Extremely punctual, professional, and thorough in breakdowns on price and work. Chris came out and explained things in detail; clearly knowledgeable on every aspect of decks and porches - and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend!

I contracted with SBC for demo of an old deck and construction of paver patio and 3 season room. Pros: -Very happy with end result. -Good quality work -lowest comparable estimate -communication with project manager Steve who offered great suggestions for enhancements to the project and visited the job frequently. I liked working with him, we were able to work out various issues. Cons: - weeks delays during construction some unexplained. - problems with permits with Howard County resulted in the county issuing a stop work order until construction issues could be resolved. Based on information i received, the plans initially submitted did not coincide with actual construction. Sbc stated a miscommunication with the county on project scope. The county stated sbc was not following proper inspection protocols. - SBC would not commit to timeframes for phases of completion despite my requests. When They would make promises on work schedule, they did not keep it. I was not unreasonable, only trying to hold them to their promises. We were hoping for an 8-10 week timeframe but due to delays, some understandably due to winter weather, the project took 5 months. There were over 8 weeks in total where no work whatsoever took place resulting in our frustration in dealing with them and the reason for the 3 star rating. I would recommend using SBC based on the overall quality of the work, but with the contingency that the contract include expected timeframes for completion of phases and final overall completion. My impression is they seem hesitant to make commitments.

Do not hire this company! They have no idea how to actually take care if anything. They are responsible for the common areas of my neighborhood, and they are clueless. They have mulched the trees horribly, which will eventually kill the trees. To the owner, please educate your employees on how to properly do their jobs.

I hired SBC to install a bluestone walkway, plantings and lighting. I couldn't be happier with the entire process and end result!! From my initial meeting with their designer Joe, working through specs and details, to meeting the field supervisor and crew, they were extremely professional, timely and communicated well. Our next project is a pool and covered porch and SBC will be my first and only call. Thanks for everything!

Brad is super easy to talk with. He sent someone out in the same week. His prices are reasonable and the lawn mower was prompt and friendly. I also appreciated that prior to arriving, he was able to look at my house online via satellite and give me an estimate on the spot. Also when they could not get the mower through the gate of my fence, they were prepared with a push mower.

They did such a beautiful job with an area we could not even use before they did their work. They were six guys that communicated with us so well and worked very hard and cleaned up every day.
