I have used Solar Energy Services since they first installed my system. I have had them perform an overall review several times. Most recently I had one of the collectors on the roof spring a leak and of course called Solar Energy Services. They immediately dispatched a senior manager in the company to perform an overall review of my system so that they could inform me exactly what I needed. The visit was then followed up quickly by a technician to perform the repairs. His attention to detail and explanation for what he was doing, how to optimize my system and even checked some of the pool settings to ensure I was getting the most capability from the Solar System. I highly recommend this company and cannot say enough good things about their response, their office personnel, and the field technician. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

John Marrah was great. He was the only rep who understood completely and fully embraced my goals. The follow-on team of designers, installers, and project management were excellent. Professional, personable and knowledgeable. The paperwork was handled smoothly and right through final commissioning, everyone did what they were supposed to do. Our project had some unusual technical challenges and SES dealt with them flawlessly. I think I should mention that I ran my own engineering company for over 42 years. I'm in a position to judge this stuff.

It went like clockwork. The mechanic and his assistant were very professional and know their jobs. They listened to my concerns and corrected the issues without a hitch. The designer in their office was also quite professional and designed the re-string in a manner that was agreeable to me. I now have 1 of 5 inverters that could possibly clip power but on a much smaller scale. That inverter has 14 panels facing almost due West along with 9 panels facing almost due South so late day sun could clip but not so far. The service manager is also on top of her game. I had a problem with my "bridges" I believe they call them which enable me to have the system connect to the SolarEdge monitoring online. She walked me through a remedy over the phone and again I am back in business. Can't say enough positive about this company!

I have a Solar Hot Water system going on 8 years old which had stopped working. The manufacturer has since left the residential market and abandoned their customers making it virtually impossible to get service. After several painstaking google searches, I stumbled across this great little company and scheduled a service call. The tech showed up on time and after running through his checks, determined my original installer failed to fill the required amount of Glycol which caused what was in the system to go bad. He took the time to explain what was wrong in layman's terms, fix the problem and thoroughly clean up afterwards. A day later the company called to check and see if I had any problems or questions. My only comment was their employee was a great representative of their company. I without hesitation recommend their services. Finding someone knowledgeable with Solar Hot Water Systems is not a simple task.

The SES team was great to work with - from design to construction and post install services (SRECS) it was smooth. The process was turnkey and is now working as specified. Installation was done cleanly and the product and panels are top shelf. I would recommend this team to anyone considering a Solar project.

Amazing. Solar Energy Services Inc have been helpful from the beginning of the process all the way till the end. They are very responsive and helpful as well. Even when there were bumps in the road because of previous conditions in the home they were able to adapt and get the job done quickly. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Installed a turn key 7.98 KW system on my Southern facing roof on schedule and on budget. Everyone I dealt with including the sales professional; the system designer; the installers; and the office personnel who took care of all the paper work were totally professional, efficient and very flexible in answering my many questions and offering options where I asked for them. The only change I made to their proposal was to include the equipment necessary to hook up a battery system when those systems become cost effective. They took care of coordinating the installation of net metering equipment and paper work for both the net metering and SERC credits. The system went live in March but I have waited until not to write a review because Virginia does not provide the incentives that Maryland and other states do and we do have some trees in the area. I was skeptical as to how much sense it would make to install the system Alexandria and when I tried to get information from other home owners who had put a system in in this area I couldn't find anyone with any experience. The system went live in March. Based upon their analysis it made sense to do it now even with the projected 12 year pay back. I have very detailed utility records for the past 5 years and have kept detailed records on both my electric bill and the electricity generated since installation and based upon the performance I expect that the pay back period will probably be shorter than their conservative projection. The system is warranted for 25 years and I do not think you can find a better company to install a system or a better time to do so. (I did get 3 quotes which were reasonably similar and while Solar Energy was not the least expensive, they were far and away the most responsive and offered the best total package... the total cost does not reflect the 30% tax credit we will get..)

An excellent experience. Solar Energy Services was one of very few companies with the breadth of expertise to be able to provide and install ballast mounted solar panels that would not damage my roof, but would be safe in my high wind location. They offered me several fine options and a good price for a very comprehensive installation. Their sales manager was very well informed and came to our home to walk us through a variety of options and configurations for our house. He was very responsive to my many questions and emails and did a good bit of extra research to help me find exactly what I wanted. He thoroughly explained the many complexities that need to be considered for such a project, so that we felt confident about the appropriateness of the solution we finally chose to our site and our needs. His final estimate came quickly, and the contract met it to the penny, with no changes later. The planning, design, permitting and installation process were all very professionally handled, including interface with the utility company and meter installation, and were scheduled within a reasonable timeframe. We were regularly kept informed of progress via the sales manager. We got good advice from the owner of the company during the site visit when the final placement and logistics were determined. The only snag in the job resulted from the inability of a supplier to deliver the ballast mounts originally chosen on time, but a good substitute was quickly found and delivered, and installation only briefly delayed. The actual installation required particular attention to detail and workmanship in order to avoid damaging the plastic membrane covering the roof. I am very impressed with the care, precision and meticulousness displayed, inside the house and out. They left both house and yard as they found them, except that my roof now has gorgeous solar panels! The owner followed up with a walk through the system with us to be sure all was working properly and that we understood the equipment. We continue to receive follow up from the sales manager now that we have had the system awhile, to be sure all is going well. I would confidently recommend their services to a friend or family member.

John Marrah was exceptional from Start to Finish. He is highly professional and knowledgable. He was there before, during and after the installation and was able to answer all of our questions and concerns. We would highly recommend working with John and Solar Energy Services. From the very first meeting, you will know you are in good hands.

From beginning to end I was highly impressed and satisfied with SES. For context I received quotes from 6 local installers in MD. Lisa Walsh from SES was tremendous!!! She designed an excellent value system and was so responsive and nice in answering all of my questions. The installation team had a keen eye for detail and did not cut any corners. The system was installed flawlessly. The office team worked efficiently through the paper work, coordination with power company (BGE), and continues to be responsive with any questions. I have no reservation in recommending Solar Energy Services!!! In fact, I have already referred them to several friends that are interested in solar.

Lisa was the kindest, most patient person I talked to as I shopped for a solar installer. She made a very competitive proposal that I ultimately turned down in favor of one that was too good to pass up. But throughout the process, she diligently explained to me the benefits and drawbacks of various options. Unlike some others, she never badmouthed competitors or applied pressure. She carefully explored the different possible components to make me the best offer she could, which was meaningfully more economical than most of the ones I received. She was a joy to talk to, and if I hadn't gotten such a great proposal from another company, I would have eagerly jumped at the chance to work with her. Anyone would be lucky to have Lisa and her company as a solar installer.

John came out and was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He put together different options like I had asked him and gave me a better system at a better price than any of his competitors. He has all American panel options which is what I wanted.

Solar Energy Services is, hands down, the most efficient and professional solar installer in this region. Would not even hesitate to use them 1000 more times. Do not even bother looking for anyone else.

Solar Energy Services was a pleasure to deal with. They were polite and professional. They showed up when they said they would and responded appropriately if questions were asked or problems developed. They continued to respond quickly and do the work promised even after the last payment was made. They were very helpful in filling out the necessary applications for grants and refunds from state and local government agencies. I recommend them highly.

The installation required a high degree of technical sophistication with regard to roof integrity, permitting, and wiring challenges. Although the job took longer than anticipated, Kirk and his team were always responsive and courteous as we worked through some of the pitfalls and obstacles, the most crucial of which was whether my roof could support the weight of the panels. The actual installation was amazing to watch as the crew scampered around the roof, erecting panels in PERFECT linear arrays, hiding the wiring inside weatherproof galvanized piping. The siting of the inverters inside the garage similarly was done to our specifications to make it easy to monitor the system. The first month of operation was amazing - over 2 megawatts produced, resulting in savings of over $150. This fall, we have generated more power than we use, so a credit appears on our electric bill. SESI also applied for the Montgomery County permits (which was a drag) and the Pepco net meter installation (which actually was done came sooner than expected). Altogether, great job and the sleek black panels are BEAUTIFUL and blend in so well that no one even knows we have solar! The price we paid was less than quoted from other installers, too.

From start to finish, SES did a great job. They helped me choose the right system type, size and style for my particular situation. I never felt they were just trying to make a sale. Instead it was all about my wants and needs. They worked with the county on permits and with the utility on all the necessary paperwork and connections. SES was extremely responsive with the county inspectors, getting us through the permit process smoothly and quickly. The equipment installation was done very well. Not only am I generating lots of electricity, but the installation is neat and clean. Finally, all the other paperwork and administration to make sure I get my tax credits and SRECs was handled quickly, accurately and efficiently. Really can't recommend SES more highly. They seem to have the attitude of doing the right things for the right reasons.

Rich was great. He came out, inspected the roof, and spent about an hour walking through options and discussing the ins and outs of the solar business. He answered all my questions in a thoughtful, helpful way that 100% did not feel like a sales pitch. In the end, Solar Energy Services couldn't beat a pretty killer deal that another company was offering, and he was even up front and honest about that. So I'm sorry we couldn't end up going with them, but I really respect the work they did with us. I'd recommend them to anybody--they're experts, they're helpful, and they're honest. I think I was just in a bit of a unique situation with this alternative deal.

Rich at SES was great to work with and was glad to address any technical system questions I had in both a timely and professional manner. SES came within $2,600.00 (6.8%) of my best quote for my 13475 watt system and recommended Suniva panels over SolarWorld panels on a SolarEdge Optimizer/Inverter system. Suniva panels are probably nearly identical in terms of quality and performance though more testing information was available to me on the SolarWorld panels via my internet research which compelled me to select SolarWorld panels. Rich is very knowledgeable about many aspect and details of solar pv systems and his years of experience made me feel that I could completely rely on him and SES for a high quality system design, installation, and solid service after the sale. I did not get as flexible of a installation schedule as I was hoping for (I wanted a 1 month time frame from signing to get the system nearly completed (which I got from another installer). I perceived that SES had a great backlog of work and therefore was not as flexible on the final quote and was a bit disappointed that SES was not able to meet or beat my system quote. I would recommend others to check SES for their solar pv project and I would consider them for any future work I may have.

Responsiveness; Grade A, they quickly responded to the request for quote via Angie's list. Right on time for scheduled appointment. They then scheduled the Job. They called back and stated they could do the job earlier if that met my schedule. They arrived on time with 4 man crew Job Quality: A+. Brice was team lead. He walked through the work plan. I was expecting that they would run pipes along side of foundation and across the back foundation. Instead they did an excellent job of running pipes through crawl space and under raised deck to tie into the pool piping. Tech on control panel did a meticulous job of installing next to pool timer and running all control wiring Each installer was professional and knowledgeable on their responsibilities Reason for deciding on Solar: currently use propane gas heater. 12 yrs ago tank fill was $200 this year now $900. Used five tank fills last yea I expect to use the propane heater as adjunct to the solar panels,

Awesome...the only downside is the fact their office is in Millersville and they attempt to schedule calls around locations. So, if you're aren't in a hurry and can wait a bit expect a timeline that may not be immediate. However, when I called after not hearing back from them re. scheduling, they got me in the following week. If you have any solar system, they are the ones to call!

Great experience. They took the time to go through all of our options, worked well with the general contractor, and they stood behind the installation. SES even installed a plumbing part that, arguably, the plumber should have installed. SES didn't try to point fingers, they just did the work. They were very professional throughout and even walked us through the process of selling our solar credits. I recommend them very highly.

This was a major project, so we shopped around quite a bit. Solar Energy Services seemed to offer the best value and was best among the competitors about answering our questions (sales rep Rich Schroeder even responding to email inquiries at midnight). I believe we chose the right company: the system produces more electricity than estimated by other companies, at lower cost; installation was quick and hassle-free for us; all paperwork was completed and submitted to various authorities/utility company as promised; the system has been working perfectly for five months and has cut our electricity bill by 30 to 50 percent.

The service was good overall. At first, the water seemed to taste and feel a bit strange, but after some time, everything seemed to be okay. They were good with getting back to us and they didn’t disturb us that much while they were doing the work. They did a good job and we’ve been happy with the work!
