Called Quality Insulation and spoke to Dan to explain the problem: my wife and I just bought a condo and realized we could hear every conversation and footsteps of our neighbors upstairs. It was bad. Dan came out the next day and after a thorough inspection, presented us with a solution and the price. Took 3 days to put insulation into the ceiling and his employees, including his son Ryan, were extremely professional. They made sure our newly painted wall or our furniture did not get damaged and they cleaned up after themselves after each visit. The result: even though we can still hear our neighbors walk upstairs, it has made an incredible difference. Would highly recommend Dan and Quality Insulation.
Description of Work: Put insulation into the space between the condo ceiling and the above neighbor's floor.

What a difference a day and attic insulation make! I contacted Dan at Quality Insulation after discovering that the second floor of my cape cod became a hot-box as summer set in. The second floor was basically uninhabitable. Dan was very responsive and came by several hours after I contacted him. He inspected the attic and noted that there was only 2 inches of insulation, he also recommended adding a radiant barrier in the attic and knee walls of the dormers. On the day of work, Dan also said he would add insulation to the knee walls in addition to the radiant barriers- since they were already cutting holes in the walls On the day of the work, Dan, Ryan (his son) and their crew arrived on time and got to work. The work took several hours to complete but it was quiet enough for me to work at home that day with no disruptions. I've already noticed a big difference in the house--the 10 degree temperature gradient between the main and second floors is goneand the AC doesn't run constantly as it did in May and early June.
Description of Work: Bring the attic up to R-49 using Owens Corning L 77 plus Air Sealing the attic and Knee walls as well as Installing High R Reflective Insulation on the Inner wall of each. Also added insulation inside the knee walls

Dan (owner) made it to my house the same day I called to do the quote. No-pressure selling. We scheduled for 2 days later. Dan's son came with a crew and did the job in about 3 hours at the appointed time. They put down drop clothes everywhere, covered all the furniture with plastic and sealed the attic entrance with plastic while they were working. They foamed all corners, cracks, fixtures and speaker openings then put down an even layer of insulation across the whole attic, probably adding about 12-14 inches. They also added some reflective barrier to my access panel to insulate it and make it easier for me to get in and out without making a big fiberglass mess. . They are super easy to work with, price seemed reasonable but I didn't compare, other than to estimate cost of the materials they were using online at Home Depot. My guess is that the materials would have been a 1/3rd to 1/2 of what I paid QI but there is no way I could have done it as well, as quickly, or as cleanly as they did. Before they left, they took time to show me pictures of what they did so I didn't have to climb up in attic unless I wanted to. Zero mess left behind when they were done. They also gave me some recommendations on increasing efficiency of the AC system. I would recommend this service and use them again.
Description of Work: My upstairs was really hot in the afternoons and evening. I hired Quality Installation to air seal attic and blow insulation in whole attic to bring to R-49 using a quality insulation, based on their recommendation.

Quality Insulation was fabulous to work with and did an outstanding job. II contacted Dan Roberson via Angies List on Friday and Dan sent me a message back on Saturday. On Sunday Dan called me directly and explained the entire process to add insulation to our attic. He provided details and gave me an estimate on the phone since our situation with a townhouse was very simple. He was so professional and the estimate was well within the range of other estimates. We arranged for Tuesday at 7:30 am. Ryan, Dan's son, arrived exactly at 7:30 am with the crew. They covered the stairs, and rugs and closet access to the attic. Ryan was extremely polite and professional as was the crew. Ryan explained everything as it was proceeding. He had said that it would take 2 hours and it did exactly. Ryan took before and after pictures so we could see what they had done. We are already feeling the difference in the rooms below the attic. I don't know why we didn't do this years ago! Quality Insulation is a family business and they are proud of the work they do and customer service. If you need your situation evaluated call Dan and they will give you a fair assessment and offer excellent service.

Dan came to give me the estimate the day after I called him, and the estimate was the least expensive of the 3 that I got, and he explained what he would do and what he thought didn't need to be done. When I called and agreed to have the work done, he was able to schedule me for the next day. His son came the next morning and with a crew of 4 guys they got everything done in just over 2 hours. Really professional, showed me photos of each step and the result looks good.
Description of Work: They installed r19 insulation and a layer of reflective insulation in the crawl space under the addition of my rowhouse in Columbia heights. They also insulated and patched up an opening where waterpipes were connected from the main part of the house to the addition.

We bought our home last fall knowing that it only had the original insulation from 1940 in the attic and quickly learned how cold the 2nd floor was during the long winter we had. In looking for insulation companies, we read about Quality Insulation originally on Angie's List and were impressed with the reviews. We then found out that friends of ours had used them back in 2013 and were very happy with the company, crew, and results and couldn't recommend them enough. We emailed Dan with our home specifications and requested a quote. He called us within 15 minutes and talked us through what the entire process would entail and how much everything would cost, including labor. Coincidentally. he had an opening for 7:30 am the next day; based on quotes we had gotten from other companies and reviews of other companies, we didn't hesitate at all to schedule the service with Quality Insulation immediately. His son, Ryan, arrived promptly at 7:30 with the team ready to go and answered all of our questions and explained what exactly would happen. He took pictures throughout the entire process to show us what was happening at each stage and sent them to us for our records. All in all, it took about 90 minutes from start to finish and we were able to feel the difference on the 2nd floor immediately. The crew took great care to make sure that everything was picked up and cleaned when they left. We now have a wonderfully insulated attic that is energy efficient and look forward to more comfort on the 2nd floor and a reduction in our utility bills. If you want excellent customer service and personalized attention to detail, definitely hire Quality Insulation for the job.
Description of Work: Added loose fill insulation in our attic, going from 4 inches up to 19 inches (R-49), and air sealed the attic.

Dan, the owner, came to do the estimate. We were able to schedule a time less than a week out, rather than waiting 2-3 weeks like some other services. His son was there to oversee the job being done. They arrived on time. The work was performed well and it went quickly. They added extra insulation to cover all the vents and still make it look even in the attic. They are not the cheapest, but fair, and they do go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the service. I had to mention one part of the attic that was in the quote, but was not actually accessible so they removed that from the price. The product used was the standard pink blown-in insulation, nothing special. I already had some insulation in the attic but not enough. They did create a type of cover for the attach door, again nothing fancy but does help prevent some heat loss. They did recommend a "high R reflective" insulation cover for one part of the attic. This added cost, not sure if it makes a difference, but we did it anyway. I have no problems recommending them.

I called Dan to inquire about spray foam insulation in my basement renovation project. Dan returned my call almost immediately and discussed with me the options I had for insulating the basement. They came out for an estimate for attic insulation. I found Dan easy to talk to and he thoroughly explained his approach to the attic insulation project. Luckily they were able to conduct the project in the same day due to a cancellation! I haven't noticed a drastic change on the upper level of my home yet but I'm pretty sure once the summer hits I will save in energy costs. Very pleased with the service... his staff and son were very personable and professional as well.

I can't say enough good things about Quality Insulation. From the moment I met Dan for an estimate I knew I was in good hands. He was punctual, professional, knowledgeable and just a great guy. He was friendly, down to earth and very honest when providing the cost estimate as well. We decided to go ahead with the work and the install process went just as smoothly. Dan, his son and their team arrived exactly on time and well prepared. Dan and his son share the great qualities I mentioned above. They also stayed on the job site to supervise from start to finish which was a very welcome change to other companies we have used. The workers were kind and courteous and completely professional. I am always worried about cleanliness during a job like this but the workers put my fears to rest by doing an excellent job of keeping everything clean and tidy. The house was as clean when they left as it was when they arrived, maybe even cleaner! I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Ryan and his team showed up on time and were extremely efficient. They laid out drop cloths through the entire space where they would be walking and working, and the entire project was done in about 2 hours. Both the initial assessment and the work itself were handled quickly and thoroughly. They cleaned up completely and there was no evidence or left over debris from their work. I was concerned there would be insulation particles or dust on the furniture but detected none, which is great with 2 dogs and 2 small kids roaming around. It was one of the best experiences I've had with a home repair contractor and would highly recommend them and use them again.
Description of Work: Our attic bedroom and a front bedroom on the main level of our house were always much cooler than the rest of the house. I initially thought the walls lacked insulation, but Dan Roberson (the owner) came in and assessed the space and determined that there was no insulation under the eaves of the house, along the front 4 feet of our roofline. It was clear that Dan had solid expertise and new exactly what to do, and was able to quickly handle the assessment. He had availability the next day but we ended up scheduling his crew to come in several days later to complete the work. His crew came in and cut 2 small holes (one hidden by a window bench) and filled the space along the entire front of our house with new insulation. They also cut and inserted new reflective material to keep the unfinished storage areas from allowing cold air to seep into the rooms. All that's left for me to do is to patch a 12" square hole in the drywall and paint. I can tell already that my son's bedroom is noticeably warmer at night, and our attic bedroom is also much warmer.

Dan,the owner, provided the estimate and gave a very honest assessment of the insulation needs of my town house. He advised against doing what other insulators had suggested, said it wasn't necessary and suggested I focus on the attic before considering any other options. His price was the best of all the companies I called and I approved of the non-formaldehyde product used to insulate. Dan's son was the project foreman for the job and he and his crew arrived at the appointed time. They were careful, efficient, and completed the job in just under 2 hours. I would recommend this company for any home insulation needs and would definitely hire them again.

It went great. Dan's son Ryan arrived with a crew on time at 7:30am and worked hard for about 6 hours insulating our attic and the crawl space under our very cold kitchen. Ryan was great about explaining what they were doing and took before and after photos to show the completed work. We had insulation blown into the attic and batts were installed under the kitchen. The crew was courteous and professional and worked straight through. Everything went without a hitch and they were extremely pleasant to deal with. We were very pleased with the work and can easily recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Dan Roberson came in on 3/4/15 to give us an estimate the day after we spoke on the phone. He was punctual, friendly and straightforward about what could and couldn't be done. He asked questions about our primary concerns and then investigated those areas and made recommendations on how to best proceed. He gave us an estimate on the spot and the price seemed fair so we got on the schedule for the following week.

Dan called us back immediately and came out the same day to take a look at the house and the work that would be needed. He was extremely nice and friendly, and he even spoke with us about some of the "gimmicks" that other companies will use and cost you more money when they aren't even need. He was then able to send a crew out two days later to perform the work, which only took a half of a day to complete. They even took before and after pictures so you could see what was needed inside the walls and how they looked before closing them back up. A week later the pipes in my kitchen froze again, so they promptly sent a crew out again, did some digging around to get to the root of the problem, and once they got to it (it was an outside faucet that was connected to the kitchen plumbing) they fixed the issue and didn't charge a dime for the additional work. They were so good and friendly that it almost makes me wish I had more work to provide them with.

These guys are great! The owner, Dan Roberson, called me back promptly on a Monday (which was a Federal Holiday), came by the house that afternoon and walked through the job step by step while we discussed options and concerns. After we agreed on the contract and price, he set up the scheduling, and said he could have a crew out as early as 7:30 Wednesday morning (2 days later, with a snowstorm predcited for Monday night!). Sure enough, 7:30 in the morning on Wednesday Dan's son is here with their crew. After introductions, and a breif walk through of the job; the cdrew sets to work, and they are amazing. Plastic and fllor protection are put down, items in rooms are covered, and the crew gets to work. 3 hours later the job is done. I have a second access into my attic, and a prodigious amount of insulation in the attic. Dan's son took pictures of the interior of the attic before the work started (yeah, there was NO insulation up there. Not a shock for a house built in the 1920's); and after the job. What a difference! I've noticed an immediate improvement. The second floor of the house is so much warmer now. Can't wait to see the improvement in the gas bill! I cannot speak highly enough about Quality Insulation. They are top notch from start to finish. Fantastic experience. ~Chaz
