They came 11 weeks ago from this date. They fixed the one toilet. They determined to fix the kitchen sink they needed a part. 8 weeks yes 8 weeks later the part came. I have been calling several times a week to get it finished and no one has called back. I have had to use tub to wash dishes all this time to wash my dishes. This morning from using the tub to do dishes, the latch you pull to trigger the shower came off in my hand. So now I called again and SURPRISE got the answering machine. Unbelievable service. Not sure how they are still in business

Hi, I was referred to H&K by my home warranty AHS. The initial visit was professional and they seem to know what to do. Regular plumbing guys no spectacular thing. They did offer to do a toilet job that was not covered under warranty. However they raised their price because of COVID -19 so I decided not to let them do the job. They came back and fixed the kitchen sink and was able identify the leak from the sink was causing water in basement, which was a huge help and saved me money on thinking it was coming from outside. When they came back to complete the job they were great, and got us up running with no assistance needed. They did not disturb us and could work efficiently without help or direction which is always a plus for me. Thank you H&K for your service.

I was referred to H&K through AHS for a leak in my ceiling. Before the tech came there was NO hole in my ceiling. When the tech got here he needed to cut an access hole. By the time he fixed the leak there was a gaping hole left in my ceiling. He actually said, "Boy I made a big hole" before he left. I called AHS to have the contractor to come and repair the damage that H&K made and after that tech came I was told that they needed authorization to fix the hole. When AHS contacted H&K for authorization they had the audacity to LIE AND TELL THEM THAT THEY MADE NO ACCESS HOLE IN MY CEILING. 3 weeks later I am still trying to get all of this sorted out.

I had to have all of the plumbing in the basement replaced. They arrived when they said they were going to arrive. They were polite, friendly, and respectful. They identified the problem quickly and quoted me a reasonable price on the spot. I did not shop the job around, so I don't know how they compare; I was just happy to have someone pleasant and responsive to work with. They came in and got the job done, staying well past business hours to do it. They cleaned up properly and disposed of everything when they were done when and I haven't had a problem since.

Beware of this "company". They have now changed their name to H & K plumbing for obvious reasons. I use two home warranty companies, American Home Shield and Total Protect. Both home warranties have sent Advanced Plumbing to my properties for simply plumbing repairs. On three different jobs, the same technician came out and said basically the same thing. Either he did not have the proper tools or he said the warranty company did not cover the repair. Each time, he collect up to $100 service fee and left without fixing anything.
Description of Work: Three different jobs over a one year period. Toilet repair and replace leaky faucets.

On the very day we were moving into our new house, a Monday, the sewer backed up in the basement. I called our home warranty company at 8 am and they sent out Advanced Drain Cleaning who arrived around 2. The technician asked me to run the shower again so he could see what happened, resulting in another small flood to our basement. Then he declared that our sewer was backed up and that they could not fix it until tomorrow when they would need to come out with different equipment. In the mean time we could not use ANY plumbing at all. They charged me $65 just for showing up, and would not take a credit card for the amount unless I prepaid an additional $300 for the next day's repair at the same time. Because we were exhausted, frazzled and without toilets, we just paid them. The next afternoon (Tuesday) they arrived on time at around 3. 2 technicians augered out the drain and informed me that I had roots in my sewer and would most likely need to have the sewer line replaced in a year or two. He advised that we buy Rootkill and pour it down the drain once every 3 months. We spent a total of $365 with them plus bought and applied the Rootkill. Their service lasted us all of 3 DAYS. First thing Saturday morning, the sewer backed right up again. We hired a different company, Catons, to clear the line and put a camera down it. Catons came out within 2 hours with the right equipment and cleared the line again and pulled out a huge pile of roots that Advanced Drain Cleaning missed. Advanced Drain Cleaning did not do a thorough job nor were they very speedy with something so time sensitive as working toilets versus sewage in our basement. I would not use them again.

Description of Work: I had a problem where the pressure relief valve on my water heater had a light stream of water flowing out of it. I have a homeowners warranty through HMS and this is the company they use. Apparently, it was not the water heater or the pressure relief valve, but the water pressure in my home is at 92psi and it builds to 150psi on the water heater as this is the pressure at which the valve operates. The service call cost me $75, which I guess is reasonable, and I was told if I had the work done to add a pressure regulator to my water line, the $75 would be applied to that work. Have not diecided on whether to do the work, or use this company if I do.

This company was sent by American Home Shield to assess my leaking water heater and a bathtub that overflowed into the light fixture in the bathroom below it on the first floor. He said to tell my son not to let it overflow but told AHS that he unstopped a drain that was clogged due to hair. My son has very short hair so I don't know where all this hair came from. His hair is maybe 1 mm long! It still didn't address that when it does overflow why is it going through the pipes and draining into a light fixture! He said we needed a new water heater but AHS only covers the installation cost and the price of the water heater. We were responsible for the rest. The rest ended up being $520!!! Permit 150.00......Expansion Tank 200.00........Tailpipe to drain 50.00...... Removal and disposal 120.00.......Called my plumber who told me this guy is trying to rip me off and that these costs were very inflated. Now I have to get my plumber out here to look at both. I would not recommend this company to a Porta Pot dealer!

I have an annual home warranty with American Home Shield (AHS) that covers among other things the replacement cost of a water heater (including labor) should it be deemed necessary. I am currently renovating a rental property and recently discovered that my water heater was leaking on the basement floor. Normally I would call GLENOAK PLUMBING INC. whom I used several times with great satisfaction (as reported on Angie's List), however with AHS you are given a plumber of their choosing. As ADVANCED PLUMBING & DRAIN CLEANING has recently taught me, this is a great drawback. The good news is that the plumber sent by this company determined immediately that a new water heater was required...although since the water heater was over 30 years old I suppose he did not have much choice in this determination. Also, in this company's favor is that the new water heater that he wanted to install was a good brand as confirmed by two licensed master plumbers that I know well. Unfortunately, the good news ends there. The plumber for ADVANCED PLUMBING & DRAIN CLEANING added several additional charges that were of course not covered by my AHS home warranty...namely: 1) Permit & Inspection $150 2) Expansion Tank $150 3) Pan $40 4) Removal & Disposal $100 Now as far as #1-3 above go...I am fine with purchasing those items if they are necessary under "Code" as this company claims. What I am not fine with is paying double and triple the cost of what it would cost me with the aforementioned licensed master plumbers I contacted. I also do not appreciate being asked to pay $100 for the removal & disposal of my old water heater when I am told this is usually done as a cutesy. I can also attest from personal experience that I have exchanged numerous water heaters in my time and never been charged for the removal & disposal of my old water heater. Also, it needs mentioning that under the AHS warranty procedure, I had to pay $60 to this company just to show up. Lastly, you may notice that with the $60 fee already paid and the addition of the other above charges (ie. adding to $440) my total becomes a nice round number of $500. Since the plumber had originally written a $100 fee for the permit & inspection (which I was told actually costs $52) and subsequently changed this number to $150...I think he was listing random prices that would add up to $500. Anyways, to now end my saga with the not so advanced "ADVANCED PLUMBING & DRAIN CLEANING" I'll tell you now what happened when I called this company to explain to them that I was not going to pay these prices. To put it simply, I felt that they could not care less about what I thought as their customer. They had my $60 and customer satisfaction did not seem to interest them. They were not willing to go down a cent on anything. The lady I spoke with was not the most friendly person I have ever had the pleasure to speak with either but that is a minor point in this case. My sincere advice is to not hire this company.
Description of Work: ADVANCED PLUMBING & DRAIN CLEANING came to my home to inspect my leaking water heater to determine whether it could be repaired or if a new water heater was necessary.
