Contractor was on time, reliable and communication was very good. Old house, things not square or "common sense" according to contemporary building standards, but contractor got it done despite the difficulties with the site. We bought some cabinetry that did not precisely fit with the HVAC, and they worked to make it fit. Some extras not charged to us, very gracious. Jobsite very clean every day. Overall experience very good. Not the cheapest, but quality, reliability and communication count.

Hunter had actually done work for my brother in law and was highly recommended. I have to second that rec. He and his crew were superb. Very professional and easy to work with. Hunter set out a detailed timeline and stuck to it. In fact job finished two days early. Pleasure to do business with a great group of experienced workers. I would highly recommend Renaissance. We anticipate using Hunter for all our future remodeling needs.

Hunter Steadley and his crew transformed three dreadful and neglected spaces into an amazing treetop hideaway. We are thrilled with the final results, and wake every morning to a 270 degree view of the trees and skyline. Overall we are very happy with the project, but as with any construction project it was not without glitches Mr. Steadley is my ideal for a contractor’s project manager. He is fair, straightforward, and responsive. We selected his company over several other bids, despite a slightly higher price, because we felt that he had a thorough understanding of the project (hopefully minimizing surprises down the line). We weren't disappointed. Every problem that arose was dealt with promptly and without argument. He worked with us to stay within budget and to maintain a productive schedule. Unfortunately problems did arise, which is why we can't give a perfect rating. Renaissance has several teams of skilled workers to do the demolition, rough carpentry and finish work. (They subcontracted out the electrical and plumbing.) We had the A-team for demolition and rough carpentry – they were fast, efficient, and high quality. Finish work, specifically hardwood floors and tile, was another story (and a different team) and without going into details we had a number of issues with workmanship that have taken too much time to resolve. But these issues have been resolved and we are happy with the final product. I’ve waited almost a year to write this review because I wanted to be able to comment on responsiveness to issues during the warranty period. I am pleased to say that Mr. Steadley has been quick to respond (although the B-team is still on the job). I would definitely consider hiring Renaissance Contractors again because a no-nonsense working relationship is what made this project successful.

They were wonderful when they were here. It has been a little while, but I am planning to call them for an estimate on some bathroom work we are going to get done. They were so good. Their price was good. We have had several estimates. What I really enjoyed about them is that he had people that work with him that when they said that they would be there, they were there. Everyday my house was clean as clean as you can get it as a construction area. Every time they left, they left it as clean as it could have been. They just really were great to work with. The work they did all held up.

Hunter is professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I'm disappointed I couldn't move forward with the renovation, due to personal circumstances. I hope to work with Hunter in the future and highly recommend him.

Job was started and completed on time and we were very satisfied. However, about 4 months after completion minor defects started showing up. Called the owner and he came out promptly. He said he would fix problems in about 2 weeks. He never came back. Contacted him again in June 2014. Sent me an e-mail saying he would turn the repairs over to the guy who actually did the work. Its now 1 year since the job was finished and haven't heard anymore. He said his work was warranted for one year, but so far he as refused to honor it. Subsequent to this review the guy who actually did the work called and explained that he had been told to perform the warranty work, but forgot. All repairs have been completed to our satisfaction. As far as his statement that the roof was leaking, its a myth. I Got bids from 4 roofers and none said the roof was leaking

We do not have anything negative to say about this company and we would give them an A across the board. Hunter was on time, professional and got back to us in a timely manner. Everything is just on hold.

It was a husband and wife team that worked for the contractor. They did a wonderful job. They left the house clean everyday and they came on time every morning. They sent me an itinerary before they even started, with the project they were doing each day and they finished each project on schedule.

Hunter from Renaissance Contractors, updated 2 Bathrooms, also installed new windows through out & several other smaller jobs, in the past years. Kitchen was getting old & worn looking. Hunter gave me a price to put in a new ceiling with indirect lighting,electrical work & plumbing & new counter top & sink, also to paint the many old brown wood cabinets I have, White & install new chrome hardware. He told me when he could start & when it would be finished with a breakdown of what would be done each day. Since I have dealt with him in the past on my other jobs I knew that I could count on him to do exactly what he said. His workmen do an excellent job & are trustworthy. They are prompt & clean up after themselves. The kitchen looks so beautiful & fresh, it looks like I had spent 2 or 3 times more on it than I did. I am very pleased & would not have anyone else to do my work. Janet Witman

I have had very good experience with them. He did a good job. He has good subcontractors, did the work speedily, and it was good quality.

They did nothing that was promised. The price kept fluctuating throughout the job. Painters and workers weren't showing up as promised. We felt like we were being nickeled and dimed by the contactor. He was stating that certain things needed to be done and the companies that were being subcontracted were stating they didn't need to be performed. I would not use them again or recommend them to anyone.

The company was very very nice, this is just a bad time for me to do this improvement.

From the initial consultation, Hunter was extremely helpful in guiding us through this renovation project. He asked what we liked and disliked about our current bath and helped us make decisions for changes that we would be happy with. He gave his professional opinion when needed and respected our preferences. The timeline that Hunter provided was adhered to by all the sub-contractors, with only minor delays due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The companies that he recommended for materials and fixtures were great, knew Hunter and his expectations, and worked with each other to help us coordinate our purchases. Our crew was led by Alex, with George as his primary assistant. We can't say enough good things about these guys. With all of the horror stories you hear about sub-contractors, it was a welcome relief to have these guys working with us every day. They arrived promptly each morning, and we reviewed what was going to be done that day. They also gave good opinions when asked and listened to our feedback as to what we wanted done. They kept all areas clean and protected. Hunter is VERY responsive, both by cell phone and e-mail. We have constantly been amazed at how often he answers his phone directly. He continually checked in on the work being done to ensure it was to our satisfaction. We are very pleased with the final outcome of our renovation and are very happy that we chose Hunter and Renaissance. The best comment we can give is that we would readily recommend him to anyone looking for a home contractor. We had a very positive experience.

From start to finish it was smooth sailing. We have used Renaissance before, so we knew to expect quality work, good communication and a timely completion. All of which were achieved thanks to Hunter, his skilled crew and equally professional subcontractors. Being able to trust that your home improvement project will be completed to your satisfaction and at the highest level of quality is what you get when you use Renaissance Contracting.

After an email inquiry through Angie's list, we received a quick call back to schedule a meeting with Hunter. We met at a convenient time and walked step by step through the entire project. Hunter offered great ideas and helped us to visualize the project. He coordinated meetings with his subcontractors and we soon received the completed estimate. Hunter's estimate was by far the most detailed and concise estimate that we received for the project. Once we accepted the contract, Hunter scheduled a start date and even assisted with selecting plumbing fixtures. I cannot speak highly enough about the crew that Hunter selected for our project. Lance and Dave in particular are miracle workers. On time, professional, clean, kind and detail oriented - we looked forward to seeing them each morning! They take pride in their work and will do what it takes to ensure that the project is completed perfectly. We were impressed with their dedication and how quickly they finished the project. Throughout the entire process, Hunter was a great communicator. Very accessible and always keeping our project on track. One of our biggest fears, were the "extras" and or change orders that you hear about. We did not experience this, Hunter was true to his estimate and we were not met with any surprises. This was truly a blessing on such a large project. Renaissance is absolutely the best contractor; they were able to make a large, complex renovation a very pleasant experience. Our friends and family are all very impressed with the quality of their work. You will not regret selecting Hunter and his team.

Hunter Steadley provided detailed estimates based on drawings and feedback. He recommended vendors for the plumbing fixtures, tile, and cabinet work. The approach Renaissance uses is to have the owner buy the fixtures, tile, cabinet work and accessories. Renaissance provides all the labor and the construction materials. Hunter provided a detailed schedule at the beginning of the project and kept to it. The team that did the work was extremely responsive.They were knowledgeable about the challenges of working in historic houses. They worked very carefully, were very neat, and did top quality work. At one point in the project I disagreed with how they detailed the tile feature strip as it turned the corner. Without any push back or any additional charges they made the requested change. Overall the group was a pleasure to work with, the project went very smoothly, and we are very happy with the result.

They have very good craftsmanship and communication. Things went very well with them.

Their work was very, very good. It was excellent. They did a beautiful job. They came out, gave us the estimate, we agreed and he told us when his workers would start and approximately how long it would take. The workers were very competent. They workers also cleaned up after themselves as well. We highly recommend them.

They are wonderful. He worked with contractors that knew what they were doing and who he trusted. He always personally checked every contractor when they were here; to make sure they were doing the work. He worked with me to make me feel comfortable with what he was going to do. Everything he did was on time. Everytime his workers left my house, they swept and cleaned. They never left my house with any dust on the floor or any trash in the house. He is one of the very few contractors that worked with my schedule to meet our needs. He was willing to work with just me there, when my husband couldn’t be, which was great.They made the available space I had during project livable. He was conscious knowing that we had to use things as soon as possible. One of the best experiences I have had. He made everything easy. The price was very reasonable and he does excellent work. I have a gorgeous kitchen!

Hunter was very prompt in answering questions and providing detail. After agreeing to the work from his simplified proposal, Hunter drafted a detailed contract, with floor plan. We reviewed in detail and signed. Hunter arranged to meet at Lowes to select fixtures and provided advice where necessary. He arranged meeting at KG tile where we made our selections - he had already arranged with them so they were prepared for our visit. He introduced the workmen who were always prompt and professional. All questions we had during the work were answered promptly and any issues (minor only) were resolved quickly. Work was completed on the schedule originally provided and the work was excellent.

I am probably going to use them but am not sure yet. The experience of them coming out for the quote went very well. They had some good ideas, were responsive and listened to what I had to say. They gave me ideas and looked to save me money.
