I called them to perform an estimate for a 2 unit rehab. The first time they didn't show; we rescheduled and they did not make that appt either. On the third try they showed up. After an unfriendly visit to discuss the estimate, I confirmed with Shary that they would be submitting an estimate three days later. I emailed some follow up information and never heard from them again. Needless to say, I did not pursue the estimate as I felt this was a bad sign and didn't want to work with them.

We already had flooding from the same problem the previous day with another plumber, who obviously did not fix the problem. What a relief to reach Shary of Shary's Plumbing immediately and be told that we would have a plumber at the house by noon. In fact, Chris arrived an hour early, quickly understood the problem, and gave us a choice of solutions. He was straightforward about costs and time. He helped get out the trapped water in the ceiling underneath the water break. He was efficient and polite. He explained why the other plumber's work was not correct.

I've used Shary's Plumbing twice now and I can't give any contractor a stronger recommendation. Every ten years or so I try to do a plumbing project on my own, and quickly realize why it's been ten years. I thought I'd hook up a new dishwasher. Simple? Of course, expect the old pipes under the sink were a mess and the shut off valve started leaking, then spraying and so on. Shary's sent Mel and Erick on essentially an emergency call: they were polite, professional, clean (yup), and rather then patch up the job they replaced all of the valves, reworked the disposal and dishwasher drains, and insisted on installing the dishwasher for me-and did a perfect job. NOTE: Shary's is the old school approach of honest work for an honest dollar and NOT the new concept of over charging the customer a flat, fixed fee per task. I later had them return to install a new powder room sink. Again: stellar performance. If all contractors were this good, old house ownership would be much more fun.

Everything went very well. Shary answered the phone on the first try and was able to schedule a visit within several days. The technician was a little late (8:30 AM vs 8:00 AM, I-270 traffic) but was very very courteous and professional. He replaced the faucet and was finished by 9:00 AM. No drama, no hiccups.

Shary's sent two repairmen: Mel at $125/hr and Eric at $50/hr. They arrived fifteen minutes late but the main office called on time to apologize and tell me they were on the way. The repairs were completed satisfactorily and Mel and Eric were courteous and responsive. Mel and Eric were at my house for about 1 1/2 hours but they only charged me for 1 1/4 hour.

Just days before Christmas I was looking for a plumber to install a new Toto toilet. Most companies did not call back and the ones who answered or called back nearly all said they could do it a week later. The receptionist, Sandy, could not have been more pleasant to deal with, and she agreed to send a crew the next morning. Chris and Mel showed up on time, and went right to work. They were polite, highly competent, and very professional. They completed the job in slightly over an hour. By contrast, one guy who bid $220 without seeing it, said that bid amount was because he would have to drive here, and he might not be able to install the new toilet in 30 minutes. I am convinced other companies would have charged $350-400 when they saw the broken flange. I highly recommend Shary's Plumbing. I just joined Angie's List and now am a big fan of Angie's List, Shary's Plumbing, and Toto toilets.

Timely, excellent work, price was very reasonable.
