Shary's Plumbing, LLC.

After finding a leak, we called Shary's since they had installed the water heater in the house (by the previous owner). We cancelled the original late night call since the leak stopped, but asked them to come early in the morning. We were originally told they'll come early Wednesday morning, but they didn't show up. Wife called later and arranged for Thursday morning (between 7 and 9). They arrived around 9 (I had to leave for work). It apparently took 2 people about 4 hours (the bill listed the second person's help as extra surcharge). They left the holes in the drywall in kitchen and basement and suggested that we dry it out for about a week before repairing. They were professional on the phone and explained everything. (we weren't able to stay at the house, and they locked up afterwards and reconnected the dishwasher). They left a detailed explanation and cost of parts on the bill, and it turned out the parts were about $100, but the rest of the $1069 bill was labor. I think they did a decent job overall, though scheduling and timing could be improved, and I had hoped the drywall holes could have been clean up (the edges were ragged and crushed from blows from whatever they used to break through). I was disappointed from the high labor charge, and when the plumber heard my surprise, he said sawing through the cast iron pipe took a while... Overall, I think they did a good job, but I should have asked for an estimate before work began. Compared to other plumber's costs on Angie's List, they appear to have higher cost than others. Now I have to find a drywall contractor/handyman to repair the walls, which will cost even more money. I had hoped they'll return later to repair the drywall.

They ain't cheap, but they do an excellent job. The team is very professional and I have high confidence in the work they perform.

Shary's staff were punctual and professional. It was a pretty tough clog with the roots and he was in there working on it HARD with what sounded like a mechanical auger for at least a good couple of hours. We could hear the machinery grinding away. Shary's staff was particularly careful in removing the old sink and replacing the new as the original 1950s one had been attached directly to the wall. He kept the drywall damage to a minimum, switched over the new sink and cleaned up after himself! (Also gave us a couple of hints to help keep the root growth down). Shary's lived up to the "A"s we saw on Angies List (which is why I picked them for our plumber to begin with) and we will definitely use them again.

We asked to have the plumbing replaced so it would not leak and new shower. we had another plumber out who could not fix it at all ( for $164.00) who said any more repair would have to cut thru the tiles and cost a bundle--and we'd have to arrange contractor separately. We did not hire that plumber. We turned to Shary's who did everything--tiles, plumbing, new shower beautifully--no hassles. Did it promptly and quite well. We are thrilled they came out immediately, measured, gave an estimate which seemed a bit high--we went back and forth a few times and dropped one service we really didn't need (new fan) and are quite pleased with the prompt, attractive end result. They arranged and did everything.

They did a good job but it was VERY expensive.

We have used Shary's for several years for routine plumbing services, and have always been well served by their professional and prompt response. When we set about to remodel the basement, there was no question that we would call Shary's to provide plumbling help. At every turn, Shary's crew worked with us to come when it was most convenient to do particular jobs. I did the design work and the carpentry, and Shary's crew was helpful with suggestions to improve the design. Shary's was also flexible in working around other contractors, particularly the electrician. Almost all of the jobs went off without a hitch, and within the budgeted time and cost. When small problems arose -- one of several dozen water pipe joints sprang a leak, for instance -- Shary's returned and repaired the problem immediately, and at no charge under warranty. In my experience, there is no better plumbing contractor in the area.

Overall they do very good work: they show up on time, explain what they are doing, provide options, and work in small increments to decrease the total cost (this helps, as they are not the cheapest around).

They were very professional and timely. They went the extra mile to ensure that things were done right. They knew that I was sensitive. They fixed any problems and talked me through what they did. They installed temporary counter tops while we were waiting for the new counter top to come in. They were very kind and they understood the urgency of the work that I needed done. They understood that I needed the documentation of the prior person’s work. They provided that all though they didn’t necessarily have to do. They even went to get the permit transferred from the prior job and didn’t charge extra for that. Their price was a little bit high.

They were very professional and very knowledgeable. I think two different people had come out. They were very responsive to my phone calls. They were also very helpful and really nice people. It was basically a consultation on a bunch of little things. I had some questions about whether a spigot could be moved outside. Also, one of the sinks was leaking. Their price was a little on the high side, and that is the only negative that I saw. It was not too bad, though. They might be expensive just to get in to the door, but they were helpful in giving me all kinds of information. Overall, I was really happy with them. I would use them again.

Exceptional! Will plan to use them for any future plumbing needs.

On Sunday night (of course) I was running the dish washer, clothes washer, and someone was showering. As I was in the basement, suddenly sewerage started to back-up into the room. I was lucky that I was in the basement when it first started to back-up; I might not have discovered it otherwise for an hour or more, and then much more damage would have been done. I shut everything off and the back-up stopped. I called the water and sanitation company and there were no reported problems with the mains. I actually had a short-list of Angie's List plumbers on hand that I had researched for another job recently (though I had not even called anyone for it yet), so checked who did emergency work from that list. Shary's was the second firm I looked at, but the first one that did emergency work. I called their emergency line on Sunday night around 9:30pm and got through. Since the problem was temporarily under control, he advised that I wait for the morning to save the emergency service charge, and indicated that they could have someone at my house at 7am Monday morning. Brilliant. The truck pulled up closer to 8am, but it was not a problem. The technician snaked the pipe and cleared the drain; did multiple tests to ensure it would not back up again (running water, flushing toilets) and within an hour it was done. Shary's was very responsive, professional, and able to resolve the issue quickly enough without major costs.

The pricing was reasonable. I was happy with Shary S.

Shary's was referred to me and I had a hard time scheduling an appointment (multiple follow-ups by me to schedule) and after the very nice plumber came out I never received a quote or response, despite many calls requesting it.

A dismal experience! I called Shary's on 9/24/10 requesting service. I was promptly given an appointment for Monday 9/27 from 3:00PM - 5:00PM. I left work early to meet the plumber. A phone call from Shary's comes in the afternoon. A gentleman says I can give you a quote over the phone. I informed him that I did not want a quote, I made the appointment to have the sewer pump looked at and fixed. He responded with a "I will charge you". I never expected the work to be done Pro Bono. A plumber proceeded to arrive at my home at 8:00PM. After I commented about the delay, he responded with a "I am not charging you overtime". The plumber then began to work on the sewer pump. After some time, he said he determined what the problem was, and had ordered the parts. He then told me that he would return on Wednesday at 8:00AM. Never came. A different plumber arrived after 1:00PM. As he was trying to replace the parts, he realized that he had the wrong parts at hand. He followed up with a phone call to tell me that he can not guarantee when the sewer pump will be fixed. Thursday, no call, no update. The sewer pump is still not fixed. This company has no regard for their customers. They mislead, lie and are unprofessional. When and if they ever return is still TBD.

Technician arrived on time, performed the work quickly and professionally, suggested a related problem to that of the basement drain and snaked the kitchen drain as a result of that assessment. His assessment turned out to be correct. After completing the tasks, technician cleaned up both work areas. An outstanding performance!

I don’t remember the details but I thought they did well and the price was good. They were responsive and the only reason I used a different plumber for another project was because they were already doing work in the neighborhood.

Excellent service. We had an emergency problem with a leaking toilet, called first thing in the morning and they were there in a few hours. The man was extremely polite, effective, and professional. While there, he cleaned up a couple of non-urgent problems with our newly installed washer. The three jobs took him two hours. I was a little surprised at the cost, but given their effectiveness, I would use them again.

The proposal that was sent us was pure boiler-plate (no pun intended) with a manufacturer's name given, but not a specific model. Since prices for this companies model vary by more than a factor of two with dramatic differences in the manufacturer's warrantee, this was not very helpful. The price was nearly double the cost of the average water heater from that manufacturer and there was no indication whether the plumbing was trivial (slip into the old space) or difficult (requiring substantial reworking). We phoned in an inquiry requesting more detail, but more than two weeks later we have had no response. This was surprising and disappointing given the quality of the work done on my actual plumbing. I still might have them do the job if I can ever get them to tell me what they would actually do.

They were very good and I used them twice. They know that they are on the list, so there are real conscious and even ask you if the price is okay. They fixed the toilet very easily, quickly and it was done well. The price was also good for the work they did and I think it was $200 for the last job, which was exactly what they said it was going to be.

Shary's came out late on a Friday afternoon and spent two hours clearing a floor drain that was backing up from the washing machine discharge pipe. They came on short notice, and the plumber stayed until after 6 pm clearing the drain. He also recommended and installed a lint trap for the washing machine discharge pipe that has eliminated any subsequent clog problems. In terms of responsiveness and professionalism, Shary's is definitely worth the price. Highly recommended.

Excellent, Excellent Job. Called around 7:00 a.m. that morning. The individual that answered the phone was extremely pleaseant. Was able to get a plumber to respond to the house that day and stated they would be out between 12 and 2. Plumber arrived on time and was extremely pleasant and did a excellent, quick job. Was able to go down to the basement to help find a water leak that I have personally been trying to discover for the past several months. Found out that the condensation line to the AC was not setup properly by the company that installed the AC unit. They drilled a hole into the basement floor and had the line going directly down into the ground. Helped out alot and really appreciated him taking the time to find the leak. Excellent job and would use them again.

He showed up on time, did a great quality job, was quite professional, cleaned up after himself. It was great!

I thought they were very helpful and very informative. They were very good. One reason I decided not to use them is they don't do tile work and I wanted somebody that can address tile work at the same time. They were very clear and very direct and had helpful information.

They came right out and stopped the leak. They came out right on time as promised. I have been pleased with their service.
