I had J & R do some plumbing work needed for installation of an irrigation system a few weeks ago. At that time, I mentioned that I needed a plumber to move a gas line and a water line for a deck I was having installed. Chris (from J & R) said that was their specialty and that he would be happy to do the work. I will say that the work he did for the irrigation system was just fine. When I called to get the gas line, water line, and a utility sink installed, I was told it could be done on August 20th. I was called on August 15th to be told that they would have to delay it by a day because of some recent rain. I told them that would be OK but I could not delay it any further because my contractor building the deck needed the work done by then. I was called the morning that they were supposed to do the job to be told that a bigger job (i.e. more important to them) had come up and that they couldn't get there until the next day. By the time I talked to my contractor to find that was OK, they told me they couldn't get there for a week. So, the lesson learned here is that, while they do decent work, they will get to it when they want to and, if you are not a big customer for them, don't expect to get it done on your schedule. I've had to scramble to get another plumber who can do the job. If a schedule is important to you, don't go with J & R!
Description of Work: Tried to have the company relocate natural gas line and water line.

His attitude was arrogant from the start. For the hydrant he used what was on his truck rather than what would have been proper. He admitted the tall ugly hydrant was all he had available and when I asked him to purchase and install a more suitable one he promised he would. He never followed through. Fast forward 18 months, May 2012, my pool heater didn't work and it turns out he never installed a regulator. Days later when another plumber was at my house, we discovered in my back yard the section of gas line Chris had removed from the house. Chris hadn't removed the majority of the old gas line and I paid the new plumber to remove and dispose of it. Of course I had already paid Chris to do both 18 months ago.
Description of Work: Chris Basciano installed the gas and water lines for new in-ground pool and gas grill. He also added a yard hydrant and was contracted to removed an old gas line from side of house.
