My wife and I hired Jim for a few small to medium sized projects and they all turned out great. He was a pleasure to work with even when there were inevitable things that came up as part of any project. He always informed me of any questions he had or decision points he came across and made sure we were as happy as possible with the outcome. He was more than willing to work with us if something changed a little and we needed something else done in the area he was working (within reason, of course). I was also very pleased with his range of tasks that he is good at and especially that he does excellent tile work. It can be hard to find someone to do smaller tile projects. We'll definitely be hiring him again when something comes up.

Jim was very professional. He methodically identified the problem and efficiently fixed it. His performed quality work! Very fair pricing. I would definitely use Jim for any future projects.

Jim removed wallpaper from basement bathroom, painted the walls, replaced toilet and vanity, installed backsplash, shelves and floating vinyl floors; removed wallpaper from bedroom walls then sanded, sealed, primed and painted walls and replaced closet doors. He also replaced 6 interior doors and installed trim. Jim is methodical, meticulous, and personable. He gave us a clear, detailed and concise proposal. We are very pleased with his work.

Jim did a great job! He was prompt, professional, responsive and reliable. We contacted Jim for a quote to install a French door in an existing opening to our home office. The office has two doorways but only one of the openings had a door installed. So, we needed Jim to install a second set of doors to match the existing doors. I sent him some pictures via text to get his initial reaction. He replied that it appeared to be something he could do and wanted to stop by for a closer look. After his onsite review, he provided a detailed quote that included the door, trim, matching paint, etc. as well as the labor cost. So, we scheduled the installation. He had the door delivered and performed the installation as promised. We are pleased with the quality of his work, as well as, the care he showed in both the setup and clean up. This was the first time we hired Jim; and we can clearly see that he takes pride in his work. So, we would certainly call on him again when other projects arise.

Jim is a really nice guy. He is very professional and very honest. We had been emailing back and forth for many months. I had a lot of questions and concerns and he was very patient in answering my questions and providing suggestions. He warned me that a lot of things can go wrong when working on older houses. The project in question was an update to my bathroom. I live in a rowhome and the bathroom is tiny so I didn’t think it should take that long but Jim blocked out 3 days for the project. It ended up taking the whole 3 days. As he predicted, there were several hiccups along the way. He worked very diligently to fix everything that unexpectedly needed fixing. He also accommodated a few, minor last minute additions to the project. He did not charge for the unexpected issues, only for the things that I asked him to add. Because of this the final cost was a few hundred dollars more than the estimate. Despite the many extra hours of unexpected labor, he made sure to charge me a reasonable amount that would not break my bank. Another thing I loved about Jim is that he is very clean. When he left for the day he barely left of trace. The project: The paint on the ceiling and the skylight was peeling, crumbling, and just generally unsightly. There was also some uneven bumpiness in the ceiling under the paint. The paint was also ripped off of the wall from where I removed the old showed curtain rod years ago. He smoothed all of that out and re-painted and now the ceiling/skylight/walls look wonderful. He also replaced the medicine cabinet and sink vanity, and installed a new light fixture and a makeup mirror on the side. He installed a new doorknob as well to coordinate with the knobs on the new medicine cabinet and sink vanity. Se pictures attached. Much better right?

Jim has done several jobs for us and we have always been pleased with how it turned out. Some kitchen drawers had bad sliders and he replaced them, he re-hung a large folding door, and most recently he re-tiled our kitchen floor. Jim can tackle many different kinds of jobs. He also is very easy to work with as he is honest in all of his pricing, keeping us regularly informed of progress, etc. Since he is often working by himself (sometimes with one assistant) the jobs can take longer than with a crew but he is always doing a careful job for a reasonable price.

The finished job looked amazing. I couldn't have imagined a better outcome. Communication was great and my questions were always promptly answered. The project took two weeks and finished exactly on time. I always knew what was going on and where we stood. I would definitely recommend and will use again. My only regret is not writing this review sooner. These guys are professional and fantastic to work with.

Overall, well. Some minor issues getting the old microwave out, wall needed repair before new one went in.

Jim's performance and quality was terrific. He showed up on time, did meticulous work and made sure that everything was clean when he was done. Also, two valences were slightly too big to fit, but Jim was able to cut them down to a perfect size so they could be installed.

Jim arrived on time and efficiently did the work requested. I had the parts and Jim was able to accomplish the repairs within the estimated timeframe. He was polite, knowledgable, cleaned up. Would ask him to do work again.75.

The windows still leak with a heavy rain but we knew there was a chance of that.

He was punctual for the estimate and actual work. His estimate was returned to us quickly and was a firm cost that included all materials. We provided the touch-up paint. There was a delay between the estimate and work due in part to waiting for appropriate weather. We felt that the work was of high caliber and were very satisfied with the outcome.

Mr. Anderson was the only handyman that I contacted that actually responded to my inquiry about several projects we have in mind. He explained that his schedule was full up to a certain date, but that he could give me an estimate if I could wait for the work. When I answered that most of the work could wait but the door replacement was urgent, he kindly squeezed us in when he had an unexpected opening. He was prompt and extremely communicative when compared to many contractors I have worked with over the years. That was wonderful!

Jim did a very professional job and I'm very pleased with the result. He took his time removing all of the existing grout and although it took a lot longer than we'd expected, it was well worth the extra time and expense.

Jim Anderson, the handyman, did his work extremely well and took on more without objection as need arose. We will hire him for any other work of which he might be capable. He charges $75 an hour, works efficiently, cleans up after himself, and offers sound advice about possible matters that need future attention. Moreover, he is as personable as he is capable. It was he who introduced us to Will Frisby of W.F. Painting and Drywall, who has done a superb job painting our upstairs..

Jim arrived on time and worked the entire time he was here. He was very thorough and precise, and I appreciated his attention to detail. I would definitely hire him again.

Jim installed a Closetmaid Impressions closet organizer in our bedroom that we bought at Home Depot and he did an absolutely amazing job! Getting in touch with him was a little difficult (it took him almost a week to return my call). If this happens to anyone else my advice would be to be patient unless it's something you need done immediately because Jim really is as much of a skilled and honest handyman as his truck implies. He came out to our house on a Saturday morning to look at the closet and estimated that it would take him 2 hours to complete the job at $75 per hour. He even looked at a couple miscellaneous things around my house while he was there giving me the estimate. We scheduled the job for the following Thursday. He was running about an hour late on the day of the job but he called ahead to let me know. Long story short, the project ended up taking him 4.5 hours to complete. I was nervous as he was working because I did NOT want to spend a ton money on the closet (the organizer itself wasn't cheap). However, he assured me after about 3 hours that although the installation was taking him longer than he thought it would to complete we would work out a compromise that was fair to the both of us. In the end, he finished the job and charged me for 3 hours. I was happy to pay $75 more than the estimate because Jim was very kind and extremely thorough. He didn't rush through the job once it became clear that it was more involved than he realized. Instead, he kept working meticulously and gave us a new closet that we love and haven't had any problems with. I highly recommend Your Handyman and More to anyone in need of handyman services.
