C2 Crane & Tree Service

Called in August to schedule the appt. for 8/30/12 between 12:00-2:00 pm. The crew of 3 arrived @4:00 pm and completed the work in @2 hrs. It was a very hot and humid day. The work was done efficiently and all the wood was mulched in their truck and the area completely cleaned up. I would definitely use their services again in the future.

They were very prompt and courteous. Professional in every way. but, I could not afford their prices.

We received a prompt estimate of work that would be done under special price offer. However, the job seems to have been forgotten, as only a call from the Angie's list got the tree pruners out a month after the work was supposed to be done. This may have been a fluke, but with other tree services available, why take a chance?

The office called this morning asking if they could come at 12 noon. I told them yes. When 2:00 P.M. came, I called them back to cancel. Chris Rankin, the Owner called me back and explained that he had told the office help to explain I was being squeezed in the schedule at 12 noon to keep me from having to wait 2 weeks. They came in about 10 minutes. They completed the job well of elevating and trimming my ornamental cherry tree and ornamental plum tree. They also pruned back my two holly shrubs. They cleaned up the debris as well. Overall, they did a good job.

Overall service was excellent. Would definitelt recommend them to others and use them again for additional projects.

They were four hours late with no phonecall. I needed to leave and my husband was here and was not aware of the quote. They did not remove the vines and when my husband paid - they did not subtract the $200 off the Angie's list coupon. We have made at least a dozen calls and sent pictures of the vine. We requested to be reimbursed $200 for the coupon and to come back and remove the vines. At first we would get calls back and were under the impression they were willing to remedy the situation. Now we are getting no response to our calls. I am very frustrated especially every time I call their message says every client will be satisfied - I'm not. I will not use again nor recommend.

They did provided the service, but I was not thrilled. They said they could cut off some stuff, but I thought there would be more work done. I wanted the branches to be cut back far enough to prevent squirrels from jumping on my roof. We should have gone into more detail about work would be done for the cost. They did take away what they cut down.

We had some scheduling issues when the vendor being backed up. We scheduled a with the formen date and called to reschedule, but did not show up. They still have not called back to tell me why they did not show. I tried to call and they do not have a voice mail box set up to leave message.

First, the estimate person arrived 2 1/2 hrs late without calling to notify of delay. My $200 prepayment coupon for the $400 value essentially got me most of one tree paid for. The job ended up costing $950 total minus the $400 credit. The day of the trimming the workers were scheduled to arrive between 8-9 am. At 9:30 I had to call the company to verify they were coming. NO one called me about a delay or updated me on new arrival time. The crew finally arrived at 10:30 am. However, they were here working for 4 hours and it was 95 degrees. Work had been estimated to be completed using a climber with saw or bucket truck; however the bucket did not come. They did a good job cleaning up the mess.

Chris and his crew of two workers were very professional and did an excellent job. They left the site clean and debris free. I am considering using them again to remove a pile of tree limb debris from my back yard, as well as doing some other tree work.

The crew showed up with several pieces of equipment and several workers. Because houses in my neighborhood are so close together, the large tree needed to be chopped into smaller pieces which were lifted over my house. This involved both a bucket truck and a large crane. They were careful to put down boards to cushion the effect of the bucket truck on both my yard and my neighbors'.The whole process involved lots of careful coordination and planning. It was a fascinating process to watch. During all the chopping and sawing and moving, a lot of debris was produced, not only in my yard but both neighbors, and the street. The crew was very good about keeping up with this during the day, and then finishing clean-up at the end of their long day. It is such a relief not to have that very large tree hanging over my house and my neighbors. I believe I got a very good price for all the labor and equipment involved, and would not hesitate to hire these people again. I would also recommend them to anyone.

From the very first contact with C2, I felt very comfortable hiring the company. The company was very accommodating. While there were two delays because of rain, they willing worked around my schedule. I very definitely would hire C2's services again.

I was not happy with their work; it was very sloppy.First to meet them to do the estimate consisted of me calling the office every hour on the hour one afternoon because they said that the estimator would be available mid afternoon. I advised them that I had to leave work to meet him and needed 30 minutes notice. The ladies that i dealt with in the office were very professional and personable. When i finally got a timeframe confirmed i had 15 minutes to meet him. Thank goodness he called me from his cell as i was able to ask him to wait another 15 minutes until i would get there. The estimator was nice and courteous. He told me the job is really more than this but I'll quote you a $1000.00 for the job if you can pay cash the day of the job completion. He went on to say to give them the coupon of $400.00 and pay them the cash balance of $600.00. I agreed. I also would need to move any parked cars and several small tractor mowers. I contacted them after i returned from vacation to schedule the work. I had difficult time trying to schedule a time. The first contact I had with them was them calling me on a Monday morning at 7AM they could come by that day and do the job. I told them, no, i had several vehicles to move and had to get to work. The second time scheduling the job (after several phone messages) i was scheduled. I was asked to leave the cash in an envelope on the door. I told them i did not feel comfortable with that. I would drop it off at their office the next day. When i arrived home that evening i was very disappointed. Several flower beds had some damages, ruts in one section of my yard and a broken trellis and several uprooted plants lying in my yard and fairly sizable limbs hanging in the trimmed trees. Every time it rains or we have a strong wind several of them will fall down and i still continue to have clean up from their work I had no note, apology for the damages. I contacted them the next day to complain, a message was taken and that i would hear back from someone. That evening i got home late around 8/9:00 pm and was told they had stopped by. I never received a phone call or anything, otherwise i would have been there to meet them. The following day i had contact with the owner of the company and told him of the damages and wanted a credit for the service. He gave me a $75.00 discount. I told him i would pay him the cash on Saturday. When I arrived at their office i had $525.00 in cash ($1000.00 - $400.00 coupon - $75.00 credit = $525.00) He said that i owed him $925.00 in cash. I was told that the estimate was just that and that the work was much more than that. I wish i had been told that at the time of the estimation. I ended up paying an additional $200.00 (total $725.00). I mailed them the additional $200.00 in check. I have had tree trimmers trim some of the same trees that this company did and they did and the work was far better than C2's. I was very disappointed and felt their work was very sloppy.

Originally received tree service estimate on a 70 foot tree I wanted to save. Fair estimate less my Angie's List Big Deal savings. Pruning and ivy removal. The 6/29/12 mid-Atlantic storm knocked my power out and I had to delay the appointment. It turned out better because C@ came back out and gave me an estimate for debris removal. I was able to have both jobs completed the same day. They cleaned the work site thoroughly. I am thankful for their flexibility and professionalism from the ladies at the office to all of the experts that came to my home. I will definitely recommend them.

I called them last monday to see if they could come out on Thursday. They told me that they could not make that date but would call me the next week to set up a date to come and do the work. They never called me back. I tried to contact them again and they were not responsive to my calls.

They came out and looked at the tree that had fallen down during the storm. They were lovely, prompt, and did very fine work for us. They grounded the stump and removed the fallen tree. They also removed a partially dead tree. We are going to have them back to do some tree trimming.

When I arrived home after the job was complete the yard was a mess. It took my husband and I several hours to put things back in place and clean up tree debris. One of my trees had two branches that were affected by tent caterpillars. I would have thought those branches would have been cut out and removed since that was one of the specified trees to be worked on. They were not.

Because of the July storms, I had to wait a few weeks to set up an appt. I need a water main replaced, because of a leak, and they were very accommodating to get the tree removal work done ASAP. The crew arrived late because these things happen due to other jobs taking longer than expected, but once they started, they did a thorough, excellent and professional job. A pleasure dealing with everyone from the office (Kim) to the crew.

Do use this company. The staff is very friendly. The estimate was fair. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they would do it. They did a very nice job pruning the fig tree. I would recommend this company to family and friends. Marie

Everything went very well. I think they did a very good job. Their prices were very competitive and they also did not charge for stump grinding. They were also able to get the jobs done in a very timely manner.

I felt the price was reasonable for what I was going to get. My frustration was with their inability to follow appointments. They had 4 seperate appointments with me that they either cancelled or were a no show for.

They came out the first time to do the estimate, and he even asked about doing work on another tree. I told him that I wanted to focus on the one tree because I didn?t want to go over the $199. After calling to reschedule the work so many times, he called today and just said, we can come out today and wanted to make sure someone would be home. He also told me to have the balance of payment today. When I inquired about the balance, he said I would owe an addition $150 for the work because the job was a $500+ job. He never said that at the estimate. This was a horrible experience and I would never use them again.

They did a great job and, most importantly, cleaned up very well. I even asked if they could cut a scrap for a chopping block and they were happy to do it. They even moved it to my chopping area because it would have been too heavy for me to move myself. They clean up virtually every wood chip and even some deadfall on the other side of my property. The price was right on and they worked safely and efficiently. They have done work for me in the past and I will have them out tpo do more in the future. Great work!
