Mr. Handyman of Anne Arundel and PG County

The initial technician was punctual and courteous, but new to this sort of work, and a bit unsure of himself. When I expressed my concerns to Mr. Crysler, he didn't hesitate not only to thank me for letting him know, but to send a seasoned replacement. My response to Ken's work took only three words: "Can I keep him?" I am delighted with the work he did, and would recommend Mr. Handyman of Anne Arundel and PG County to anyone looking for craftsman-quality services at fair and honest prices.

The technicians showed up on time. They worked non-stop the days they were here. The work was done professionally, and they cleaned up after each job. I still have more that needs to be done and I will be calling them. I'm not sure I am being fair by marking them down a little on cost. I know I could have probably found other people cheaper, but cheaper was not really what I was looking for, I wanted to deal with the least number of people, for all then jobs, have the work done correctly, and if not done right, I wanted to be able to find them and have them come back.

Ken arrived at my home a few minutes ahead of schedule and presented his card. He quickly went over the list of items to complete; then, he got right to work. Ken completed all of the tasks an hour ahead of his departure time and did an impeccable job. I needed to go to the store to get two items for him to complete the toilet installation. When I returned from the store 15 minutes later, he had finished installing the range hood and found/reset the breaker for the bathroom outlets. He was very neat and everything works well. It was a job well done and a relief for me!

He did a fantastic job. I got a lot more value than I expected for the price that I paid. He was quick, thoroughly and knowledgable and it was a great experience. I would recommend him to anyone.

He worked so fast that I kept giving him new things to fix, which he did with almost no effort. I went shopping with my list and purchased the items needed to caulk my bathrooms, fix my forever running toilets, hang a storage shelf in my garage (re-purposed from my laundry room) repair loose tiles around my tub, determine why 2 items did not work and, again, more. Some might think the price is high, but if you organize your repair list and are ready to roll when they arrive, you can get a great bang for your buck. A smart move might be to make a list and send it to them before the visit. They have most things on their truck but other things you may have to buy. If you find you don't need it, you can just return it to the store. My Handyman Ken can fix ANYTHING and he works so fast you feel guilty for even calling him to do what he makes look really easy. I followed him around the house pointing out stuff to fix on future visits and he never said "No, I can't fix that". Not only did he say he could make the repairs, but he told me how to fix it, whether a prior repair by another company was done correctly or he just went ahead and fixed it on the spot. When he said it was time to go home, he asked my permission to leave....and kept on working even after I said it was ok to leave! I am SO happy with their performance. Before hiring Mr. Handyman I was thinking about downsizing to a smaller home because I was intimidated by the repair list. Not anymore. I will never let this company out of my sight. Bless you!

I contacted Mr. Handyman via their online form. I chose this company as they had worked on our home previously and we were quite happy with their service. Unfortunately, I have waited for over a week for Mr. Handyman to contact me regarding the request for service for I submitted online.

We thought the estimate was high, and we thought it was overpriced. That was confirmed by getting another contractor.

Went very well. They were on time and finished up very quick. They're very easy to work with. I manage a number of properties for various owners and have always been satisfied with their work.

It didn't. We did the work ourselves in the end.

see above....the person who came did caulk the downstairs shower, put up a shelf and tried to fix a light that did not work..but it was the fireplace that never got fixed b/c nobody followed up.

We found him on Angie's List. The experience was good. The price was really high and the reason why the price was so high was that the gentleman they sent was very slow, but he was really cautious and everything he did was wonderful. He did all the work well and did it exactingly. He was very professional and really kind. It was just that he was slow. He could not complete the work the day he came and had to leave and come back another day, and that was what increased our price by about $400 more than what we had expected to pay. It seemed like he was just trying to make sure that he was taking his time at being cautious but the work became slow. Everything was great except for the price, and I would definitely use him again.

Overall, they did a good job. Mr Handman was actually recommended to me but I read some of their reviews and I even spoke with the owner, so I had a good feeling about the company. As with any contractor, I tried to do my homework on them and I wasn't disappointed.

I made an appointment for someone to come to my house on 12/05/11 to provide an estimate to install four exterior motion sensor lights for my home. The appointment was for 3:30 PM. I received a call at about 2:00 PM of the same date from the company telling me that the person coming for the estimate was running late and if I could do it for 5 PM? I told the person on the phone that was fine. The person showed up at 6 PM. When I called the company at about 5:20 PM to find out where this person was, they didn't know but said they would call him. The estimator called within ten minutes and said he was coming from Glen Burnie, Md and would be at my home by 6:00 PM. He never apologized and blamed the person in the office for not notifying me that he would be late. When he got here at 6 PM, he again did not apologize. After he walked the site, he said the office would send me an estimate in the mail. I never received it. This lack of professionalism from this company was very surprising because when I used them before for other jobs, they were outstanding. Very disapointing with their lack of of service this time around.

The overall experience was wonderful and did a good job. His punctuality was perfect. He said he was going to be here at 8 o’clock and he was here at quarter to 8. The service technician, Jim Ellenberger, was wonderful and his professionalism was good. I would definitely recommend him.

Jim showed up on time, got right to work, made everything look nice, and was professional throughout. I'm not sure I'd say it was cheap, but I feel like I got my money's worth.

When our home was built, a contemporary, gas fireplace was installed, and the wood frame was already in place. However, there was no mantel. So, my husband and I purchased one with the intent of trying to install it ourselves. Considering the wood frame was already there, we decided to seek the services of Mr. Handyman instead, and we are so glad that we did. Within 24 hours of submitting our contact request through Angie's List, we got a call back. The representative (sorry, I cannot remember her name) was very courteous, and we even traded a couple entertaining DIY stories. She quoted me on the price and pricing structure (very reasonable, by the way), and we scheduled the service for the following week. A one-hour time window was given. On the actual day of the service, our technician, Eddie called me 30 minutes before the actual time window to say he was running late. I thought that was very professional and courteous, considering his call was well before the time window. He arrive within the first 10 minutes of the hour... not late at all, in my book. He was very patient and offered us the best solution for hanging the mantel, without damaging our walls. It took him, what felt like minutes to install the thing. And get this... he wore the little paper booties over his shoes! Thanks Eddie! Anyhow, we are totally satisfied with the service we received and we are happy to admit that we have found our regular handyman in the Mr. Handyman company.

They gave us a military discount, which was nice.

Several times I have received notices from my HOA of work that needs to be completed on my townhouse to meet their standards. I call Mr. Handyman and they are typically able to send someone out in a just a few days to complete the work. They have a friendly staff, their rates are good and the work is done well.

This was my second time using this company because I was pleased before. The first time I called, the owner of Mr Handyman answered the phone and he took the time to describe exactly which supplies I needed and what to ask for when I went to Lowes. He encouraged me to call back if I ran into trouble. The service tech was punctual, friendly, and professional. He arrived on time, I gave him my list and he immediately began working. I had purchased the supplies in advance, as they asked so things flowed smoothly. He also was good about cleaning up behind himself and protecting my floor from paint and dust. Before he left, he put things back in their proper place and made sure there was no trace of debris, nails, etc. Their labor prices are reasonable. The only minor complaint I have is that they mark up the price (for supplies) if they have to purchase the supplies for you. For example, a pack of insulation and the wood for the kickboard cost me $51. This is only an issue if you don't know what you need or know how to measure for it. I had this issue when I needed a part for my cabinet. I couldn't properly describe the problem and really wasn't sure what was needed. I needed the tech there to assess it. This issue can mostly be avoided because you can call Mr Handyman and the tech will do their best to explain what to get. As I said, this is a minor complaint because they do their best to describe what you need before they come out. Also, they encourage you to get the supplies yourself and tell you upfront that they will mark up the price if they have to purchase it. They are very clear about their prices, so there hasn't been any dispute or misunderstanding with them when I get my bill, which is another quality I appreciate. I was very pleased with the great customer service that I received when I called in to set up appointments and to inquire about the supplies needed. When you call in the office manager is responsive and helpful and will try to involve the tech if she's unable to answer your questions. Overall I am quite pleased with Mr. Handyman and will continue to use them. It's very difficult to find a good handyman service, I've had a few bad experiences. But I've added Mr Handyman to my speed dial and highly recommend them.

I had used this company in the past many years ago and they did a fantastic job but this time, they did not even respond to me, so I found myself quite disappointed. I contacted 1 other company off of your list and initially neither responded to me but eventually the 2nd company did and I found out the reason for the delayed response was over confusion in location (Hanover, PA and Hanover, MD), but by the time they did I had already found a new company not through Angies List. I had seen your numerous commercials and my best friend swears by your company but I am still on the fence.
