He arrived on time (a bit early!) and was efficient. He was able to take down broken ceiling fan and hang new one without any problem. Unfortunately, because the new ceiling fan turned out to have broken electronics, we spent most of his time trying to get it to work before he ended up calling the manufacturer to find out it was broken. Totally not his fault and he was patient as we tried over and over to get the fan programmed to run properly. Then he stayed long enough to go over items we wanted done around the house so he could send me a quote in email for the extra work. We did not end up doing the extra work as I was not happy with how it needed to be done based on his descriptions (breaking open interior walls, going through our stone exterior, etc). We have not gotten other quotes on this work so I don't know if his pricing was good or not.

We called to schedule the big deal, and almost immediately received a call back, and found Bayside to be very flexible and accommodating. They arrived right on time. They were very efficient, did their work quickly and effectively. They were able to do so much more than we thought could be done within the allotted time.
Description of Work: We bought the Big Deal for two hours of electrician time. Two electricians came to do this work. They repaired several non-functioning electrical outlets and several sets of recessed lights where we had made many efforts in the past to get working.

I heard of this company through a personal referral, and have been quite happy with their work and my interactions with them. They were prompt and responsive in regards to the initial quote; while I don't think they were my cheapest quote, I believe their price was reasonable, and after having the work completed, I'm very satisfied that we had everything done as quoted. In our initial walk-through, I was able to ask questions about potential projects and cost-benefit of various options, which was helpful as we had just purchased this home and had a lot of work to get done (and to prioritize). I prefer to do as much online as possible, and received quotes and final invoices via email; I was able to reach the owner via email or phone without a problem, and when leaving a voice message or sending an email, received a response within a reasonable amount of time (I believe within a business day in all cases). They worked around other vendors as needed during a very hectic week or two (we had movers in and out, plumbers, electrician, flooring, drywall/painters, etc); very professional. We plan to use them again when we next have some electrical work in our home repairs budget! UPDATE Oct 2013 I had several exterior lights and a breaker issue that I needed their assistance with - as previously, they were able to schedule my small job in within a day or so. Unfortunately, one of the exterior lights was missing some hardware, so they were not able to install the final one. Tony was great though - he told me to give him a call when I was able to exchange the item, and as long as I was flexible, he would just swing by between jobs and get this installed (no additional charge). Cant say enough good things about working with him!
Description of Work: replace all outlets on ground and first floors; add GFIs to bathrooms; switch 240v to 120v plug to facilitate switch from elec to gas stove; move light switch in closet (capping one; adding another);

We called to schedule a estimate and they were over in 15 minutes ... very quickly assessed our needs. On the day they came to do the work they were quick, efficient and tidy ... very professional (sir and ma'am) too. They ran into a couple of unforeseen issues with previous work done by another owner (our existing fan didn't actually have an exhaust outlet and the switch box was in bad shape.) They improvised and took the extra steps necessary to fix the previous issues and did a great job explaining what they had done. These guys are pros, professionals and I would highly recommend them. I will use them again.

He came, he checked, he looked at circuits, he tested, he turned off the power, he opened up the outlet, he replaced a part, he turned on the power, he tested again - bada-boom bada-bing - he put everything back together - done. That's what I wanted, that's what I got, no problemo. It was quick and it was on a rainy day, but he came anyway and worked outside the house - it came down hard just as he was leaving.

It went very well. Tony (owner of Bayside Electric) was scheduled to be at my home between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm with a phone call prior to arrival. He called at about 8:00 am and ask if he could come early. I of course said yes. He arrived at 8:30 am. We went into the house and I explained what outlets we were having problems with. He analyzed the problem, found incorrect wiring on a GFI outlet, corrected that wiring problem and installed a new outlet at another location on the outside of the house. He was in and out in about 30 minutes.

Tony from Bayside electric was terrific from start. He called and had me scheduled an appointment. He was on time and very professional. I had @10 switches/receptacles that needed to be replaced. He did a fantastic job. He also helped us to remove a ceiling fan and adjust the doorbell frequency. The doorbell used to ring by itself. Now no more nuisance of the bell ringing by itself .I had this angieslist 99 $ coupon for 2 hours.

Tony had given us an estimate for another job regarding switching from gas to electric appliances, but we decided to stick with gas and didn't call on them a few weeks ago. However, this time, we knew we needed a new outlet and circuit for the A/C unit, so we called back and just set up the appointment. Tony and another employee were very punctual and performed the necessary service promptly. They were here for about an hour, so I was a little surprised at the price, but from what I understand, that is the going rate for the service provided, I suppose.

It went extremely well. They showed up on time and did more then we ever hoped for in the two hours we had contracted for. They were professional, courteous and did great work. They were a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: The electricians took down a hanging light fixture in the breakfast room, and put up a brand new hanging light fixture. They then hung the hanging light fixture they taken down and installed it in an upstairs closet. They also installed a ceiling fan with a light fixture out in our screened in porch. Additionally, they repaired two outside light fixtures that had stopped working, and they also replaced two globes over hallway lights. Finally, they noticed a outside door handle that was loose, and without being asked, they got a special tool and tightened the door knob.

I bought the Angie's List deal for Bayside Electric (2 man hours of labor for $99) - I figured it would be a good way to cheaply gauge the quality of the work before I signed them up for more significant work. They arrived right on time and went right to work. They finished installing a ceiling fan (I did the mechanical installation but left the electric work for them) and installed a new outlet (lines were already run for them). We then walked around the house for about 15 minutes and they gave me their opinion on a few other items I've been considering getting done. They said they will send me a written estimate in a day or so. Nice guys, good workers and gave honest opinions about my options. If their estimates are reasonable I'll certainly have them perform more work for me. Great experience.

I originally purchased a Big Deal for 2 hours work. Tony contacted me promptly and we discussed the additional work that I wanted done over and above the Big Deal. Tony has a pleasant, professional demeanor, is very responsive both by phone and email and arrived promptly to do the work. I really like the fluorescent fixture he choose for my garage lighting; it is the correct size and power for what I needed. Some creative wiring had been done with the previous inadequate garage lighting and Tony fixed that and made sure both the garage and outdoor security light were now wired properly to obvious wall switches. I also particularly like the generator switchover he choose and he had great suggestions as to what particular circuits to add to the switchover. Picture of that work is here (http://tinyurl.com/lneznq3) showing a nice clean installation of the device with its ability to switch individual circuits and the long black cable that can then be connected to the generator. I only rated Bayside a 'B' for price as I had received a quote a year earlier for a generator cut over that was quite a bit less. However, the quality of the materials to be used and the 'cleanliness' of the other electrician's work was not up the same standards Tony employed so I'm satisfied that the price was quite fair and correct.
Description of Work: (1) Portable generator hook up: Supply and Install ( 6 ) circuit manual transfer switch. ($869.00) (2) Supply and modify 10' power cord specific to current generator ($0.00) (3) Supply power inlet for customers generator to hook up ($0.00) (4) Add 2x4 4 tube fluorescent light in garage. Add wall switch to control light. ($450.00) (5) Replace ballast in kitchen fluorescent light using customer supplied ballast ($0.00) (6) Correct faulty wiring in wall switch to security light ($0.00) (5) Angie's List Discount (from Big Deal) (-$131.90)

It didn't go well. The gentleman was very rushed and did sloppy work. In fact, my husband who is an engineer had to go back and redo the work himself. Ultimately, the gentleman could have been honest about what he could accomplish in the 2-hour timeframe, and he could have done a much better job.

Response from Bayside Electric Co
When we left the home, customer seemed very happy. Customer never made any attempt to call our company to say they were dissatisfied. There were some issues about the way the puck lights had to be installed, the wires were not rated for behind the wall use, therefore we had to run them exposed, customer supplied the lights, we did the best we could for what we had to work with, we tried to stay within the 2 hr deal, I think we went a little over and we had to use a little of our own material. Some drywall had to be cut, no way around that. I wish the customer would have let us know that they were unhappy with the job, like I said, the customer seemed very happy when I left.
