Description of Work: Provider measured and picked up three small Oriental-style rugs for cleaning. Gave price at the time, which I appreciated. Rugs were returned, rolled, in about a week, sooner than estimated. Two of the rugs (wool) were fine. The third, of a lighter thread (silk?), had many threads pulled out, and colors were different. When I called about the color, the pick-up man came to my home and brushed the nap, which seemed to restore the color. He explained the final combing after the cleaning had pressed down the threads so one color could not be seen. (The rug is lighter in one direction, darker in the opposite.) Why could they not have told me to try that when I called? Instead I had to stay home waiting for him.I am still picking up loosened threads.

Dear Member, Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address your concerns. We place high expectations on the level of service our company provides, and it sounds like we may have missed the mark in your case. The intent was to keep the burden off of you by coming back to your home to see the rug and address the issues in person. We certainly didn’t intend to cause you any undue stress waiting on our personnel. Please accept our apology and know that anytime you need an exact time of arrival from our team, we’re happy to oblige. We pride ourselves in prompt, courteous and FREE house calls; no 4-hour windows from us! As we discussed on the phone and at your home, your rug is a machine-made construction with a design flaw that causes face yarn to let go over time. The manufacturer applies an adhesive to the back of the rug in an attempt to keep those fibers in, but as the adhesive breaks down over the years, threads will begin to pull free. Certainly cleaning can loosen additional fibers, and we’ve used the most gentle method available. Unfortunately the age of this rug and the construction mean that the loose threads you’re experiencing today will continue to be an issue for the life of your rug. While our pre-cleaning photos clearly show many loose threads, we’ve now re-groomed the rug and removed all the loosened threads we see by hand at no additional charge.
