+ -1 morei needed my front steps rebuilt so i called custom masonry for an estimate.I talked to them in detail about that the job was half done by another contractor who failed to return after i paid them $2500.00 and then went out of business.So custom masonry knew of my desperation and never even called me back to say yeh or nay after telling me to call them back and leave a message to set up an appointment.

+ -1 moreDominic looked over the area carefully but although there had been some repair work and there was a small hole in the masonry in the area in question, it was his opinion that it was not causing the leak. He didn't recommend any work be done and was clear that he would not be interested in the job should we decide to do it anyway.
Description of Work: Dominic came out to look at an area of brickwork that I thought might be causing a leak into the house, evaluate whether he thought there was a problem, and give an estimate. It took a number of attempts to schedule a good time for him to come out, but he was exactly on time when he came out for the estimate.

+ -1 moreJob may have taken a little larger than Dominic expected, but results are great, cost was a little lower than other quotes, and house was left relatively clean (for a very messy job).
Description of Work: Dominic repointed (grind and/or chisel) approx. 550 square feet of interior brick including acid wash on three floors of Federal Hill town home. We the homeowner had already removed plaster. House was able to be occupied while work underway.

Description of Work: DEMOLISH OLD CHIMNEY; CLEAN UP DEBRIS. MATCH HISTORICAL BRICKS AND REPOINT. REBUILD CHIMNEY FROM GROUND UP. PROTECTED CHIMNEY FROM RAIN DURING JOB; PROTECTED VERY VALUABLE PLANTINGS IN GARDEN BY SIDE OF CHIMNEY. DID VERY LITTLE DAMAGE TO HILLSIDE FRONT YARD OF HOME. RAKED ALL DEBRIS FROM DEMOLITION FROM WORK AREA; NO EVIDENCE THAT THE CHIMNEY HAD BEEN DEMOLISHED. WORKERS DID NOT INTRUDE ON HOMEOWNER'S PRIVACY; WHEN ASKED TO TURN OFF RADIO, DID SO WITH NO QUESTION. HOMEOWNER ALLOWED WORKERS TO USE DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM; WORKERS TOOK OFF SHOES, AND ALERTED HOMEOWNER TO THEIR ENTERING THE HOME, BEFORE DOING SO. CONTRACTOR INVITED HOMEOWNER TO SEE THE MASONRY WORK BEING PERFORMED, AS IT PROCEEDED. ANY QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED PROMPTLY. TO FINISH OF JOB, QUALITY AND SERVICE WERE A PLUS.
