We appreciate your business and apologize that you are upset with the timing of your services. As discussed, we cannot do most things when it comes to rain in the forecast. We do not want to risk the quality of our services by completing projects on areas that may not do well due to the moisture in the ground. Our crews always strive to complete services in bad weather but we cannot foresee the complete impact to our projects and timing until we get into working on it. The details on the scope of work and what needs to be executed is very transparent from our sales staff, to the production staff, so our crew leaders know exactly what needs to be done. Furthermore, on projects such as these, clients do not necessarily need to be home for our crews to complete as the details on the scope of work are fairly basic and quick to complete. Your services were delayed 1.5 days from 2 days of rain. With the weather, we can't control it, so all we can do is try our best to work with it and reschedule clients as quickly as possible.

Very well. Juan and Luis were pleasant and very efficient.They arrived promptly on time as scheduled. They asked my input into tapering the end of wall. They replaced and smoothed the soil around the bushes and completely cleaned up after the project. I am very pleased with the results and have received compliments from friends on seeing the wall.

Description of Work: This is the second year I have hired them to mow the grass for me. They have always done a fantastic job. Since I was planning on renting my house; I didn't go to the property for a few weeks/months. Once I noticed they completely missed the entire backside of my property. By then it completely overgrown. They attempted to fix which they but at that point it was too late. Now my entire backside of my property looks bad. Their price was fair and close so I figured I'd use them again this year. Now they increased my rate to $50 dollars a mow and now do not perform bi-weekly service. Therefore my bill goes from $90 to $200 a month. That's over a 50% increase in my bill a month weekly service that I don't need. Not the best way to keep your customers. Either they didn't value my business or they wanted to make it worthwhile for them. Looks like I'll have to find a new provider.
Description of Work: I have been using them since October of 2015 to cut my small yard. We have about .15 acres; they would cut it every other week. It was $45.00 per cut. I'd have to be more specific if some areas needed trimming or addressed.

We certainly appreciate the business from both 2015 and 2016. As for the far backside of the property that was missed, it was an area that was not clearly defined as mowable/maintainable lawn so therefore it was never serviced. Since it was a rental property and regular visits were not made by the owner, it wasn't until the property was visited weeks later to find out these stated areas were not being cut. We do apologize for this and would have surely maintained it if we had known. In regard to the rate increase, we have maintained the same rates for several years. Just this year, we had a policy change for 2017 in both our minimum charge for residential lawn mowing and the frequency of service. Our minimum charge is now at $50.00 per mowing and frequency is done on a weekly basis. Bi-weekly service is no longer offered. As we continue to grow, we routinely have to reevaluate our pricing structures to ensure its beneficial for the company along with attempting to keep rates as competitive as possible without jeopardizing the quality of work we provide. We very much appreciate the prior business and if anything changes in the future please keep us in mind. Thank you!

Not good! I called to try and meet with the service person to talk, but they never came on time, so I was never able to meet. I did not see any improvement in my lawn. When they take the service for one year and they have to try to meet with the owner just once. He is to confirm what they are looking for and things like that. This is not based on one service done on October 24th. This is for several services done since the Spring of 2016. They came over several times & my rating was for the overall service for the year/5 or 6 times.

I've used Edwards for two seasons with multiple services. I started with the lawn rejuvenation and fertilization program with amazing results. The cost was also very competitive, so I've kept coming back to seek their advice and services. They have been adding services to their portfolio and quoted me tree removal prices. The price was lower than a company that I quoted the cheapest out of four companies the year prior. Great work and removal of debri. They always seem to do one step extra in the services they are here to perform. They are very courteous, professional, detailed oriented, and one of the things I appreciate the most - customer service oriented.

Best prices and nice to have everything all provided by one person. Prompt service, professional, and always willing to take the extra step in the service. I asked about a few changes/improvements and if was redoing the quote or having someone come back out for a small change - Edwards did it! Will use them for years!

If we had attempted to aerated the yard, the ground was so hard at the time the tines on the core aerator wouldn't have penetrated the soil. Initially, our communication went well with Edward's Lawn & Home. We dealt primarily with Kyle. About a week after we first called, someone came out and spoke with my husband about what we wanted done. They surveyed our yard and then emailed a quote. We appreciated how the proposal was organized by the 6 things we wanted done and included photos and a price for each component. We ended up getting 5 of the 6 things done for approximately $1,875. The workers showed up on time and cleaned up after they were done. My husband was home at the time and noted, however, that no one rang the bell to let him know when they were finished. As a result, they didn't get the tip was husband was going to give them and he had to go out on his own (after they had already left) to check that everything was done. It was and we were initially satisfied. Then, things went down hill from there. About a month later, we noticed that 4 of the bushes they planted were starting to turn brown. We were watering all of them at the same time and the same amount so we couldn't figure out why some were dying and the others weren't. A few weeks later, the 4 bushes were all dead. I took photos and contacted Kyle via email (that way, I could attach the pictures). He responded about 48 hrs later saying he would speak to someone in his office and get back to me. He never did. So, about 2 weeks later, I called the office and spoke to someone who took down the issue and my telephone number and said they would call me back. No one ever did. So, about two weeks after that, I called back and spoke to a new person. She said the office was without a receptionist for a while and apologized that my call wasn't returned. She said she wasn't sure what bushes I had planted, but at least one other client had some of his bushes die on him. She thought maybe they same shrub was planted at both his home and mine. She took down my information and said Kyle would call us back within a few days. Guess what - no one ever called. So - you guessed it - I waited about a week after we were supposed to get a call and then called Edward's Lawn & Home. I got the same women I spoke to the previous time. She was very nice and apologized again. For a second time, she took my information and said Kyle would call back. And yes - you guessed right again - we still haven't heard from a soul. It's such horrible customer service not to even call us back. Yes, I'm pissed that we have 4 dead bushes in front of our home, and I'm upset that we spent about $1,900 and now we have to spend even more money to have the shrubs replaced, and I'm mad that I thought Edward's Lawn & Home would live up to its promises because they had such great reviews on Angie's list. I would never recommend this company to anyone. *UPDATED 10/17/16* Since the company resolved the issue, I have changed the overall grade to a C, the price to a B, and the Quality to a B.

The first call was 8/23/16 in regard to wanting an aeration and overseeding for $99.00. The store front offer of $99 hasn't been available for purchase to Angie's List members since the fall of 2015. You very well could have purchased this deal last year, however, we are no longer offering this service at this price. When you called back we looked up the square footage and the property and it measured out to a 1/2 an acre in size. Even if this $99 deal was still available, it would not have been valid on this sized lot, the old $99 was for service up to 1/4 an acre.

I really enjoyed our experience with Edwards' Lawn. The people who answered the phones were always on-point and friendly, rather than sounding like the type of people who hate their jobs and you for even calling. Kyle came out on-time for a pleasant estimate discussion even in the freezing weather. He had creative ideas that I hadn't thought of, and included them in a timely, well-written, detailed estimate (with options and pictures!) When we couldn't act right away, there was no nagging or pressure. Communication to tweak the proposal, no matter how many times I changed my mind, felt patient and kind. I was incredibly impressed by the crew who showed up to do the work. The lead guy, Matt, took the time to go through every line on the proposal to make sure we were on the same page, for which I can't thank him enough. (I wish more people would take this 10 minutes to save hours worth of dashed expectations and frustration on both ends!) He walked around the property with me and listened to me, which put me at ease that he cared about even our little yard and my goals for it. Based on our discussion, Matt even had a last-minute suggestion that was an improvement on our first plan. (He could have just let it be, but he cared enough to put his best idea forward and it ended up working out perfectly. How cool is that?) It was a pleasure to meet each and every one of the crew. There was smiling and teamwork and brainstorming and troubleshooting, and there was NO cussing, spitting, peeing in my yard, nor smoking within my sight (and no cigarette butts to clean up afterwards!) All really valuable to FAMILIES WITH KIDS! They spoke to me respectfully and double-checked anything questionable. I was especially impressed that, even though they ran into a bear of a stump to grind, everyone maintained their professional attitudes. (I hope you know what a positive impression the demonstration of your good work ethic made on our kids!) I can’t comment on the longevity of the work yet, but so far the new plants are still alive and everything still looks nice :) Above and beyond my expectations. Even when I had to take extra time to make our final payment, Rachel’s communication skills were excellent. We've already referred you to a friend. We're grateful. Looking forward to the next project.

Ok, initially. The ended up bringing the wrong stepping stones and had to leave and come back. We still have some issues with one of the stepping stones. One of the owners/POCs came out after the job was completed to assess the situation, but we never heard anything back from them. Tried calling the office several times to fix these problems, but again, no response. Also, the sod was not installed appropriately (still had very tight netting around it) and some of the patches never took root and died. I had to reseed and start again. Very disappointing.

The stepping stones that were installed were the exact stones specified in the signed off contract, which was exactly what our crew has installed. As for the sod, every single sod farm has the netting on the underside, there is no way around this. The new sod was laid and installed to industry standards in the most appropriate way possible. The reason for the areas not taking or dying is probably due to the fact the area of sod was all of 100sf in the center of a middle group townhouse with dogs. We let this client know to keep any foot traffic, dogs and any animal urine off the new sod or it will most likely brown out and die. Advise not heeded. Our office and management staff attempted to reach out multiple times to remedy these situations without any response from owner. Did all we could to assist and help. Everything went great! Edward's was in contact with my husband within 24 hours of purchasing their offered deal to figure out a date and time to come out and perform the service. Once scheduled, everything went according to plan and our lawn was well aerated throughout. (The neighborhood kids thought a bunch of cicadas hatched!) With the recent rain, the water drained very well and we look forward to having a lush and beautiful lawn once Spring decided to stick around.

We signed up for a contract. It was one of the eight visits in a year for fertilization and pest control. I don't know the quality of work yet. The only issue I had was communication. They are young and they are working things out, but there were times when I felt like some communication was in a circles. Their communication could be clearer. For quality of their service, it will be an on going thing and so, it is too soon to tell.

Sadly, it did not go well. I am very disappointed with the results and even more with the attitude of the provider (Edward's Lawn and Home LLC). The service was performed in October due to weather delays first and then other commitments of the provider. I was supposed to meet the technician at the site but just in case we agreed that I would leave the check for the service in my mail box. When I came home I found the check still in the box so I called the provider to check what happened. I was told the service was performed as agreed upon with the extra seed of a high quality used to reseed. It took a close inspection of the lawn to see that at least some aeration was indeed done but it seemed pretty shallow and really hard to see on the grassy areas. Some of the bare spots were showing seeds but the application was uneven while some other areas close to my house foundation, and also the portion between the street and the sidewalk, were showing no signs of reseeding. When I called Edward's Lawn again I spoke with the technician (Drew) who did the application and was told he did what had to be done. I was reminded to water the lawn and watch for the signs of growth. I watered the lawn every day but only after about four weeks I saw the first growth. It was spotty with a lot of bare surface between the clumps of the new growth. I called the office several times before I was finally able to speak with a female employee who promised to have the technician inspect the application at the site. That never happened. Once the warm weather started the only reseeded area that was showing growth developed a strange yellowish color. I started calling the office again but each time I called there was a busy signal. Finally yesterday (March 24, 2016) I got lucky and was able to leave a message. Perhaps because I threatened to finally write my review comments on Angie's website, the same technician called me today. He started giving me a ton of reasons why the grass is not growing such as "there something wrong with soil", "there was too much mulch left on the ground after a tree removal", " you probably did not follow the watering instructions" etc. etc. He was borderline rude and would not let me finish my sentences. off He refused to come to inspect the results unless I pay $99 to redo the treatment. At this point I had enough and ended the conversation.

Mr. [Member Name Removed] purchased our $99 aeration and seeding special in early October 2015. He chose the option to upgrade and add a starter fertilizer for the price of $52.95. We scheduled the service for mid-October, but needed to reschedule due to several rain storms that came through the area to ensure that product was not going to wash away. When further rescheduling the job to the end of October, it was requested that Mr. [Member Name Removed] were to leave a check on the door for the remaining fertilizer cost in which he agreed to do so. On arrival at Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s property, the crew approached the door to leave an invoice and noticed that there was no check present. It was decided to leave an invoice and complete the aeration service as requested, using more than 50lbs of premium 3 way tall fescue grass seed and the correct rate of fertilizer. In doing so we noticed that the front yard was extremely hard and full of wood chips resulting in shallow cores. To counter this, extra seed was added to the front yard. After all of the rain that came through previously, it was a concern as to why the ground was still very hard. This was noted on file during the service in case later discussion was needed. A couple of days later, Mr. [Member Name Removed] called in stating that we forgot to pick up the check. This was immediately resolved and it was decided that he was to send in the check by mail. We explained to Mr. [Member Name Removed] that we put down extra seed in the front yard and instructed him to water his lawn every morning for the next four weeks. At this point in time, Mr. [Member Name Removed] was very satisfied with the job and no complaints were brought to our attention. Two weeks later Mr. [Member Name Removed] called the office leaving a message stating that he does not see any germination of seed anywhere throughout the lawn and that we need to re-service the yard. At that time our Division Manager drove out to the property to take a look and saw that some of the seed was coming up in certain spots in the front yard as well as all over the back yard. We then immediately called Mr. [Member Name Removed] to explain to him that we did see germination in some spots of the yard. We also explained that it takes some time for the seed to germinate, up to 3 to 4 weeks especially when it is getting colder at night. I advised him to make sure that he is watering each morning and to follow up if anything does not change. He agreed and left the conversation neutrally satisfied. We do not hear from Mr. [Member Name Removed] again until 4 months later when he recently called in and left a message stating that he is upset about the service and will be leaving a negative comment on Angie’s List. We immediately called him to see what was going on. Mr. [Member Name Removed] expressed his frustration stating that no seed germinated in the yard and that he was not happy with the service from last fall and that our product is awful and not premium. We explained to him that last fall we had an amazing germination rate of over 95% with our premium tall fescue seed. To diagnose what happened, we first asked him if he had kept up with the watering every day. After service is completed, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the yard is watered daily. Mr. [Member Name Removed] declared that he did water sufficiently and that our seed is just bad. At this point of the diagnostic, we mentioned to him about the front yard being so hard and full of wood chips. He responded by stating that there was a tree removed in the front yard prior to our aeration and seeding visit. He said that there was also soil brought in previously prior to the tree being removed as well. I told him that the tree being removed may have caused issues in the soil with the hardness and the wood chip mulch being left as-is after the tree removal, made it difficult to penetrate the soil. I further explained that in order to solve the issue in the front yard, you need to bring in leafgro/topsoil to amend everything before seeding again. I explained to Mr. [Member Name Removed] that we would not be able to redo the service from the fall in the same manner, however I would bring in the top soil/leafgro and spread it at no charge if he to do the $99 aeration price. The cost of topsoil/leafgro to amend this front yard would be well above the $99 cost. Mr. [Member Name Removed] was furious that we would even consider charging him again and that we offer a horrible service with bad products. we explained to him that he can try using other services to complete the same job, but he will get the same result every time unless he fixes the soil issue in the front yard. Mr. [Member Name Removed] then stated that at this point there is nothing more to say and hung up the phone. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and customer service. We truly went above and beyond to assist with this individual. We made all the necessary suggestions and performed all the services he requested. Disappointed in this review as we feel does not reflect our level of routine service at all.

Edward's Lawn showed up exactly when they said they would, and the guys worked very hard to extract the tree roots. They put new sod in and gave me instructions for watering (daily). I thought they might have been written out, but they were verbal. They also suggested a winter fertilization. When I called to schedule that, I was given a slightly altered watering schedule (three times a week). We had the fertilization treatment done, and kept up the watering through the month. So far, six weeks on, the lawn looks beautiful. We are pleased with the work, and with the responsiveness of the company. They sent a thank you after the bill was paid.
Description of Work: We had our front lawn replaced with new sod. Although it is not a large front yard, we'd had a tree removed in the spring, thought all the roots had been taken out, but they hadn't and they were spreading rapidly so they had to be removed as well.

They arrived on time and performed the service as described. We also signed on for an additional service, for them to fertilize. We left a check for them that they have not yet picked up. Also, I would like for them to follow up with me about a monthly payment system to have them return for next year and provide fertilizing and weed prevention system for next season.
