I think they were very comprehensive in their explanation in what they were going to do. So we weren’t left wondering whether everything was going to get done. We knew upfront that they understand what we needed.

The job was done as promised and completed on time. The whole operation went smoothly and quickly. The plants were top quality. Not only did it solve our waterproofing problem, but it increased the curb appeal.

There were snags in the job, through no fault of theirs, and they fixed the problems to a point that exceeded my expectations. They were thorough, professional, and excellent to work with.

I would rate Carroll Landscaping as an A++. Kevin, who came out to give the original estimate and managed the project, always responded very quickly to any questions and patiently gave thorough answers. The crew was on time and friendly. The overall fee was comparable to other landscapers. However, comparing the scope of work in the various estimates, Carroll Landscaping's work was of better value and quality. I have received many compliments on the patio. It's a great improvement for my home.

My first meeting was fine. This is a contractor that a friend of mine has worked with extensively and she was very happy with his work. A $450 design fee was required in order for them to draw up the plans for my yard. The follow up visit in which measurements were taken was done in a prompt and timely manner, as was our initial meeting to go over the plans. After that meeting, I had some questions and changes about the plans. I communicated those to Beth in a couple of emails. They did not answer my questions or follow up with me in any way. I am very disappointed that this company has taken a design fee, then completely and totally dropped the ball in terms of following up on this work. Basically, I paid $450 for a design about which I had questions and which the contractor did not address. After waiting to hear from them from a couple of weeks, I contacted another contractor.

The project took about a week. They removed they old sidewalk and put in a large stone base of crusher rock and then put in the stone pavers. They finished by doing a composite step and new Anderson storm door. They regraded and reseeded the lawn and put down straw mating. They also mulched and graded our plantings and beds next to the house so that they were positively graded for water flow away from the house. The work crew was friendly and efficient. They informed us each day what was going to be done that day. They cleaned up each evening and left the area as neat as they could, while the construction was going on.

It went well, they tore out the old concrete, put in the pavers, new step, and reseeded.

When their representative came out to see the project, I gave him pictures of the house and the lot with computer-generated arrows pointing to where we wanted work done. On the back of our laminated sheet, we had written out details of exactly what we wanted done. When other people came out for estimates, they complimented us for being specific and clear about exactly what we wanted. The representative was rude when he came out to see our property. When I told him that I had neglected the landscaping for a couple of years prior to successful back surgery, he said that it looked as if i had neglected it for longer than that. I did not want to use this company due to the representative's rudeness. However my husband wanted them because they were the low bid and had good reviews on Angie's List. They sent us a contract. My husband accepted the contract and called to send in the deposit--this meant turning down several other bids. Despite a clear specific contract, the company then said that they had made a "mistake" and tripled the price--I guess they do not feel the need honor their written contract. Their initial price was about a thousand lower than three other contacts Their "revised" price was triple the other contracts. Waiting for them to respond to our contract agreement caused a significant delay in calling back the other companies.

The entire process was flawless, easy and efficient. Bob was personable, efficient and very professional. His crew was the same. I have no criticism at all. The price was in the same range compared to other proposals we received. I would definitely use them again.

I can't emphasize enough how pleased we are that we chose Carroll Landscaping and had the pleasure to work with Kevin and his crew. For four years, since the Hurricane of the summer of 2011, we have had sandbags in front of our garage which is the bottom of our driveway and which received water from all over our lawn. We have had several different types of contractors (plumbers, graders, waterproofers, etc.) come out to evaluate our problem and give us estimates. Kevin's approach made the most sense. We also liked his landscaping ideas far above other landscapers who gave us estimates. We have had several large storms since the work was completed and have had no drainage issues at all and no water coming into our garage. What a relief. Kevin is professional, easy to work with, extremely responsive, and eager to please the client. He explains things thoroughly and is patient with lay questions. We took Kevin's advice by not doing a few things we originally had hoped to do and are so glad that we listened to him. If we had insisted on our original ideas, we would not be as happy as we are now. The prices were competitive with other landscapers that received the same kind of high marks on Angie's List. We plan on using Carroll Landscaping again and have recommended the company to many people--most of whom have stopped by our house to tell us how beautiful the yard looks!

Everything went very smoothly.? The workers came on time and cleaned up when they left.? We were very pleased with the result and hired them for another project--the front walkway.?

I used three times since 2012. They're pleasant, on time, and courteous. Kevin is very professional, keeps you posted, and tells it like it is. They guarantee their work and he replaced some of the landscaping free of charge. The yard looked fantastic and I’ve even received compliments from the neighbors. They did an outstanding job and I will continue to use them since they the best in town.

Kevin, the proprietor is quite knowledgeable, came and gave us a very long and thorough estimate, and spent a lot of time trying to understand what we wanted in our landscape. My only complaint is that his planting recommendations were sometimes a little less than complete - the beautiful plants he put in our back yard turned out to be quite invasive. But we also didn't ask the question. He made spearate trips out to help us maintain the new plantings, sent e-mails for watering reminders and showed up on time and with the appropriate crew every time he said he would. I have no qualms about recommending them.

Happy with the work. The people doing the job were approachable, considerate, and took the time to make sure I was happy with the work. Would certainly use again.

Price was beyond what we were looking to pay.

A pretty painless process. We did have some difficulty getting the project started as Baltimore enjoys closing streets to dig and pave repeatedly, preventing trucks and cars from gaining access to homes, but they were flexible and worked around my and the city's schedule. They got everything done quickly and correctly, and exactly as promised! I love looking out into my backyard, sitting there for my morning coffee, grilling, entertaining...definitely worth the expense. Thanks guy!!

Bob Jones and his crew provided excellent service in all areas. We hired Grandfathers nursery a few years ago to clear the land and plant a living fence across our back yard. Needless to say we were not happy with them since we had to replace the entire thing. We won't go into that other than to say we were extremely cautious in hiring another company to do the replacement work as well as other jobs. Bob came out and listened to all our concerns and gave us excellent ideas for improvement on what we thought we wanted. He explained the need for re routing the drainage and proper preparation of the planting beds. He proposed solutions. This is why we hired a professional. We could have replanted ourselves but we needed to get to the root problem of why previous plantings did not survive aside from the land not being prepped properly. Bob delivered all that he promised and we feel the price was right. Our rock walled flower box in front of the front porch was done with precision and the plantings are perfect. Our front lawn is regraded and the lawn is already coming in. Our living fence is planted in beautifully cleared and prepped beds. And lastly the drainage solution that Bob recommended in order to provide optimal conditions for the plantings seems to be working fine following the last rain storm. Bob and crew did a landscape design for several upcoming projects. Included regrading, gazebo, patio/deck and other items. Very pleased with the design. Will hire in future when ready to do work. Bob is a very straight shooter. Honesty is something I value.

Carroll Landscaping did a great job. Kevin is an expert at solving drainage issues, and put in underground pipes and flow wells to allow the water to be absorbed into the ground. Carroll designed a lovely free form patio with a sitting wall to replace an old deck. Our old wooden fence was replaced with a new vinyl fence that has a 25 year warranty. The crew arrived on time when they were supposed to be here and worked steadily to get the job done. We are very happy with our new back yard.

Crew was profession and polite. There were some minor quality issues but Carroll promptly addressed them went out of their way to ensure that we were happy with the work. They are not the cheapest company but they stand behind their work and will come back to a make things right if there are any issues.

We dealt with Kevin and crew and it all went very well. We received three estimates and Carroll was the best price for what we wanted. They were professional, and gave us exactly what we asked for. No complaints about the work they did, it all looked very well done. They removed and replanted 12 other plants for us, which I was not expecting, and it was much appreciated. It was a simple transaction. We knew what we wanted, they delivered it exactly, and for a little less than a couple of other Angie's list companies.
