Bailey & Shipp Electric

It started out a bit rough, as the technician hadn't shown up 30 minutes after he said he would. I called the front office, they had him call me - long story short, his previous job ran long and he wasn't going to be there for another 2 hours. I had planned my day around this and was not too happy about it. However, after speaking with the manager at their office, he agreed to throw in an upgrade to LED bulbs for the 4 lights because of the delay. Fair enough. When the technician got here, he was professional and efficient. Our recessed lights look great!

They did a beautiful job. He was on time , organized and very pleasant.

First contact was with J.P. the sales manager, who was exceptionally helpful and professional. The remainder of the job was accomplished by Matt, the Project Manager. He provided outstanding work in every facet of the project. He insured every detail of the job was accomplished first rate. J.P. informed me it would be two weeks before start date to obtain permit and parts and it would take one week do do the job. Matt made sure that the work, permits and inspections were accomplished within that time period and kept informed of each phase of the project. I would highly recommend Bailey & Shipp. They exceeded my highest expectations workmanship and professional. They should have an A+ rating.

Called to install thermostat and repair pool electric box. The first scheduled visit the technician he didn't need to come out for an estimate due to the fact he could discuss it over the phone. What he didn't know was the property was recently brought, and we live over an hour away and drive to the house for an appointment no one showed up for. AFTER speaking with the office I was told there was a miscommunication and many apologies, reluctantly I rescheduled and actually spoke with technician in detail about what needed to be done...I even sent pictures. At the second scheduled visit, another technician was sent whom knew nothing of what needed to be done. This he has to go get supplied to complete the job- ( I was charged for this time to get them) .. upon his return he completes the pool electrical repair but used parts that I specifically asked the previous technician NOT to use. I would later have to replace it myself. Inside a second technician installed a new thermostat, we later found there is a connection problem somewhere.... the thermostat has power butdoes not operate with hvac properly. All this to the tune of 525! I was charded 125.00 an hour for each technician! Never got an estimate to prepare for it or even told that charge an additional fee for credit use. I will never, never call or recom

This was a Sunday morning emergency call. The owner, JP, answered the call himself. He was VERY professional. We recently sold a home. The new homeowner had just moved in and realized a GFCI circuit that we installed ourselves wasn't working properly. We were notified of this thru our respective realtors, and agreed we should correct the issue. We called Bailey & Shipp to perform the work. As stated above, this was a Sunday call, and needed to be fixed right away. JP took the call, and went to the house himself. He even addressed a few other questions the new homeowner had. If you need electrical work, not calling Bailey & Shipp would be a disservice to yourself.

The main thing is the work was beautiful and careful and just what I wanted - A grade. Ashton gave good recommendations on how to light each room, performed careful work, and careful clean up, too. There was a scheduling hiccup, and two small price adjustments promised were not reflected in the final bill, so I had to remind them about those; B- grade for those categories. Scheduling email confirmation in advance was very helpful. It confirmed that I had the big deal and wanted a price on other rooms. With an older home I know there are lots of extra costs, and there were, but that is not limited to Bailey and Shipp. Ashton arrived on time on a Friday and gave a professional and helpful walk around with estimate for the extra work. It was higher than I expected, but the research I did convinced me it was still very competitive. He had not seen the information I had provided in advance, a list of extra rooms on the email reservation, so when I okayed the extra work after the walk around and estimate, he had to call in for another employee and more parts. When the main job, the "great room," was finished, it transformed the room with the warm lighting. I was excited to see the other rooms. The two closed up the job that Friday evening before they started a new room, to keep the mess to a minimum. The new helper had started on lower priority rooms, so I would have to wait to see the results in the MBR for when they returned. The return trip was supposed to be the next work day (Monday) but when I called Monday I learned it was not on the schedule yet. Ashton came back a week later to finish the rest of the work. It looks great. I showed him a cheap picture frame that had gotten broken, and he was very apologetic and promised to take it off the bill. The experience that left a bad last impression was when the bill came, because it did not include all the price adjustments we had talked about the week before. He had taken careful notes, so I know he had the information. I can't help but wonder if he really forgot or if it was a purposeful negotiating tactic. He did make the changes when I reminded him. So I felt like I was quibbling which I didn't like, but I knew if I said nothing I would like that less. I should have taken my own careful notes, but I had not. On a final thought, some holes in the wall that were necessary to access the electric system, which I thought they would repair, were just covered with light switch plates, so that is another item for an Angie's List Big Deal someday, since I don't have the tools to repair it myself.

Everything went great. The guys did try to sell me the LED lights for a significant amount more which I felt was not appropriate but I guess they have to try to make more money, when possible. The same LED inserts could be purchased at Costco for a fraction of the cost. Other than that, the guys were professional and quick in completing the work.

Very well. They showed up on time and did the work expeditiously. I liked the work, so contracted with them to do some additional electrical work -- replace outside motion detector setup, install new receptacle, install ceiling fan, install whole house surge protector, and some misc stuff. They showed up promptly and did the additional work as professionally as the original install.

Excellent. They had to charge us extra for wiring on the ceiling. Very professionally done.

I would've preferred to correspond and schedule the work via email, or Angie's list messaging, but I had to call to schedule the appointment. Not a huge deal, but I realize that the main reason for this was probably just to attempt to upsell me on an upgraded product above and beyond what I would receive in the Big Deal (CFL bulbs standard vs LED). The cost of the upgrade they pitched me on was absolutely not worth it IMO as it almost doubled the price, although I believe my parents bought the same deal and DID take advantage of the upgrade and weren't disappointed. We bought this deal to make our house more attractive for potential buyers as we are selling it. My only complaint is that we had just had our ceiling mudded (to fix some drywall damage from a water leak) and painted a few days prior to this work. If I had known that the drywall would be further damaged with holes to pull wires, or other necessary parts of the recessed lighting installation process, we would've waited to do the ceiling repair and re-paint until after. I saw the holes they were drilling while I was there for the first few minutes after they arrived to do the work, but I figured they would be fixing the damage they caused. I was shocked when I came home and saw that all of the damage was there, and it wasn't fun to have to call my painter and pay him to come back and fix it and re-paint. I don't recall this being disclosed anywhere in the fine print of the big deal.

Ezcellent. Originally bought big deal for 4 recessed lights added two more and led options. Then added other lights w3 needed put up. No issues once we were called back. Nice worker and great job.

We're so happy with our newly installed lights. The men that came to do the work were professional and fully explained what they were going to do and the different types of lights that were available. We ultimately chose the LEDs, and we're glad we did. The job was completed quickly, and the men cleaned up everything before the left. They even vacuumed our floors! I will definitely use Baily and Shipp Electric again for any future electrical work we need done.

The technician who installed the lights was terrific. He was courteous and the work Jesus turned out great. I was really frustrated, however with my communications with the owner the night before the service was performed. I purchased the Big Deal on Angie's list and did not interpret the fine print correctly. It said if there was not an existing light switch that there would be an additional charge. Well we had an existing light switch but it turned on the light plugged into an electrical outlet, not an overhead light fixture. So at 6:45 the night before the service was to be performed (at 8-10 am the next morning) the owner informed me that if there was not already an overhead fixture then there was an additional $125 charge. (That's a 50 percent increase over the $249.). It was past the 30-day refund period, so What could I do? Worse, when I said I wasn't expecting that and it wasn't clear to me in reading the big deal, the owner said "well you're the only one who hasn't understood it and it's only $125, it's not a big deal." Um, $125 is a big deal. And we've paid $249 to other companies to do 4 recessed lights as Angie's list of deals and they had no add-ons for the same work in another bedroom and in our family room. It was just the $249. Moreover, there was easy access to any wiring from the attic for this job, so I don't know why the cost was $125. On responsiveness, they took 1.5 months to get back to me on scheduling the job after I purchased the big deal. We weren't in a rush, but it did push it beyond the cancellation period. I would give the tech an A for professionalism but the company a C for the last minute conversation around the additional cost.

Lights are nice, but they left a big hole in my ceiling.

Initially did not show up for appt. When rescheduled, service person drilled holes for lighting. When ductwork found, he hold me he would not patch up holes, and that pencil markings would be my responsibility.

The job went smoothly and was completed in about 3 hours. Both workers were obviously experienced, efficient and personable. They installed the lights without damaging any drywall, so no patches needed. The LED lights are bright but not too white or glaring. The dim switch works great.

The two electricians were prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. The installation was done quickly and they left the work area very clean. Very pleased with this job, and with Bailey&Shipp Electric. Would definitely use them again.

The electricians were great. Ashton called in advance and told me of the ETA and he and a helper arrived precisely when he said they would. They got to work promptly, made sure to put down drop cloths over furniture and the floor, installed the lights, and cleaned up afterwards. I was very pleased at the results.

The experience went well. I purchased a big deal for four recessed lights installed in our kitchen with a dimmer switch. The deal includes standard lights, but we paid extra to upgrade to the LED lights, which look great and need a dimmer because they're super bright. The LED lights have a really nice finish to them. The deal is really ideal for somewhere where you already have a light of some sort operating, that way they can jump off of that wiring. The guys were done in less than 2 hours. They brought a large dropcloth and kept the area pretty clean. They were extremely polite and professional, scheduling was a breeze, and I'm keeping them on my short list of favorite contractors.

Great. They were slightly late arriving but had called ahead to let me know, it was no problem at all Once they arrived they set up and went straight to work. Two very friendly guys who worked very quickly. The whole job took about 2-2.5 hours and they cleaned up as well. Once done I had a look and I was blown away. The lighting looks great, they'd put in a nice dimmer switch which works perfectly and the light was amazing. It was actually much brighter than I had expected and it looked great. I am so happy with it and I'd definitely use them again. Very friendly, very efficient and best of all, no hidden charges or problems, just great quality work. A plus all the way.

The men arrived on time and were very professional. They got the job done quickly and we were pleased with how it turned out. We will definitely use them in the future for other projects.
