigate other companies, and read all the reviews; I did the same thing. However, in the end, you will find out like I did that you were simply wasting your time. Just give these guys a call.

All went as promised. Showed up on time, completed within the estimated duration, left the place clean, let me inspect each attic, covered all adjacent areas in plastic for protection. Dan and his crew were professional and neat from start to finish. No worries here folks.

Owner called me to set up an appointment, I asked how much will it costs, I gave the square footage of my house and told him I have an existing blown insulation on the house and he gave me an estimate around 1700.00 what is not clear to me is how he arrived at those numbers, since were not insulating the whole attic, I just wanted to increase the R factor of the attic. He said honestly that it would depend on how much they would have to use.He wasn't pushing to do the job. I would reconsider his service in the future.

Our entire interaction with Quality Insulation was characterized by promptness and professionalism. We called Dan for a quote and he was there within hours to check out what work needed to be done and providing us with an itemized estimate of the work he thought we needed. Once we decided to accept the estimate, Dan and his crew were able to come out the next day and do the work. They arrived exactly on time and worked quickly and efficiently to get the work done as planned (about 4 hours in all). At each stage of the work they invited us to get up on the ladder and look so that we could see that the work had been done as agreed. Once the work was finished the crew backed up and cleaned the spaces they had been working in. The place was left spotless. We were very pleased with our entire experience and with all the interactions we had with Quality Insulation. UPDATE (1/22/13): I'm leaving the original review (above) unedited because all of those things stand. I do, however, want to add some additional information that has since colored our views of our experience with Quality Insulation. We recently conducted an energy audit on our house in order to try and make our house still more energy efficient and found that there were many place in our upper attic that should have been sealed before putting in the new insulation. The auditor now says we have to pay to have the insulation blown out so we can seal those spots and blow back the insulation. Also, for the basement air sealing, which they did do. They sealed around the outside of the existing insulation rather than removing the insulation and sealing the cracks directly. When the energy auditor came with the infrared camera you could see that a lot of cold air was still getting in. Lastly, we learned from the auditor that if we had had our energy audit prior to the insulation work we would have qualified for rebates from our utility company. My advice would be to get an audit done before doing any work like this so that you have a valid point of comparison. I realize it is only fair to the company to allow them to respond to the auditor's findings so I have emailed them the audit report to see if they agree or disagree with the findings and will update the recommendation (and grades) when I hear back.

The job was done quickly and professionally, just a few days after I had my initial estimate. Owner Dan Roberson was very efficient and professional. He and his crew remained on-site until the job was completed. There was little or no disruption to my home during the entire process and all materials and supplies were removed at the completion of the job, i.e. no dirt or dust left behind. I felt that the price was fair and the work was excellent. It was a pleasure to deal with Dan, as he's very upfront about what should be done, would be done, with no haggling or price changes during the process. I would strongly recommend this company to my friends and neighbors (Townhouse Community) and have already done so to our Architectural Review Board. Dan and his crew were an absolute delight to work with. I called to make arrangements for an estimate. Dan came to my house on a Wednesday morning, gave me the estimate and asked if he could come by that afternoon to complete the insulation of my attic. He was already working in the area so this arrangement was good for him and me. The work was done quickly and professionally and the house was left in excellent condition. That was important to me. I would recommend Dan Roberson/Quality Insulation without hesitation. I was thoroughly satisfied with the job from start to finish.

Dan Roberson gave me a quote and made sure I understood the details and process. We scheduled for a few days later. The crew was on time and very professional. A supervisor was also sent. Dan stopped by during the installation to check on me and the crew. I had a question and he answered it. The crew set up drop clothes on my carpeting/stairs and hallway and taped up the attic entrance with plastic to keep any insulation from falling back into the house. They even covered my bookcase with plastic near the entrance to the attic. Everyone was very polite and I was extremely pleased.

So far, it has been GREAT! Dan inspected the entire house and talked me out of asking for many services that I did not need. I appreciate that. His estimate was comparable, although slightly higher than others that I had. I chose to have Dan perform the work because I thought I could trust him more. His initial response was very timely; followed by an inspection and estimate the following day (Friday) with installation on the following Monday. The crew showed up on time, quickly performed the work, and did a thorough cleaning after they completed the work. Very quick and professional. Now, I will see if the recommended insulation has a noticeable improvement on my heating and cooling.

On calling this company I did get the answering machine message saying the owner was out of town and wouldn't be taking any new jobs for a few weeks so I sent an email giving my name, number, address and situation hoping to just put myself on the waiting list and have the job done in a month or so. I was surprised to hear from them a day later that while the owner was away, they were still taking jobs and had an opening for that week! I took it and on the day they arrived a little behind schedule but not too late and they were efficient and clean. The job looked great and we could tell a difference that night as we went from less than 3 inches of uneven insulation to 17 inches put down perfectly even. They cleaned up the area outside of the attac access and left no insulation behind and no mess anywhere to be seen. I am very pleased with the job they did.

Was too expensive, solution was overkill for what we needed; did not offer alternatives.

Dan was out of town at the time of service, but his supervisor showed up on time with 3 people. They worked professionally and finished the job in a couple of hours. They left the place almost clean (except some insulation pieces here and there.)

They were great. We got our wires crossed (I thought I was asking for one thing & Quality folks thought something else). They bent over backwards to make the mistake (might have been mine) go away & did exactly the work I needed... & honored the price given for wrong work. Again, I would use these folks again with zero hesitation.

This was an excellent experience from beginning to end. Dan is a complete professional, gave our house a thorough evaluation for blowing insulation, and set a fair price. His crew arrived precisely on time, laid drop cloths to ensure that the house was not soiled by the process, and installed the insulation neatly and efficiently. They showed us pictures of the attic and fixed a duct in the attic that had come apart. Dan came to the house and provided us with a fair quote which also happened to be the most affordable after receiving quotes from other companies. We had about 2 inches of insulation in the attic when the recommended standard is up to 18 inches. We got an appt scheduled, the process was explained to us, his crew came out, did their thing within a couple of hours and were gone. We would have never known they were there...no mess whatsoever! Once the job was completed my husband got to see the work and was pleased. We were given the amount of insulation that we expected and it was distributed evenly and neatly. We would definitely recommend Dan and his company to anyone!

On initial contact, Dan we responsive and followed up after his vacation and my other projects were completed. Dan appeared to do a very thorough job during initial inspection and provided a detailed quote. Installer team and Dan showed up on time and completed the work in a few hours. All items in quote were addressed, plus a better solution for one problem area implemented. They had me inspect all work, and from what I can tell, work was done right - neat and clean too. After clean-up, which was minimally necessary, could not tell they were here. Completely satisfied and happy with service.
