C2 Crane & Tree Service

Assured me before the sale and at delivery that they would deliver a full cord of wood 128 cubic feet. However after careful stackng and measuring I received significantly less than a full cord. The driver said at dumping the wood when I asked if it was full cord that "we wouldn't drive this far with less than a full cord - there is more than a full cord." I called two times to follow-up and could only leave messages as they wouldn't answer the phone. I sent a letter on October 4 with photographs and details about the measurements. No response. UPDATE: LATE NOVEMBER - I contacted the MD State Bureau of Weights and Measures and they were very responsive coming to my house to measure the wood received and taking a statement from me. They contacted the vendor the same day and C2 Crane and Tree Service did contact me the same afternoon with apologies for the misunderstanding. They then delivered additional wood, more than the shortage. So they made it right and I appreciate that. I have updated the scores above to reflect that they rectified the situation.

I phoned for appointment, was told best she could say at that time was a week or so later (10/20), between 12 & 2p because she wasn't sure of his schedule. Oct 20th rolls around & at 1:50p he had not arrived & not phoned, so I phoned office to check that we were still scheduled. She said he'd be here by 2P. He did arrive about 2:10p. I feel she should have phoned to confirm appointment and advise that he was running at the late end of the appointment window. So, Chris Somebody (said he was the owner) arrived. I asked for business card, he said d he'd provide with proposal(?!). I asked if he was certified arborist because I did not want "Joe Schmoe with a chain saw"; he said he was an arborist. We walked to the property line where I pointed out & explained the colored markers I'd used (yellow indicating trees that needed expert's attention, red for kill or remove, white for keep). He asked several times who ha performed the previous work (there was downed wood on the ground, performed by another "arborist" who I am currently trying to replace); I declined to name the previous company, only explaining that I was not happy with their work (they climbed the tree they trimmed with "spikes" instead of using ropes) and that I was looking for another arborist. As I was trying to point out the trees of concern, marked with yellow tape, Chris re-asked about the color coding, said I had marked "Rose of Sharon" out there (there is no Rose of Sharon in this yard, only rose mallow, and none in that area. I think he was talking about the red taped invasive Japanese honeysuckle.); Chris stated he is the company owner, felt uncomfortable working with me, had 3 more estimates to do, that I should call [2 other Angie's List arborists, 1 of which I had already met with] because the trees (which ones?) need [treatment of some sort] that he doesn't do. The entire visit was very brief (under 10 minutes) and very weird. I feel he wasn't considerate of my time, was not at all attentive to my concerns or what I wanted for my trees; generally very unprofessional. He couldn't seem to grasp that the arborist tree work isn't all that's going on in the yard right now, nor that I was not willing to name the former arborist. Very unprofessional, very unpleasant.

Great, I asked that they cut it down so it would fall in the woods. They did that plus. They were kind enough to cut up the tree enough to leave a path for our dog. They inquired about cutting around the obvious run path. I was reluctant to pay for it. They did it for the dog.

They did a good job. I wasn't here when they did it. He said he would send them out at any time when they were in my area so when I looked up the work was done. It looked fine to me. The owner was professional.

My experience was good. The work itself was very good but they were extremely busy. It took awhile for them to get out here to do the work. I liked the guy that was running crew and thought they did a beautiful job on my trees.

They were no show twice. First time was last Friday the 8th at 7:30am and then again after promising they would come out Mon-Wed 7pm to give estimate to start work.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. There were no additional charges.

The coupon won’t even begin to cover what I needed, so told me I should request a refund. He was very nice and incredibly informative. He did give me a bid for the trees, so when I’m ready to have the service done, I can check with them again.

Advised me to call BGE and have them come trim the tree for free.

My holly tree was about 55 years old and taller than my house. About every two years, I would need to have the branches trimmed away from the house, as the tree would scrape against the roof, soffits, and side of the house. I originally planned to have it trimmed again, but had been trying to make a decision about cutting it down, because it was way too big for the space. I asked Mike, the estimator for C2 Crane and Tree what he would do if it were his. He said it was time to remove it. He showed me where insects had invaded the places left by previous limb removal, and the tree was too big and too misshapen. I agreed, and decided to remove the tree. The company came when they said they would, and started to work quickly and efficiently. It was a very narrow space in which to work, and they could not come in with a crane, so one of the guys had to climb the tree and cut and lower the branches by hand, a huge amount of work because the limbs were so big and heavy. The guys did what they could to avoid hurting my plants while dragging the limbs out to the curb to the chipper. Then they ground the stump, and generally cleaned up well. One of the guys, Sam, spent additional time with me after the job to discuss my questions about my other trees, and the possibility of planting a new tree near to where the old tree had stood. He had some very good suggestions, and I am sure I will hire them when it becomes time to plant the new tree. I could not be happier with the job, the price, and the responsiveness of this company.

Company responded to my request for an estimate very quickly. They returned in less than two weeks to perform the job as promised. Workers were professional and diligent and cleaned up loose debris. They made sure i was satisfied with their work before they left. Very happy with the results.

No problems with the company themselves as they were professional and responsive but we ended up going with someone else to perform the service.

All around impressive work and clean-up. Good respect for neighbor's property as well.

It went well. They showed up when the weather allowed, worked with neighbors to do multiple customers at once. They were polite, explanative, and cleaned up well. Sad to see the tree go but having them handle it nicely made it easier.

The company was very responsive, evaluated the damage and proactive steps that needed to be taken to prevent further issues were recommended. There was no pressure, great price and great work. I would definitely use this company again.

I did not want the trees themselves to be damaged, just low hanging branches removed. They did a good job of understanding this and relaying the instructions to the team that came out. I'm not sure of the date they came out, but I plan to use this company again soon.

They trimed a few trees and took out a dead tree. It was a fine experience. It did take them a little while to get back to me.

It took the company 20 days to get out to make an estimate, in part because we had a couple of storms, but also because they said they put higher paying work ahead of the coupon work. Their estimate, even with the coupon, was about 50% higher than the estimate from another company, so I've hired the other company instead.

They did a good job. The crew was professional and I was pleased with the service.

They were very good about asking me if the job was complete. They came back to me twice to make sure that I was satisfied and I think that was a very good thing. They might want to try and clean up the scraps a little bit more. They did a pretty good job cleaning up after themselves but they did leave some behind and maybe they need to be just a little more conscientious about that.

I have wanted this done since I moved here in 1986, but did not want the trees damaged by the spikes of the tree climber. When I saw this Angie's Big Deal from a company that had a Crane and at a reduced price, I could not resist. C2 Crane & Tree Service did not disappoint me. I was thrilled with their work and look forward to realizing the change in my yard that the elevation of the big shade trees will bring in the Spring. I have 2.5 Acres of oak forest and definitely plan to use C2 Crane & Tree Service for future tree service.

My only issue with the company was that it took them longer than I thought it should have to contact me initially. Other than that everything went really well. Chris was very cooperative coordinating the needs of me and my neighbor, some of whose trees were threatening my power lines. Tree work went quickly and cleanup was thorough.

Foreman Pat and his crew worked very hard in the hot weather, professionally and above all SAFELY while removing my dying pin oak. This was a difficult job and the men used the proper equipment and judgement to ensure my job was done safely and correctly. I say this since i have seen the competition out there take safety risks with lack of good judgement and proper equipment. C2's proposal was the only one to use heavy duty mats to prevent damage to the front lawn. Finally, the topsoil fill and seeding after the stump was ground was complete with nothing left behind.

They did excellent work and I will be using them again.
