Description of Work: Upon recommendation, I contacted Charles Brenneman of Cedar Square Homes to discuss the building of my single story one-room addition (262 sq.ft.). For the same job, I contacted a total of 4 contractors. I received proposals from $40,000 to Mr. Brennaman's whopping $88,000. I waited for his proposal to the detriment of getting my addition scheduled to be built. When I contacted him to get my proposal, he seemed did not even have the details correct, as he was talking about moving a hose bib which was not part of the job and which made me wonder how many other details were not correct. I did not get a written proposal but a number over the phone. | |When I met with Mr. Brenneman, I even asked him if this was a job that he would consider or if it was too small for his company so that no one's time would be wasted. I feel that he gave me such an outrageous price because he had other, more lucrative work and he did waste my time waiting on his proposal. His price was truly outrageous considering that the proposal did not include HVAC, electrical, finished flooring or the windows and doors that I had chosen. It did not include any plumbing either, since there is not plumbing for my addition. Obviously, Mr. Brenneman decided that he did not want my job as maybe he is flush with work at the moment, but I would never consider this company for future work--nor would I recommend them to others. I did not appreciate having my time wasted and consequently having my addition delayed when I even asked Mr. Brenneman up front if the job was something he would consider.
