+ -1 moreI called Burgemeister-Bell Inc. to change the cartridge in a Moen faucet. I was quite surprised when another company pulled up, the young man was very couteous and replaced the cartridge which I am not sure was for my faucet, perhaps using a generic cartridge. The hot water side does not put out a good stream of water. I am not at all happy with the cost either, plus he talked me into a contract that I should have declined. This was my fault. Believe me I have learned my lesson.
Description of Work: Replace the cartridge in my Moen kitchen faucet.

Description of Work: I live in an old row house in the city, still with the original waste main, which was backing up due to invasion of tree roots. The original plumber I contacted felt the job was too big for them, and had this company call me due to purported expertise in excavation. Mr. Bell, the owner of the company, was very pleasant and came out promptly, but his proposed solution ended up being outrageously off the mark. He told me, if I was lucky, he could re-line my old pipe (for about $6000, but it would cost $500 to video the line to find out). If the old line wasn't in good enough shape, it would be a major excavation, taking 2-3 days and costing $18,000. And, oh, I would have to find someone to remove my back porch and fence. Fortunately, I found a plumber who was familiar with the neighborhood and was able to take care of the situation in one day, for $6000 total, leaving my porch intact.

+ -1 moreCame out and provided an estimate the same day I called. Explained work clearly. The estimate was better than the other I got, so I sent a deposit. Heard nothing back until I called after about 10 days, then they scheduled the work for a couple of days later. Office was very friendly and helpful. The workmen were prompt, quick and professional. They laid plastic on the floors from the door the basement and cleaned up afterwords. Completed at the original price.
Description of Work: Replaced the water supply line from the street to the house.
