Quality Insulation

Dan and Mike were responsive, professional, available, and did quality work for a good price. They came out and did an estimate without a hard sell, and we were able to schedule the work a few days later. We had an issue with pipes freezing in a crawl space, and now that space has stayed well above freezing.

From start to finish this was one of the best experiences with a contractor I've ever had. I spoke with Dan Roberson, the owner, a few times on the phone (very responsive - he always called me right back), and he came out to do the estimate. He was prompt and courteous, and we warmed to him immediately. (Quite a personable guy!) Dan is a straight shooter, a more old-school kind of guy - which I like. It's apparent that he wants to give his customers the best service and product and not upsell them on anything. The only thing I will say is that he can talk through things very fast, and if you don't understand the lingo or how insulation works, it can be a bit overwhelming. But I have no doubt that if one were to stop and ask him to explain something, he would. His son works with him, and although I didn't get to meet his son, I always prefer businesses that are family-owned and operated, because loyalty and pride of workmanship and professionalism usually go hand-in-hand with them. So that we wouldn't have to wait several weeks, Dan offered us a 7:00 am slot three days after he came out to do the estimate - they had another job later in the morning but were willing to come out to do ours beforehand. Dan came with the crew - they were right on time, were careful about parking in our townhome parking lot (they haul a trailer with supplies behind the van), and immediately began to lay down heavy canvas tarp in our entryway and up the stairs - it was clear they pay a great deal of attention to keeping things clean. When at first it looked like one part of the job would require a bit more labor, Dan reassured us that this would not cost us extra - he stands by his estimates. (As it turned out, that extra work was not needed.) Dan and his crew were professional, worked quickly and efficiently, and had finished, cleaned up, and left in two hours - the exact timeframe he predicted. I am 100% pleased with my experience with Dan and Quality Insulation. My only regret - that they don't do everything, because I'd be happy to have them in my house for plumbing jobs, painting, repair work, remodeling, etc. But I doubt I'll need to get my house re-insulated any time soon - thanks to their quality work and product.

I called Quality Insulation on Thursday, 1/8 when my kitchen pipes froze. Dan Roberson came the next day to look at the job and provide an estimate. They came back the following Tuesday to complete the work. They did an excellent job, were very responsive to my questions, and best of all, I no longer have to worry about frozen pipes.

The work was not done as agreed. Did not insulate the attic door. When I got into the attic to check the work, there was foam all over my floor as it was not properly put in. They were punctual but the quality of the work is unsatisfactory given the amount paid for a small house.

Very responsive, courteous, reasonable cost for materials & labor, prompt, and professional. Just had technician service my SpacePak centralized heat/air conditioning system that is located in attic. He was so impressed with the quality of the insulation that he took pictures to show me and asked for the name of the company for referrals. Great job!

Dan is very responsive and very easy to work with. His men were prompt and professional. Our attic is noticeably warmer now. When an issue emerged with the bathroom pipes, he quickly returned my call and fixed the problem the next day. Certainly worth the A rating he gets on angies list.

The work was performed exactly as expected, and with great professionalism and care. I would use them again in a second for any other insulation needs. I almost wish I had a second attic! Also, unlike most contractors, the house was totally clean afterwards and it was like they were never there. (My HVAC guy said it was one of the best insulation jobs he'd see.)

Dan and his team were fantastic to work with. He turned up on time for the estimate. The estimate was the lowest of the estimates that we obtained, and he was in and out for the estimate in the space of 1/2 an hour, and he also brought his own ladder and equipment which none of the other folks we talked to did. Most importantly, we didn't feel like the price automatically got inflated by 50% because of our zip code, which happened with one of the other guys that gave us a quote. The crew showed up on time to do the work, the work was done very efficiently, and they were nice to have in the house. They were exceptionally clean and neat and protected the rest of the house from the insulation fluff, and tidied up after themselves so well that it was like they were never there. We were very impressed, and even more so when the temperature dropped precipitously afterwards and we noticed a very significant difference in the warmth of the house. We highly recommend them and would be happy to be contacted for a reference.

Personable, family-owned business. Communication and presentation upon arrival was clear, friendly, and professional. Showed-up early, ready to go. Worked efficiently to get the job done as soon as possible. All crew took great care in preserving the cleanliness of our home throughout the process. Answered any and all questions we had about the installation and clean-up. Price was extremely competitive and they were able to schedule us quickly. Would highly recommend for all insulation needs.

All the good things you've read on Angie's List are right. Dan is personable, straight forward and down to earth. And what a good crew! They showed up at 7:00am (as they said they would), set up their configuration with minimum (and I mean "minimum") impact on our house, and then air sealed and insulated the whole attic in about 2 hours. I know you're supposed to get three estimates before you do a deal, but in my humble opinion ... just call Dan.

Very quick response: I called Dan on Monday and he came by next day morning to give me a quote. The job was done by Thursday afternoon. Fair pricing: I was planning to get quotes from the top 3 Angie's list contractors. In fact Dan recommended me to do it. However, his price seemed very reasonable to me and as such, I gave him the job right there. The price is all inclusive which includes sealing the air gaps, add insulation, and tax. The cost is just a simple formula of multiplying the square footage and his rate. He also gave me a senior discount of 15 %. Cleanliness: My wife and I had a lunch date with friends on the appointment time and as such I gave him the key to my house for his crew to do the work. When we got back there was no signs of any work being done. The only way to verify the work was to go up into the attic. Honorable guy: Obviously I trusted Dan or I would not give him my house key. What impressed me was that when I paid my bill It turned out the quoted price was a credit card price which was not stated anywhere in the contract. He gave me a 1.75 % discount because I paid by check. Less honorable person will just made me pay the full price without the discount. Results: After the addition of the insulation, the temperature difference between the two floors is less than 1 degree verse 3-4 degrees before. The furnace turns on less frequently and the run time is shorter. Also, the insulation seems to muffle the ventilation duct-work to make it less noisy.

We selected Quality Insulation based on Angie's List reviews to re-insulate our attic and we couldn't be happier! Dan is extremely professional, responsive and very knowledgeable. He responded to my inquiry for a quote right away and easily worked with my schedules to come out and do an in home estimate. We have a 1950s brick colonial only a few inches of insulation, so our upstairs was always too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter no matter what temperature we kept the thermostat at. The quote to do our attic was very fair and Dan explained everything in detail. We had our attic done a week later. His team is very knowledgeable, efficient and they left our house extremely clean. We noticed the difference in comfort in our upstairs right away. We can keep our thermostat at 68 degrees (used to be at 71 on cold nights) and upstairs stays at 70 degrees (before it dipped at times to 66 degress). The house is much more comfortable now. Now that the temperatures have dropped below freezing at night the difference is even more evident. We can't wait to see the difference in the summer! I highly recommend Quality Insulation! UPDATE: When it was -2 degree outside in mid-Feb 2015, our bedrooms were between 71-73 degrees with the thermostat set to 68 on ground level. Last winter, we would have had thermostat at 72 to get maybe 65 degrees upstairs. Thank you!

Dan came out and looked around our house and instead of lying to us, he told us that the insulation we had was fine. He told me that there might be spots where we could use some spray foam around the perimeter but described how to do it myself with cans of spray foam instead of charging me to do it.

Dan was a straight shooter from the get-go. He knows his product and approached the sale as if he were doing his own home. He didn't try to up-sell me on any other types of products and made sure that the job was well done. His crew has been with him for several years and they took care to preserve our bedroom and stairs while the insulation was installed (drop cloths, wore booties and personal protective gear). He stayed the whole time to supervise the job and took pictures of his work for our records. He also fixed a disconnected duct. His prices are competitive and I would recommend him without hesitation.

Great experience! I called one day and was scheduled for the very next day. Dan explained all that the crew would do, very detailed. The crew was punctual, showed up exactly when they said they would.. It took about 2-3 hours to complete all the work. The crew cleaned up after the work was done and showed me the finished product. Wow! Very neat job done with a walkway to our air conditioner unit. No mess at all, like they were never there. Noticed right away the heat stays in the rooms longer, furnace turns on less. Looking forward to savings next summer when I run my AC. I definitely recommend!

Dan answered all my questions. I received the estimate some time ago (a year to the day of service), and he honored his original pricing. The work was scheduled quickly (about a week's wait time). Mike was the onsite lead. He was friendly and answered all my questions, and even showed me where two vents were not connected in the attic, meaning that air was just blowing -- not heating or cooling anything. They reconnected the lines and secured them with tape. The crew was punctual. My home was scheduled for 7:00am, and literally when the clock hit 7:00, the doorbell rang. It look about 3 hours to complete all the work. The crew cleaned up after the work was done. No mess at all. My home already feels considerably warmer! I definitely recommend.

I have an old rowhouse that had zero attic insulation. After having the K&T wiring replaced, I wanted to get some insulation in there before we closed up the ceiling. I contacted Dan by e-mail and he responded immediately. He was very friendly on the phone, and once I provided the necessary specifications, was able to give me an estimate by e-mail and schedule the work for the following week. Communication was excellent overall. The crew that came out to do the work were punctual, efficient, and thoroughly professional. We were encouraged to inspect the work before they finished up, and the final cost was exactly as estimated, no surprises. They were in and out in 2.5 hours, and there was zero mess. I'm looking forward to a cozier winter, and will definitely contact Dan again in the future if I need more work done!

They were able to come out for an estimate the day I called and did the work a few days later. Price was in line with our expectations and both the appointment for the estimate and for the work were exactly on time. There was no mess and everything went perfectly. Highly recommend this company!

Dan was responsive when i called and was prompt when he came over for the estimate. He is personable and honest. He explained what he was going to do and why doing it that way was the best way to do it. On the day of the insulation he and his crew showed up on time (a little early even), were quick, efficient, courteous and thorough. They had to cut a hole in my ceiling and didn't make any mess. They worked around the HVAC unit that is in my attic and showed me their work when they were done. I didn't get any other quotes to compare prices but I was comfortable with his price.

This is the second house I?ve used QI for in the last two years. They do really nice, clean work. As crazy as it sounds, they will turn your attic into an area of your house you would be proud to show off to friends and neighbors. My wife has no problems now running up to the attic weeks before every holiday to bring down the decorations. The only small issue I can report was with this recent visit. I had scheduled the visit out about four weeks in advance so that I could squeeze it into a time slot after my hardwood floors were refinished but before my ?move in? day. When I called him the morning I scheduled with Joe (four days before my ?move in? date) he told me he had me scheduled for the Friday of that week rather than the Monday. I am certain we agreed on the Monday date as the date he had was after my ?move in? date which I know I would never have agreed to. Joe was able to adjust his schedule and squeeze me in the morning of my ?move in? day before the movers got there so it worked out in the end. I highly recommend QI especially if you want to turn some of your attic into usable storage space.

We had a very positive experience working with Dan. He is very honest and clearly knows what he's doing in this business. When he first came for an estimate he made sure to show me his licensing for the state and walked me through the process his company follows for attic insulation. The job itself was very simple - we only had ~8" of insulation in our attic and needed to bring that up to about 18" in order to keep the upstairs level cooler. I found the price he charged to be similar but more competitive than other estimates we received. After I reached out to schedule the work with him it was extremely fast turn around as to when his team could come. He assured me it only only take a few hours and he was exactly right - less than 3 hours and the work was done. His team went to work right away and Dan checked on everything at the start of their work and then did a walk through afterwards. He provided me pictures of the work that was done so I could see that they had actually done something up in the attic! This was a very quick and painless process in working with a contractor and we'd definitely use him again. Dan also has a very funny personality which is just a bonus when talking with him!

It went very well. They showed up exactly when they said they would and it took exactly as much time as they said it would and cleaned up completely afterwards. The insulation made the third floor cooler and solved the drippy HVAC problem we had due to an uninsulated unit. I would recommend them for anyone looking to get better insulation. They were responsive and pleasant to deal with.

Brought attic insulation up to R49 and covered wood with reflective covering. Everything was completely clean when they departed. Provided with pictures of the completed attic work.

He was able to come for an estimate right away. No nonsense or upselling. Had a reasonable price which was not a lot over what the materials along would cost so we let him know that day we wanted to do it and he was available with his crew to come within a week to do it. They showed up when they said they would, got right to work, did the job without making any mess or much noise at all (which is important because they start early) and the house feels piles cooler afterwards. It used to get warm even on cool days with the windows up, but stays comfortable. A week after the job we can feel a tremendous difference.
