Mel did a great job! He was able to work my job into his schedule before Christmas (a minor miracle) and the work was flawless. He knows his trade. Communications were easy, he did what he said he would with a tricky product and charged fairly what he estimated in advance. The paper is exactly on center and looks perfect at the seams and edges. He had some good suggestions for other installations that he'd seen with similar products in the home. I was very pleased and will definitely call again with my next project.

Pleased with quality of workmanship. Very precise, neat and professional. Appreciated the fact that he did not bring music to play while he worked or spend time answering personal phone calls or checking messages. He concentrated on the job without noisy distractions. Nor did he disappear for a long lunch break. He obviously took pride in his work. This was a very low stress experience with a contractor, for a change! Just one warning: he is in high demand so there may be a wait involved in scheduling - well worth it though.

He was prompt and courteous. Mel did the most incredible job I've ever seen! The seams are not visible to the naked eye. He is a perfectionist. I hired him for a second job on the spot. My contactor agreed that his work was second to none. Do not hesitate to hire him - unless it's when I need him.

This was an excellent experience. We called Mel late and we were trying to get the project done by Thanksgiving. He said he would fit us in between two other jobs, and he delivered on that promise. Communication was excellent, he called at least twice about the schedule for the work, and verified ahead of time what kind of wallpaper we were using, so he could bring the appropriate materials. To save time, we offered to prep the walls before he got here, and he told us exactly what product to use. He showed up on time, and did a meticulous job. He was done in about 3 hours. He had told us he had a minimum charge, but he charged us considerably less than that becuase it was such a small job, and we had prepped the walls. He was very pleasant on the phone and in person and we are very happy with the results.

We'd foolishly believed we could handle measuring and ordering enough wallpaper using this particular site's online calculator--painfully stupid of us on many counts, I can assure you. People, I'm telling you, do EVERYONE involved a favor and just have Mel come out and measure the project himself to spare his sanity, your pocketbook, and ultimately your project. What did the provider do? HIS PATIENCE, EXPERTISE, AND CRAFTSMANSHIP ABSOLUTELY SAVED OUR PROJECT, THAT'S WHAT HE DID!!!!! It's only one bedroom wall, but it's POSITIVELY PERFECT AND GORGEOUS, so much so that I refuse to hang anything on it so as not to ruin or hide all of Mel's hard work! He's so good, I can't imagine calling anyone else for any other wallpapering projects we have, which is why I was terrified that with all the aggravation we'd (again inadvertently, but he was still stuck dealing with the aftermath of our ignorance about the product we ordered) caused him, he'd refuse to work on any of our other projects, particularly because they all involve more screwy special order paper from the same company we'd just traumatized him with, but when I finally worked up the courage to ask Mel if we scared him away from ever working with us again, he said, "No, but I'll definitely want to come out and measure for you before you order the paper next time." PHEW! Crisis averted! And if you're wondering why, after all the drama, we'd get more special order paper from the same place, or why Mel would agree to do more projects using the same special order pain-in-the-butt paper, it's because it's flipping beautiful, that's why. Even after Mel saw that it came on a huge, long roll (literally like the ones upholstery fabric are rolled on and displayed in stores--yeah, weird, I know) and he realized it needed to be cut and trimmed into the right width for hanging, he said, "Well, I can at least see why you wanted it. It's really nice, even though I've never seen paper done like this before." He wasn't even sure what sort of adhesive he'd need or even be able to use on it, so Mel took the sample piece I'd ordered to work on it, but of course he's Mel, so he figured everything out and he said that getting the right adhesive for it and on it actually ended up being easier than he thought (which I know means that a mere mortal like myself would have destroyed not only the paper, but probably my floors as well, but that's okay, my ego can take it--especially when I'm gazing upon Mel's amazing work when I'm upstairs). If all this hasn't already scared you away or your curiosity is getting the better of you, and your wondering from where we get the crazy special paper, check out designyourwall.com. Great customer service when I had to call about getting some missing samples re-sent to me, and like I've gushed before, gorgeous and unique paper styles if you care to pay their prices. Regardless, whatever paper you've got and don't want to or can't hang yourself, spend your time and money wisely by getting Mel--I just hope his schedule isn't completely packed when we're ready for our next project!

Mel was a consummate professional. he was very careful when working. He took his time and did an excellent job. He showed up when he said he would and was very neat when working and cleaning up. He did an excellent job. I would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate hiring him again.

Went great. He is well prepared and he makes certain you are prepared as well. Be ready for a very detailed professional. He is friendly and very smart. He stripped the old paper, prepped the wall and papered the rooms. An interior designer (who we did not use) introduced us. For our family he has done big jobs, like a dining room and small rooms like a bedroom and closet. If you want ideas on paper styles - he will gladly offer that up as well but only if you ask him.

The overall experience was uplifting. I felt relieved to have such an experienced professional handling the wallpaper job. Mel and I got along right away and he new exactly what I wanted, in fact, he suggested I do the closet. I am so thrilled with the look of the wallpaper in the closet it is so unexpected and unique! I highly recommend Mel and I will certainly will hire him again! I can't find one thing wrong with Mel and I am so happy to have found such an honest, efficient and talented professional.

Mr. Specht came by our house to look at some very old wallpaper that we wanted to have removed. Over the phone he had mentioned that he doesn't normally remove wallpaper unless he is also contracted to put up new wallpaper, but he kindly agreed to consider removing ours even though we weren't putting new wallpaper up. As it turned out, our wallpaper situation would have required a lot of time to rectify (and thus been very costly) and was not something Mr. Specht wanted to tackle. (I completely understood his refusal; I called him because I didn't want to do it anymore myself. Removing painted-over wallpaper is a very tough job.) However, he gave us great advice on other ways to handle the problem at low cost. He was very professional and courteous. I'm not a wallpaper kind of person myself, but I will definitely be recommending Mr. Spect to anyone I know who is looking for someone to put wallpaper up in their house.

Removing the wall paper from the walls was very difficult, but he did a fine job. He was meticulous in matching the patterns of the new wallpaper. He was very neat and clean.

Mel was very polite, diligent about returning my phone calls, on time, did the work very quickly, did an excellent job, and was reasonably priced. Would call again anytime.
