Pete came out last November and prepared an estimate. It was very detailed. After we accepted the contract Steve came out to measure and discuss details. Due to our schedule we postponed the work until March 2014. Steve came on time and did all the work himself. He sealed off the work area, but at the end of each day we had full use of the kitchen. A few of the cabinets were not in good enough condition to reface so Steve made new ones in his shop within a couple days. Everyone commented on how well he made them. While the job took longer than planned because of snow and sickness it was worth the minor inconvenience. For us the hardest part was emptying the cabinets. The final price was the same as the estimate. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

This is my first experience with Angie's list. I joined to find a company that would restore my kitchen cabinets. After initial contact with this company, they were unresponsive. I tried on several occasions to e-mail the information that was requested for a consultation, but the e-mails were sent back to me because the company's mailbox was full. I then tried to reach the company by phone. No one answered. I left a voice mail message stating that my e-mails were kicked back to me because the company's mailbox was full, if they could please call me to schedule an appointment. My call was never returned. i was looking forward to working with them. Maybe the company does excellent work, if you can get them to contact you.....

My cabinets look beautiful--like custom made cabinets. The new doors and fronts are of high quality. Pete helped select the color wood, and it compliments the furniture in the master bedroom. All the workmen were punctual and polite. My bathroom was spotlessly clean when the work was done. I am very pleased with the entire process. I am happy to recommend the company and this service.

I called the company in June shortly after buying the Angie's List deal for $1499 for $3000 worth of service. They came out pretty quickly and gave me an estimate of an additional $1200. I did not expect it to be that much more. It was explained that they would come out and remove the doors to all the cabinets and take them back to resurface. It would take 2 weeks. They would then come back and resurface the remaining wood surfaces and put the doors back on. I had to remove everything in all the cabinets and on the countertops. Since the side of a few cabinets was not real wood, they could not be done, and that limited me to the same color (light oak) that already existed. When the work was done the cabinets were beautiful. My only issue with the company was the estimated start date that kept on changing. Although the deal was made in June, the cabinets were not completed until September. Hopefully this was because they are diligent and not that they took on more work than they could handle.

We met with Pete for an estimate on refinishing our kitchen cabinets. He was very informative and friendly. He got a quote back to us very quickly. Although his price was fair for the scope of the work, we've decided to push he project timeline back in order to increase the budget. We hope to work with Pete in the future.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Pete came out within a day of my initial phone call to discuss my options with me. At first, I was not certain if I wanted to refinish my existing cabinets or reface. After talking with Pete and getting the estimate, I decided to reface to get a newer look. The estimate came in much less than I thought it would which included a few upgrade options (ie. the new cabinet, paneled sides, bead board around island). Scheduling the field visit was very smooth. My installer, Emory, was even willing to come out on a Sunday since that was the only time that was going to work for me. Emory was also very helpful and made some additional suggestions to me that I would not have thought about (ex. reversal of door openings to create more symmetry around my oven). Pete stayed in touch with me as we waited for materials to come in and install started as scheduled. Shawn did most of the installation and he too was wonderful. He left me with a clean kitchen everyday so that I could actually cook at night. Dust was kept to a minimum with plastic hung during the day and removed each night. Shaun was meticulous in his workmanship. I am thrilled with what seems like a brand new kitchen.

We decided to reface our kitchen because all of our kitchen appliances are relatively high-end and relatively new but a botched refurb by the previous homeowner made the cabinets look terrible. We also love the granite that is currently in the kitchen and did not want to replace it; something we would have to do if we bought new cabinets. I don't know how many people work for The Cabinet Restoration Company but we only had interaction with two. Pete was our salesman and point of contact for questions and Steve was our installer. Both could not have been more professional. We are extremely pleased with the quality of both the work and the materials. Our install lasted more than twice as long as the company estimated but that was mainly due to the poor quality of the initial installation of the cabinets years ago. Steve worked h****** our kitchen and the results are fantastic. My wife particularly wants to applaud Steve's efforts in keeping dust out of the rest of the house and leaving the kitchen spotless at the end of the job. I would use this company again and have already recommended them to others.

It went very well. I did this work in conjunction with a Big-Deal offer. I found them to excel in all areas. From our 1st conversation over the phone it was a pleasure to work with them. I would certainly recommend them and use again myself. My only less than lovely comment is that I thought I would receive a complete receipt of work done sent to me via e-mail and I never did. I may have misunderstood because all else they did was spot on, Most importantly, the cabinets look great, and brand new. It was a good decision to have them done, I am very pleased. mas,9/20/13

Received an estimate in the spring and looked into refinishing vs. refacing. Pete was very patient and helpful with answering questions, providing references, and making suggestions. He was honest in what he thought would be the best outcome--a cream colored painted finish. We finally scheduled the job and it went faster and smoother than anticipated. He took all the cabinet doors and drawer faces off to paint in their shop, then returned in 2 weeks to paint the rest of the cabinets. He isolated the whole kitchen area with plastic so there was no mess in the rest of the house, but there was a significant smell one evening (it happended ot be in the 90s outside). It only took 3 days of onsite work to finish the job and it looks great!

I contacted Pete after seeing his big deal. We spoke about our kitchen project at great length and Pete explained the cost differences for refacing and refinishing. He was patient and knowledgeable and at no time tried to sell me a more expensive option. In fact, he let me know that it would be less expensive to go with a solid color or a dark espresso color. We decided to go ahead with the project and have no regrets! Throughout the process, Pete was extremely well organized and punctual. I requested a specific date to begin the project and he was very accommodating. He picked up the door fronts when indicated and had them ready in the timeframe indicated. When refinishing the cabinets in our home, he sealed off the kitchen area and had vacuums running to contain the dust. I was amazed that the adjoining areas of the house didn't get dusty at all! As for the quality of the work- we couldn't be happier! The cabinets went from a light orangey maple to a beautiful light cherry color with a glaze. It's hard to believe that they are the same cabinets- they are gorgeous! We have already had 3 people indicate that they would like to use Pete's services when they are ready to do their own kitchens. I have zero reservations recommending this company. We did not shop around for prices, so I'm not sure how his rates compare to other people. In the end, the quality of the work was so exceptional that we are glad we didn't try to save costs by going with a cheaper company.

This project went exceptionally well from the estimate to final installation. Pete, the owner was very accessible and would keep us informed of all details. If we had any concerns he would always get back with us as soon as possible via telephone or email. Steve who was our installer did an amazing job. Before the actual work was started he came in and covered all counter tops and kitchen floor. Also the doorways in the kitchen were covered with a plastic drop cloth to keep dust confined to kitchen area. Steve is a perfectionist and is very detailed in his work. The end result was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend Furniture Restoration Company LLC.

We were very pleased with the company and the work they performed. Pete was very professional and pleasant to work with. When he came to give us an estimate, he thoroughly reviewed the work to be done, clearly explained the process, and provided a fair estimate. The work area was thoroughly covered to protect our countertops, walls, floor, and appliances. The work was completed in 2 days and the finished product is beautiful! We are very pleased with our new cabinets and saved a lot of time, money, and inconvenience by having them refinished rather than replaced.

Pete & Steve were outstanding professionals. The work was planned and executed with extreme care and on time. Steve worked in a very neat set up, and the kitchen looked spotless after the work was finished. He did a superb job. I highly recommend these guys.

We recently used Furniture Restoration to reface our 50 year old wood cabinets (original birch cabinets). In 2002, we had replaced the appliances and the existing laminate counter tops with Silestone. At the time, we did not wish to replace the cabinets as they were still in great shape. Earlier this year, the cabinets were starting to look worn but remained structurally sound, so we decided to explore upgrading options: Refinishing or Re-facing (rather than a full replacement which would more than likely have damaged the counter tops). As we began to explore these two options, we rapidly determined that refinishing would not be an option as it would involve considerable exposure to toxic chemicals and uncertainty regarding appearance of the end product. We decided to pursue re-facing which involved gluing a veneer to the existing cabinets, finishing off all the corners/joining surfaces, replacing the molding on top of the cabinets, and installing brand new doors and drawer fronts. Upon completion, it would look as if new cabinets were installed. We received a quote from Furniture Restoration and another local larger company. Furniture Restoration?s quote came in at just under $8000 while the other company?s was twice as much for the exact same product and process. Of note Furniture Restoration, also offered many color options and features for us to consider. After reviewing all our options and checking references, we proceeded with Furniture Restoration. My wife and I are completely thrilled with how the finished product looked! We are not easy to please and have been disappointed in the quality of work from other contractors for other projects. The project was completed with extreme attention to details, no quick fix sloppy cover-ups. The newly re-faced cabinets are indistinguishable from totally replaced ones. Steve, the installer, completed the project by himself in 6 days. What impressed us most was Steve?s dedication to quality, his punctuality and his work ethic. He actually came in on a Sunday and frequently worked 12 hour days. He would call us every morning to let us know he was on the way and if he was ever going to be late for his estimated arrival, he would call and let us know he is running a little late. What a breath of fresh air! No whining, no excuses, no drama. You?d be lucky if other contractors gave you that same level of courtesy. As a result we highly recommend using Furniture Restoration to reface your cabinets. You will NOT be disappointed.

We can not say enough about the entire process from inception to completion. Initially Pete came out and explained our options and discussed the entire process in detail. He explained how certain cabinet finishes would work better with our granite and offered some very good choices. Once we made our selections we set up a time to have Steve do the installation. In addition to refacing the cabinets, Steve noticed that our microwave had been improperly installed. He re-installed it and properly secured it to the wall and cabinet. He also built a cabinet above the refrigerator to give the entire kitchen a quality finished look. We found out that Steve was much more than strictly a cabinet installer, he could also do quality custom renovations. Our next project will include getting our two bathrooms renovated and we will certainly be giving Pete and Steve a call. If you want quality professional results with outstanding customer service at a great price, I would highly recommend the Furniture Restoration Company.

The project took longer than I was originally told it would. Considering the amount of work involved, this is understandable. However, the finished project is gorgeous and we appreciated all the effort put in by Steve, who completed the entire project himself. We didn't witness the raising of the cabinet, but I am in awe that he accomplished that by himself! He is a dedicated worker and the results are very professional. We are extremely pleased with our beautiful new kitchen and will recommend the company to others who have inquired about who did our work. I have mailed before and after pictures to all my friends, who are suitably impressed with the results!

I cannot say enough good things about this company! We had 6-8 estimates for our kitchen renovation, and were trying to decide between refinishing or refacing our cabinets. It was such a relief to have Pete come to the house to give his honest opinion. We knew we could trust him because his company did both services, so he did not have a "dog in the fight", so to speak. Pete was patient and thorough in his explanations and worked up fair estimates for both services. After we decided to go with refacing, he came back to the house and patiently helped us decide on wood species, stain and finish. This company's estimate was very competitive, fair and had a lifetime guarantee on the work completed. We ultimately chose this company over one with a lower estimate based solely on Pete's demeanor, excellent communication, patience, and professionalism. After we signed the contract, Steve came out to do all the measurements. I could tell he was careful and meticulous. Another plus about this company -- we were assured that once the final measurements were taken and contract signed, anything that came up later would not be charged to us. This actually ended up happening to us, as it often does, and several issues occurred and were addressed with not one penny of additional cost to us. Pete and Steve were true to their word, something you don't often find these days. They were very accomadating and coordinated with us to do the work while we were gone on vacation for a week. Steve utilized our alarm as we requested, covered all work areas (including blocking off the kitchen will plastic zip walls) and even fed our goldfish for us :) The work itself went a few days over schedule, due to the unforseen issues that they resolved without charge, so we had the opportunity to see Steve work his magic. He was as meticulous and highly skilled as we initially thought. He cleaned up after the job was done, and is even coming back to install tip out sink trays that we didn't realize we needed at the time. I have told as many people as I can about this company and I will continue to do so. We are looking forward to working with them in the future to replace our stair railings, and replace or refinish our fireplace surround. We may even reface the bathroom cabinets. I won't even bother getting other estimates for these jobs (something I religiously do usually) because I have complete confidence that Pete will give us the most fair price and best service of anyone out there. I have never had a remodel project go as smoothly as this one. Nor have I ever been as completely satisfied with the end result as I am now. That is all a credit to Pete and Steve and their communication, honesty and professionalism. So happy we found them, and can't wait to do more projects! Give them a call - I guarantee you won't be sorry!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. I first met Pete who came out to our home to go over all of our options for our kitchen cabinet refacing. Pete was so friendly and not pushy at all. He was very honest about the price and gave a very good assessment of everything. The company was wonderful in working with our schedule in order to find a convenient time to work on our kitchen. Steve was the one who actually did the install and refacing of the cabinets/vanities and installed the chair rail in one bedroom. He was wonderful! He put up a zip wall in the kitchen to prevent getting dust and dirt anywhere else in our home. His work was beautiful and he was so pleasant to deal with. He even stayed late on the last night in order to complete our project as timely as possible. Between the friendliness and honesty of Pete in the cabinet selection process, the workmanship of Steve, the beautiful cabinet quality, and the very competitive pricing I would highly highly recommend this company to anyone considering redoing their kitchen.

Pete came to show us samples and clearly explained what would happen He offered a very fair price Along the way, he answered al our question promptly and came up with sasy to soove problems and responmd to new requests. Steve, the cabinet instlaler, arrived when he said he would. Very neat worker and paid attention to detail. Am 100% happy with the results.

The kitchen looks absolutely beautiful!! Pete (the owner) and Steve (the craftsman) did masterful work in all aspects of the job. They were both a pleasure to work with, extremely knowledgeable, and provided excellent service and craftsmanship at every stage. We were originally a little leery about refacing cabinets as opposed to replacing them, but Pete and Steve assured us that refaced cabinets will look like new. Now that the job is complete, we are thrilled with the way it looks and have no regrets about any of the selections we made. Highly recommend refacing to anyone and this company is the way to go.

They are a great company but the estimate that came back was more than I expected. He said that it was perfectly fine and let me know how to get a refund. He was highly professional and I would recommend him. He was very prompt and sent me a detailed description of his refinishing process after my purchase.

I would highly recommend them. The experience with them was very, very favorable. The pricing was was very good, their dedication to their job was very good and they were committed to doing the job right. They also worked long hours when it was necessarily to do it correctly. It's a small company and the one thing I liked is that we had that one contractor and he was dedicated to our project. So there was never an issue of trying to get his time; he worked full time on our project for four or five weeks. We intend to use them again.

It was phenomenal. They got the job done in less time then they said they would. They were very neat and clean. The clean up was perfect. I really liked that the owner, Peter, was here on the job. I would highly recommend them.
