Mr. Handyman of Anne Arundel and PG County

Did a great job! They maintained contact with me throughout the whole process and let me know up front the scope of what they were going to do in the estimate. I like how they were able to incorporate the type of tile and the style of toilet right into their plans so that the whole process felt smooth and seamless. Actual cost was well within their quoted estimated price range. So pleased were we with their efforts that we hired Mr. Handyman again to replace some aluminum siding for us.

Harley arrived right on time, ready to do what ever needed to be done to make my house ready to put on the market for sale. He repaired water damage in the ceiling and walls, spackled, and repainted. The room looks like new. He also regrouted tiles in two bathrooms. He walked through the house with me and pointed out anything he thought could be done and completed to help pass inspection. He was amazing!!! He worked solidly for 5 hours and completed more than I had imagined he could. I used an Angie's list coupon from the company site. I was really happy with the responsiveness of this company and the high quality of work and professionalism.

Ken arrived exactly on time for the appointment. He was knowledgeable with installing kitchen countertops. At our request he came alone because my fiance acted as his assistant. As part of a two person team he was a pleasure to work with and it was very productive process. We would defintely use Mr. Handyman abd Ken again.

I contacted Mr. Handyman to come over to my father's house for a leaky pipe. Not only was he on time, he was early. He immediately assesed what had to be done and went about accomplishing the tasks. He was extremely professional and polite. He gave me a go-forward plan that was fair and accurate. I used Mr. Handyman before at my house and plan to use them in the very near future. I have said it before and it bares repeating: Mr. Handyman you guys rock!!!!

This is the 2nd time I've used their service and it was a great success. Unlike several other handyman contractors I contacted Mr. Handyman was immediately responsive to my service request and would have responded the same day had my schedule allowed. The handyman who arrived to do the work was knowledgeable, professional and diligent and the care he took with the job was very impressive. The fascia was reattached with numerous screws and will probably last longer than the house will. He encountered some difficulty with the decorative shutters but ended up re-fastening them with metal screws (instead of the plastic ones that come with the shutters). All the work was done in under 1 hour which kept my costs down. I will definitely use them again. I appreciate a company that doesn't complain about short little jobs like mine and is dependable and produces quality work. Well done.

Bill from Mr. Handyman came to repair drywall, hang door and fix soffit. He looked at drywall that needed to be fixed. He went outside and got ladder and looked at soffit. He went on my roof walked around and took pictures. He found a much bigger problem with water getting under my shingles from skylights. He found soft spots on my roof and that is why my soffit had buckled. Water damage. He thinks that is why my drywall is cracking. My roof is heavy from water damage. He recommended me calling a roofing company and having the roof fixed before the drywall repair. He put on my closet door. Bill was very honest and helped us find a problem that needed our attention. I have already used Angie's list to have roofing companies come out to look at our roof.

They did a nice job overall, no complaints.

Harley, the handyman assigned, was both timely and professional. He left the space neat and clean and the repair was done. In addition he provided recommendations on other areas upon request. I will be using them again.

He arrived a little after 8:00 am (which was great since I had just gotten up!) He introduced himself, he was very personable and he had me sign the paperwork to start. I took him on a tour of the items to be done and then he started and kept me informed as he went on. He asked questions along the way as well so that I was sure that everything was being done the way I wanted it. I had bought a big deal and he worked quickly to ensure that he could complete the job on time but at no point did I feel as though he was rushing to get anything done. At the end of the four hours, I had a brand new ceiling fan, a dishwasher that worked and a front light that worked...YEAH!!!

The person showed up at 8:30 and started the job. He hung around for several hours (after telling us it would only take an hour to fix), told us he needed to leave and come back, he never came back to finish the job and he never called. He left razors and nails all over our lawn (we have small kids). He seemed like a nice guy, but we are very disappointed. We just sold our house and the new homeowners moved in on June 30. We are not happy and neither are the new owners. We did reach out to the company and they are in the process of trying to fix it. It's not easy since we are no longer the home owners. Hopefully it gets fixed right and it gets fixed quickly.

They painted my old deck and they also stained it. I had him complete some other handyman work around the interior of my home as well. There were no additional costs beyond the price of the deal. There weren’t any issues with scheduling. One man came out to complete the work. Everything worked out well.

Initially, I was impressed with the reputable history (according to the reviews on Angie's list) of the company and the professional customer service from the scheduler. Typical handyman services were rendered (hanging picture, mirror, curtain rods, shelf in bathroom, change light fixture, caulking base boards of stairwell etc...) to include moving a couch from the living room to the basement. I purchased the 4 hour coupon from Angie's list for a 15% discount. I read the fine print on the coupon (2 hours for 2 men and 4 hours for 1 man). However, when I spoke with the scheduler regarding an additional person just to move the couch, she agreed that he would only be needed for 1 hour. Prior to the services being rendered, the scheduler did not inform me that there would be an extra charge for the additional person to assist with moving the couch. She just stated that "it would be fine" for an an additional person for the extra hour under the Angie's list coupon. After all services were rendered, I was charged an additional $127 for the additional person for 1 hour and "materials" (caulk and nails/screws). It was not made clear that caulk, nails, and screws were considered "materials." Items like light fixtures, fence hardware, and actual items to be installed, to me, are considered "materials." The technician was not the most professional person and all of the services on my list were not completed within the time frame I purchased. My list was given to the scheduler prior to the technician coming to my home. Overall, I would not recommend this company to any family, friends or foe. I have experienced better customer service, paid less than what I was charged and for a longer length of time than what I paid for with this company. The handymen I usually use were not available and I needed items done around my home prior to a function I was having the upcoming weekend. The Angie's discount was not a discount at all.

The office was courteous when scheduling, and prompt in providing service. The repairman had 15+ years of roofing experience and was able to knock out the job pretty quickly. He even took care of a couple small repairs he saw elsewhere on the roof while he was working. The total price ended up being half the original quote (note: I provided all my own materials). I would recommend, and would use again.

Omgosh ... where do I begin!!! I am absolutely amazed at what a great job that was completed today. Larry showed up 10 minutes before scheduled time, and immediately got to work. I had supplied the faucets & towel rods, so he started in the bathrooms. I didn't know what kind of screening material to get or the wood needed. Larry gave me the information, and as he was doing the work in the bathrooms, I went to store & got the screening material/wood. When I returned, he was almost done with the faucet in the 1st bathroom. He then replaced the double lock system on the front door. He then went downstairs & cut the wood trim for the balcony. Since it was pressure treated wood, it needed to dry out a bit. So, he went to 2nd bathroom & completed the faucet. When done, he went down & put first coat of paint on the wood, and came back up & put up the 1st towel rod. Back down he went and put 2nd coat of paint on wood. Back upstairs, he put on the 2nd towel rod. Once he was done with the bathrooms, he spent the rest of the time removing the old screening & wood strips holding it in place (22 years old), replacing the screening, putting in the wood strips & touching up where needed. I know this review is long & detailed, but there just are not enough words to say what a great job Larry did. And, he did all of the above in 8 1/2 hours! The entire time he was here, he was thorough & professional, answered all my questions, and cleaned up each area as he finished. I would have no hesitation at all hiring this company again. Trust me ... you cannot go wrong if you choose Mr. Handyman (and ask for Larry!).

Ken was wonderfully communicative and was extremely professional and efficient. We would recommend this company to anyone!

I have used them for a couple of times, both through Angie's List, and we have gotten some other value coupons and stuff from them. I have been always happy with them. They guy who came out the last time did the insulation work in the garage very well and then he had an extra time so I had to quickly come up with another thing for him to do and he did that quite well too. I did not end up spending any more than what I purchased the big deal for because I stayed within the hours that was included in the big deal even when I added an extra work for him to do. There was still an hour left of the time and the task that I had him do took up that time. He was here on time. It was not like he was dressed up like a professional handyman or whatever but his behavior was definitely professional.

Marc arrived on time, properly introduced himself, assessed the damage, drove to store to get wood and caulk, repaired door frames and caulked them. I supplied the paint which matched the exterior door and trim very nicely, thank you. He painted these for me. He told me to get the five hour coupon (to save money) for $452.00. It took 4 1/2 hrs which saved me $50.00 (they charge $100.00 per hour I think). I had other jobs for Marc to do if he had extra time. However none that would only take a half of an hour...dang it. This is what the receipt says: $501.00 labor, $47.08 for materials, $2.82 tax for total if $550.90. Then he took off 501.00 for discount, which left me with a $49.90 balance still owed. Ok. So out of pocket it cost 452.00 plus $49.90, totaling $501.90 for 4 1/2 hours of work. Did I save money using coupon? I'm not sure...lol, but anyway, Marc did a good job. He explained that the seal above the door had broken and rain water ran down the frame, settling and causing the problem. He repaired the seal for me. You can tell that the frame has been repaired and is not perfectly hidden, but it is fixed as well as it can be. I would recommend this company for home repairs. They were very professional, and they did good work. Thank you Marc and Mr. Handyman. Ok. About two weeks later caulk started coming off. However, when I called, they sent someone out within a day or so. He removed the caulk and replaced and said he would come back after a day or two, giving caulk time to dry before repainting. After a week or more, I had to call them to remind them and also to tell them that caulk was missing. I asked for someone like a supervisor to come and look at the work. They did send an experienced person who completely sanded and painted the entire job again. So far it looks good. Much better than the first, second and third time. Now even the bottom patch piece is barely noticeable. Once they had someone who knew their job, it was great. However, they did stay with it until it was , hopefully, done right. They aren't too good in follow up during their busy season, they should watch their summer help to make sure they know how to do their work, but they are nice to deal with even when there are issues. UPDATE-it is now a year later and I have to find another contractor to do this over yet again. The caulk is bulging out and is breaking up with large cracks. It looks like it has never been repaired. I'm so disappointed that I spent over $500.00 and now have to spend it again a year later.

He took down everything and rebuilt it for me in my garden area. He did an excellent job.

Harley Leigh was a great Mr. Handyman. He performed all the duties with expertise and precision. He was also quick but careful with his work. He certainly knows his stuff. I will definitely be hiring from this person/company again.

He did a fantastic job. It wasn't a straightforward job, because there were no studs behind the wall. The job was done perfectly and if I decide to move the TV, I still have finished and framed out recessed shelving

Harley was very professional, explained everything he was going to do, was very neat and tidy and prepared area to reduce any dust. Excellent work!

Got quote over the phone originally. Came out to my home on Monday to look at the job and determined the work was more than could be honored through the deal.

As always, Ken did an excellent job. My dogs just love him!
