If you see this guy run and do not give him any money. I gave him $1300 to replace my Heating system which he said total cost would be $1800. He was going to take my old unit which wasn't old but brand new and take off $200.00. He took my unit, never did the work, told me a sob story about his life and assured me he would give me my money back. To date I have never received any money, no work was ever done and my heating unit was stolen. I have to file suit against him. Do not trust this person he will scam you out of your money.

Michael Dawson of M&D Heating & Air gave us an estimate to replace our HVAC system because he said it was about to fail. We were getting ready to leave for a vacation and needed the house to stay cool for our dog. I signed the contract under the understanding that he would complete the job by a certain day. On the day they were supposed to come, he calls and says his truck is broken but he thought he would be able to get it fixed that day and it wouldn't put them too far behind. As the day wore on it became apparent they weren't going to be able to make it the day we needed him to start. I made a suggestion for him to rent a truck but he said his insurance wouldn't allow it. I said I would rent the truck and he could reimburse me but he kept saying his truck was about fixed. I suggested he have his crew of 3 or 4 guys come over to start the project but, believe it or not, not one of them had a car so they couldn't transport themselves to our home. By now I know I'm getting the run around and they're probably working on another job. He had an excuse for everything. So now I have to start thinking about changing my travel plans ($ for changing reservations) and send the family on ahead without me the following day. Dawson finally shows up the following day in the late morning and pretty much finished the job (except for a missing furnace hose he had to order) by evening . He asked if he could leave some of my old system at my house to be picked up later because he didn't have room in his truck to haul it away. I said that was fine. I had paid the bulk of the money owed when we signed the contract so I owed him about 2K when it was finished and the contract says "due upon completion". Well to me the job wasn't complete because of the missing hose and the old system sitting in my front lawn. He talked me into paying the last payment. I wrote the check, went outside and handed it to Dawson who was on his cell phone and one of his workers asked me if I wanted the equipment off the front lawn and put beside the garage behind an evergreen out of sight. Since I was going away for a week, I thought this was a great suggestion since I wouldn't be there to make sure it got picked up before it started killing my grass. Plus, Dawson to this point did not display a lot of trustworthyness. Now that Dawson had been paid in full, he immediately stops his cell phone conversation and starts yelling at me about not trusting him and that he's been trying to treat me like a f****** adult, etc. as he's walking to his truck. I simply said "good luck staying in business" and went into the house. At that point I called my bank and put a stop payment on the last check (More $) because the job was not complete and I could not trust this guy. I went on vacation and when I got back, I had a voicemail to call Michael Dawson. Also I noticed the house was not very cool! Oh and by the way, the old system is still sitting in my yard....what a surprise! So I call Michael Dawson to tell him I'm returning his call. Does he ask me how the new system is? Or tell me when he is going to come over to put the hose on the furnace? Or when he's coming over to haul the old system away? Or apologize for his unnecessary outburst? NO....he wants to know why I stopped payment on the second check! For the first time during all this I finally lost my patience and spelled out what he needed to do and when he needed to do it and he meekly agreed. The following day he came over and fixed the A/C problem, installed the hose on the furnace, loaded up the junk and I wrote another check. Now fast forward to this past July. We noticed the A/C could not keep the house cool and ran constantly. Despite having a 2 yr warranty, I was not about to have Michael Dawson work on our system. We paid almost $400 for a reputable company to correct the shoddy workmanship of Michael Dawson. I've also noticed that you can no longer find M&D Heating & Air listed so he has either gone out of business or is operationg under a new name. I did see a new company called Dawson Heating & Air so it wouldn't surprise me if that's him but I don't know for sure. Beware of Michael Dawson. He is all about the money and doesn't do a good job!
