Description of Work: Installed automatic generator. We did not get the size that powers the whole house which in retrospect was kind of a stupid decision since a larger generator would have been not that much more. We mostly wanted to keep our sump pump, furnace and fridge going so we went with a smaller unit. CDS did not put any pressure to buy a bigger unit -- this is the one instance where a more aggressive sales pitch might have resulted in a better decision! The generator runs its test every week but wouldn't you know, we used to experience regular power outages but haven't had a single one since we got the generator

Description of Work: Company installed generator. Generator stopped working during the first test, the big sudden windstorm derecho in July 2012. Company stopped answering the phones on noon Saturday after the storm and closed on 4th of July. While I can understand the need for the company to give its workers a welcome break, they could have given us a list of contractors who would work when they were unavailable. We finally had to call the manufacturer who gave us a list of authorized service contractors. Nevertheless we accumulated over $1500 in additional expenses to have another company come out and repair the generator which we were not reimbursed. Company personnel only answered the "new sales" line. They are fine until they get your money and then you are left in the dark if you need them for service. You may have to call another provider if you need after hours service during an emergency which is why you purchase emergency power. They sell good products but God forbid you need support. CDS left us in the dark and did not seem to care. I spoke to someone named Denise and begged for help. She reminded me that my contract stated that the generator was not to be used for people who have medical problems. I told her that I was very sensitive to extreme changes in heat and cold. I already have huge medical expenses and do not have the money to pay the $1500 in extra costs associated with this generator. I would simply like to be reimbursed for my out of pocket costs. I refuse to leave my name due to the fact that they are extremely vindictive and should I need service, I will probably never get it even if we have a service contract. I am posting this notice as an advance warning to consumers. They sell good products as a dealer but their service left us in the dark.

Description of Work: Contractor installed a 20KW whole house emergency generator at our residence. Work was performed over a 5 week period from date of contract. Time frame was normal due to the increase in requests in the Metro Washington area, and limited supply of Generac/ NG emergency generators. All permit work and inspections were handled through the contractor. All work was performed on an workman like manner. Get at least three bid for the work. It turned out that CDS was the least in overall price and performed better followup and client contact, than the other providers.

Description of Work: I have them come out to do quarterly maintenance on my generator. Everything went fine with this company. I have been using them for a few years now and haven’t had a problem with them yet. I will continue to use this company.
