Haas and Sons Electric Inc

Nick was courteous, professional, and explained the options available, and gave me an estimate before he left. Then he hit me with an $89 service charge. Of all the communications I had with Haas and Sons Electric, only one mentioned the $89 service charge, and that one was not clear, at least to me, that it applied to giving an estimate. I understand that it costs money to send someone out to give an estimate, but there are plenty of electrical contractors who consider providing an estimate as a cost of doing business. Of course, they recoup this cost if they get the contract. Based on that, you might think that Haas and Sons Electric Inc’s estimate of work would be lower, but it was far from being the lowest. I have had work done on my roof, bathrooms, kitchen, and floors, and this is the first time I have ever been charged for an estimate. Obviously, my rating can’t apply to the quality of work done, since there was nothing more than an estimate.

We needed to replace our deck dome light with a ceiling fan light because yellow jackets were able to get into the dome light to make two nests. Exterminator removed the nests, we bought the ceiling fan with light and called Haas and Son Electric. After explaining our issue, they gave us a next day appointment and Nick was here first thing this morning. He did a great job, had an electrical box on the truck that needed to hold the ceiling fan, and even applied silicone around the top to assure yellow jackets couldn't get in. We have used Haas Electric and Sons in the past and as senior citizens, we need a company we can trust and that is affordable. Highly recommend.

Chris gave us many service level options and even managed to get us a break on the permit price. Quick work and very responsive with any questions. Haas and Sons will definitely will be our go to for any future electrical work. Maybe a bit pricey for the work, but they seem competitive compared to others.

I was having electrical problems throughout my house. Some appliances worked, some didn’t. Some lights were too bright sometimes, others were too dim sometimes. Some electrical outlets worked, some didn’t. Chris was courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem in about 15 minutes and called BG&E himself to arrange for BG&E to send a repair truck out to my house, since the problem was a damaged power line leading into the house (specifically, the ground/neutral wire had been severed from rubbing up against a tree).

They came two hours early and my mother in law had to come let them in since I was going to be there for another two hours. They requested more information through email to give me an accurate estimate and I provided everything they asked. I followed up multiple times with them and provided everything they needed. They never provided me an estimate and completely wasted my time.

Haas technicians installed a ring pro doorbell in place of the intercom panel on the exterior of my home. The intercom works within the house and the doorbell works through the ring device. I am pleased with the aesthetics on the outside of my home and more importantly with the operation of the doorbell. I have used Haas for previous work and highly recommend Haas for any electrical services.

I called to setup an appointment to get an estimate to do a heavy up and I was told there would be a $29 fee to come out and give a quote. I asked if they could give me a ball park figure over the phone and was told no. I would think for a job $2-3K job the fee would be waived or at least applied towards the job (I didn't ask if it would be, I just assume it wouldn't be).

It went very well. Jason arrived right on time (a little early if I remember correctly). He took care of everything very professionally. In addition, he gave me a lot of information about the wiring in the house, which I very much appreciated. Haas and Sons is now my go-to electrical business.

Paid for the person to check to see what was needed. He promised to let me know by E-mail the evening after his inspection(May 10, 2018) if they could locate a motor for the fan or the price of and new fan. A week passed and I did receive any communication from the company. I called the company on May 18 and the person could not answer my question but told me that someone would call me. No call. Now I will have to find another company and pay for service fee. I wasted my time and money dealing with Haas and sons.

I could not be more pleased with the professionalism and great service from Chris. He arrived promptly last week to look at jobs and provide estimate, even pointing out some code violations that I need fixed since I am putting my house on the market. The emailed estimate was prompt and reasonable, broken down by task. Today he spent the entire day working on the long list of items, not leaving until all completed (indoors and out), ensuring all old fixtures were taken away. communication was great along the way, both electronically and in person. HIs scheduler was wonderful to deal with as well, and also sought feedback from estimate experience. Bottom line, I cannot recommend Chris enough. I love supporting small businesses as well.

Mike was exceptionally professional and courteous with our house. He went out of his way to ask permission for any step that might cause concern for us. He overcome difficulties with the pendants we provided and figured out an effective way to complete the job. He was exactly the kind of professional you hope for when you schedule a new contractor. We look forward to having them back.

Outstanding, they are my first call when I need electrical work done.

Overall I was very satisfied with my experience. They responded to my call quickly and gave me a detailed quote.The recessed lighting (which was the main project) was installed with minimal drywall damage and looks great. They also provided me the contact information for a handyman who they knew would be able to do the minor drywall repairs to my textured ceiling. I was less happy with my bathroom vent fan installation. Since the bathroom is in the middle of the second floor of my rowhome, I had made it clear that they would either need to outlet it through the roof or run the outlet through the ceiling of a bedroom to outlet out the back wall. They quoted me a price for this extra work and told me it could be done. However once they started working they realized they couldn't outlet it through the backwall and were unwilling to outlet it through the flat roof. They still installed the exhaust fan, but it now outlets into the gap between the ceiling and the roof. It's been a headache trying to get someone to do the outlet install; in the mean time and I have a plastic bag taped over the exhaust fan to try and prevent any steam from getting into my walls...but I have no idea how well that's working. Since there was a line-item for the outlet install, they immediately agreed to lower the price when that work was not done. The electrician, Mikey, was very respectful and did to very good work, but he was usually arrived about an hour later than I was told he would. I'm not sure if that was a problem with him or a miscommunication back at the office. Moral of the story: if you need something that's strictly electrical, these guys are great. If you need something that requires electrical + another area of expertise...you might be better off with a handyman or general contractor.

Mike was like an electrical detective! He hunted down the problem with the outlet (not an easy task) and replaced the outdoor motion sensor light. He was knowledgeable (better than the store that sold me the unit and bulbs) and recommended different bulbs-which I furnished. Thanks to him, I have security in my house, and I'll have Christmas lights outside!

It went great. Chris (master electrician and owner of the company) did a fantastic job as did his new employee Mike. I will call them again if I need any electrical work done around the house and will recommend this company to my friends in the area They also honored the coupon on the Angie's List site so I received a 5 percent discount.

Chris was fantastic to work with! He came out the day I contacted him and fixed everything promptly. If we need any electrical work done in the future, we will definitely call him.

They did a fabulous job, I was expecting to have to vacuum or touch up the paint on the ceiling but there was nothing that needed cleaning or touch up afterwards. The fan looks great, and I will definitely use this company for future electrical work. No need to shop around when you find a good company.
