John Krause was recommended to me by a good friend who had been very pleased with his work. I wanted to add a sunroom to the back of my home and I had several contractors give me their prices. John listened to what I wanted and his bid was the most affordable. His workers were very professional, and they all did an amazing job. They completed the job at budget and sooner than expected. I am delighted with my new room, and I have enthusiastically recommended John to many of my friends, who also were extremely happy with his work. Eileen Cimbolic

All of the crews that worked here over an 8 week period did an excellent job. I was particularly concerned about nails in the carport and driveway from the old deck debris and in the process of building the new decks, but I needn't have worried. The job sites were completely cleaned up each day when they left. No sooner had the new laundry room been finished, than a leak developed in a corner. The guys came back, had to cut into the new drywall, and subsequently call a plumber. I came home from work to discover the plumbing crew replacing a section of sewer pipe! The walls were then quickly patched and repainted. Though construction is stressful, particularly in the home, I never doubted the work would be done professionally and neatly. I particularly appreciated the priority status we were given during our plumbing emergency. I wholeheartedly recommend Krause construction!

John Krause Construction performed a demolition and complete rebuild of our custom home in 2012. John and his crew are meticulous craftsman who take extra care to ensure tasks are done correctly. From the framing to the siding through the finish carpentry, John?s attention to detail is reflected in the finished product. Throughout the build, we had every confidence they were building our house as if it was theirs. We are very pleased with the final result and thoroughly enjoyed working with John and his crew. Crews arrived and were professional and knowledgeable Work was conducted accurately and safely, was completed on time and within budget Well organized contracting firm, I would not hesitate to work with him and his company in the future

It went very well. The guys were very polite and respectful, especially Louis! They worked hard and continuously for several days until all was competed. I have to say my house looks pretty spectacular now. It is all so fresh and clean. Louis even took down a couple of well liked overhead lighting fixtures, spray painted them from Brass to Brushed Nickel, and they look like brand new. They were very careful and cleaned up after themselves. It was nice that they were all so well spoken. I enjoyed working with them.

The first day was 16$ and they charged 499$ they would have finished the work early but it was like they were fooling around, they were instead watching the big football game, they were trying to make their day go buy so that the charge 38$ for the men yet they would have got done in two hours. He completed the job but he has to come and remove the paint on the wood floor, they did not clean up, they scratched my wood floor, and he was saying he was going to do the side for free but i knew it was a bunch of crap. It was a bunch of project but he never finished it.

They did a great job. Mr. Krouse was informative and had great suggestions. They had to work around the spring rainfalls but they managed to secure and protected my roof through the rain storms that interrupted the completion of the job. I would definitely hire them again.

I purchased the Angie's big deal - $1,499 for 35 hours general contracting - a "$4,000 value." I've given a lot of thought to writing this review. I've concluded that maybe I got $1,499 in services but definitely not $4,000 worth. There were scheduling issues and they never seemed to be on top of what they had going on or what they agreed to. One of the workers way over-stated the number of hours he worked. Since I was here I had written down his arrival and departure times but had to have several conversations with the owner before he believed me. One day I couldn't be here and I was told that two men were here for 8 hours each to apply stain to the deck. It took one man 4 hours to power wash the deck. Does it take 16 man hours to apply the stain? That's what I was told. I'm skeptical.

John Krause Construction has been a great company to work with. The crew members are very professional and have a great deal of knowledge in the fields they work in. The office was a pleasure to talk to and always gave me an answer or found out promptly. The work that was done looks great. The flooring I picked ut was a beautiful bamboo word. The precise way it was installed makes the area look brand new. The garage looks like an apartment not ever a garage. I would 100% hire John Krause Construction again.

So the crew has left and I have to say that I am really disappointed. Verona in customer service was lovely to work with and Paul's crew was polite and worked hard, but I am left with a very incomplete project based on what the owner, John Kraus said they could do. When John was here to estimate the job, he felt confident they could finish the entire first floor and possibly the stairs with a two man crew for two days. That is what we planned for and even pulled all of the carpet ourselves and removed but two pieces.of furniture to make it even more efficient. This was also how we budgeted and ordered the laminate and molding. Instead, we had a four man crew arrive this morning to work today. And while the work they did looks good, they did not finish even the two rooms they were working on, let alone the entire first floor. My refrigerator is in the middle of the kitchen, I have flooring through most of the family room, but no shoe molding on three walls, No flooring at all in the pantry or along one entire wall of the kitchen, and a floor vent cut far too small to reinstall the vent cover. Scraps of flooring which could still be used were thrown in a trash pile and although Paul showed me the receipt for the subfloor they purchased today, he charged me more than $160 more than that cost. Finally the estimate to complete the work which John indicated could be done given the hours we purchased was an additional three days and $3300! Obviously it was a gross overestimate of what could be accomplished in 35 man hours, but one that I counted on and instead leaves me with a completely unfinished service. I cannot move furniture back into any of the rooms, have a completely untouched room filled with the laminate we ordered and have had to seek out another contractor. This has been a very disappointing experience with a big deal. Five days later this has gone from bad to worse. I have had no response whatsoever from Krause about my concerns and a piece of flooring they installed has already buckled! In the meantime, the second contractor I hired finished all of the work Krause quoted me three days and $3300 for in a single day and completed two additional rooms beyond that. Same number of guys on the crew as Krause, and far better quality work.

I spoke with veronica, who was very nice and responsive. We were able to schedule an appointment for John to come out within two business days. However, when he cam out I was informed that the deal was priced for a ground deck, and a mid-level deck would cost more. At this time I'm unable to pursue the deck, but would be open to working with this company in the future.

I want to first start off by saying that my bathroom looks amazing!!! I contacted John because they advertised a big deal. There was work that the deal covered that I didn't really need. John came out and listened to what I wanted done, the budget I had to work with, and came to agreement on the services to be provided. I had talked to two other contractors but John listened to what I wanted and worked with me and my budget. It was a 12 working day job. The crew is friendly and professional. They covered my hardwood floors from the front door, up the stairs, to the entry of the bathroom. They took care to cleanup at the end of the day. They made sure I was satisfied with the job.. All the white 4x4 tile was removed (floor and tub surround) including the white tile base molding. The toilet was removed and set aside (I did not need the toilet replaced). The sub-flooring under the toilet was water damaged due to a leak i was not aware of. They replaced the sub-flooring and a section of pipe for the toilet. They were able to fix the leak that caused the damage. The tub and tub fixtures (faucet, handle,shower head) were replaced. There was a slight mishap with the tub but they replaced it without any problems. As I requested, a niche was built into the wall for shampoo and liquid soap bottles. The tile was installed to ceiling as requested and the floor and wall tile was installed so cleanly. It did not have the grout caking that was previously very apparent in the builder installed tile. New sink faucets (supplied by me) were installed and the cabinets stained a darker color. The painter who preformed the staining and painted the bathroom and trim does amazing work. When he started the painting of the walls he had me come in to make sure I was satisfied with the color. When he stained the cabinets, he tweaked the color until I was happy with the stain. The mix he came up with make my cabinets look new and rich. I wish I could remember all their names so I could give them individual shout outs but unfortunately this is a shortcoming of mine. I am terrible with names. Suffice it to say, they are an amazing crew and it was a pleasure to have them do this job. I hope to do the master bath next year and I will be calling John Krause Construction for that job and my future kitchen make over.

He came out around 11:30, looked at the jobs I needed done, I gave him a copy of the list of things I need done and he knew this was a big deal I purchased. I knew if there were to be extra time or work I would need to pay more and we were both on the same page. 2 hours later, I get a call from his office that it he was concerned with the safety of his crew and weren't going to be able to the things I asked.

When I found John Krause on Angies list I was happy because I wanted to use a family owned business. He promptly returned my call so we could get started on pricing. The estimate was done the following day. His staff was on time and welcomed any questions I had. If I had any other questions, I would call the office and get my questions answered. The jobsite was cleaned up everyday to ensure safety. I would defiantly recommend John Krause to others.

John and his crews arrived on time and did a great job on the garage. Left the work area clean after they were done. His work replicated the architecture of the deck home we live in, it looks great! I had a few estimates to do the job and John's was in line with the others. He was always available to answer questions and communicated well with other contractors. Overall a very pleasant experience.

John Krause was prompt in inspecting the window and stairs and providing an estimate. He stated that the price might be lower than the estimate, if the job went well; he had built in some margin, as it was impossible to anticipate how bad the damage was before removing the siding. The final bill was at least 10% below the estimate. Two of his workers started when promised, and completed the job in a little over one day. The quality of the work was very good, and they left my property clean of all work materials.
