Working with this company helped to make a bad situation bearable. We thought we had a small amount of water seepage at our rental property and it turned out we had significant water AND hazardous mold growth. All of this within days of our tenants hoping to take occupancy of the unit. Budget waterproofing was able to provide me with an estimate within 24 hours of my call and begin work the following day. The crew arrived early to the work site (such a great surprise) and finished within the allotted time frame. The house was left clean and 100% mold free. His work is guaranteed so we feel great knowing our current and future tenants will never have to deal with this again.

Work was done very professionally, exceptionally clean work and cleanup. All work areas were kept clear of living area with very plastic sheeting put up to keep the living area free of dust. Only one issue that I'm sure Bill will address--just an oversight by the techs. The bedroom closet floor tiles were removed, but the work was not completed in the closet. What a great company ! Estimate was done quickly and professionally and I received a great verbal briefing on the necessary steps recommended. I really liked the lifetime guarantee that was transferable to a new owner. I thought the estimated price was very fair. I would not have hesitated to have Budget do the work, but unfortunately another house buyer bought the house.
Description of Work: Budget provided me an estimate of the costs of waterproofing a home listed on the MLS that I intended to make an offer on. The home had standing water in the basement and some mold issues. It was obvious that water seepage was a problem based on 5 smail sump pumps at various locations in the basement.

Two workers showed up at the appointed time. They went to great lengths to ensure the area remained clean. They worked quickly & efficiently and had the old concrete opened, the pit dug, pit liner & pump installed and piped through the foundation wall to the outside in a matter of a few hours. Cleanup was quite thorough, when they were done you wouldn't have known they had been there had it not been for the newly installed sump pump. Due to some heavy rains in the weeks since we have been able to see the sump pump at work and so far it has performed flawlessly. Great job!
Description of Work: Installed sump pump pit, pump, and drain pipe to outside. Price was as expected and seems to be the average for this job.

I was skeptical about how it was going to go, because another waterproofing company estimated us at $13,000! Anyway, the technician was knowledgeable, and explained what he was going to do. They did the work in short order without disturbing much of our things in the basement, including the toilet. They just went around the perimeter of the room with the French drain. Since they have put it in, we have not had any flooding problems - including long heavy rains where the power went out.
Description of Work: They put in a bigger sump pump (by about double or triple) and French drains as well as enlarging the grate at the back door. All to prevent flooding of the basement.

The job went very well. The crew showed up on time, and clearly knew what they were doing. The work was well done, and was completed in 2.5 days, a little less than I was told. The clean up was satisfactory. And the system works so far, even in fairly heavy rain in June. The one minor complaint: I asked for a copy of their certificate of insurance and never received it.

I chose Budget Waterproofing because Bill (estimator) seemed very knowledgeable on situation and honest. He spoke at length on what was going on with the basement, and took the effort to check what TYPE of wall was in the basement. The other firms just assumed I have block walls, I have poured walls. He also noticed that I have wood panel walls that were in good condition and said that they can do it without removing the walls. I was surprised since the other firms that came by all said right away that all the walls need to be cut at least 2 feet up. However, it was not explained to me just how that would be done. The workers showed up a 1/2 hour earlier than the agreed time and got started right away. They came by a few times to update me on the progress. They were able to complete the work in a day and 1/2. (I have a 600ish sqft basement) When it was all done, everything looked like it was sealed up nicely. The worker did tell me that one wall was loose and will need to get reattached. I was fine with that. I was very happy with how quick things went and everything was nice and tidy when they were done. 6 months later, I am ready to install flooring. My flooring contractor was checking the walls and happened to push it all the way in and informed me that the perimeter drain was not sealed. The new cement goes right up to behind the interior wall, but right behind it is the unsealed open drain with gravel showing. I called Bill and he said it was installed that way to keep the walls intact. I had no idea it would result in an unsealed system. He assures me that it will not fail and that the only way it'd fail is if the sump pump failed. (which I took the effort to install a water-based backup sump pump system) So far, I've had no problems with the system. After a day of rain, water will drip into the sump pit and I know the system is working properly. But I don't know about years from now. Or under hurricane conditions. Also, the open drain allows extra moisture to seep into basement and against wood panel walls. So I'm uncertain about the integrity of the work long-term.
Description of Work: Installed the perimeter drain for my basement and connect it to the existing sump pit. Replaced sump pump with new.

Installation went well. I used them to assist with waterproofing my basement during a full gut job of my house. They did not seem to get along with my GC since the work was damaged during construction. They came out to repair the damage and my GC paid the additional cost. Almost a year later and no signs of water or mold in basement.

I previously gave this company a bad review on Angie's. I had no complaints until the spate of hurricanes last year. then i got water in my basement. when i called to report this the company was not responsive. after i filed my report here the owner called me and asked to inspect the work. he was very pleasant and will send someone out to see what the problem is. he told me that no company can guarantee 100% that water will not seep into a basement in extreme conditions like hurricanes and floods and i suspect that he may be right. had i not had any water in my basement and if i had gotten this responsiveness initially, and been told this at the start i would give them an A. i now would recommend them with the proviso that should there be a problem, the customer should immediately contact Robert to report it.

Everyond associated with Bugdet Waterproofing was kind, courteus, responsive and professional. I highly recommend them. They were sympathetic to our situation and responded immediatedly and did a very good job.
Description of Work: There was a small crack from the foundation line down to the floor in the inside of the house down the basement. It was so small we never noticed water seeping in becasue that was where we stored our beach blankets. However, we put out house on the market that day and were moving things around for the showings. That's when we noticed water on the floor. We found Budget Waterproofing on Angie's List and called the next morning. Bill came out that afternoon. He took his time to thourooughly explain their process which differed from some others we read about. Made sense to us so we hired him. The crew was out the following Thursday and did an excellent job.

I had Budget Waterproofers install "french drains" in part of the basement several years ago. This took care of the wet floor problem. But this fall I noticed black mold on one basement wall (in the untreated area). This time we did a complete mold abatement. Installed french drains in the remaining areas of the basement, plus moisture barriers on ALL the external walls. It took a full week to do the job. Afterwards, the drywall has to be redone on all those walls. (I had a carpenter do the drywall and I did the priming and painting.) However, it takes 6 weeks for the cement to cure, where the drains were installed. If I had realized how long it would take to get back to normal I might have only done the walls and not those drains, since I had not seen any water on the floor. This was a huge project -- but I now have a nice dry basement. Solved the mice & bugs problem as well.

They completed the job in the time frame they say they would. Small miscommunication resulted in them coming back a few days later, to finish a few hour task. It was a big job, and things could have gotten very dirty. They did a nice job of cleaning things up. We had to clean our stuff in the basement to get the fine dust off of it, but given the amount of cement they had to break up/haul away, it was not much. One thing that we probably should have talked about was turning off the furnace for a few days. It blew dust up into the first floor. Again, not a major issue. The team was nice, respectful of our stuff, and overall did a very good job. We are happy with the work.

I first had another estimate done by a company that had a lot of recommendations on Angie's list. The estimate was over $5,000. They had proposed to to make the drain system a little longer than Budget recommended, and also wanted to replace the sump pump, even though the existing sump pump was still working. I got a second estimate from Budget. Eric came out to my home and did an inspection. He did not recommend replacing the sump pump as it was still working. I really appreciated his honesty. They were able to start/finish the job in one day, and everything was done very neatly and cleaned up afterwards. The work was done about ten days before the Hurricane, and I had no water problems at all. Overall, I would highly recommend them.

The crew arrived as scheduled. The owner estimated it would be finished in one day, but it actually took a day and a half as they also redid my outside drain. I am extremely pleased with theresult of their work.
Description of Work: We had water in our basement after every rain. The owner inspected our basement and recomended a procedure that I had not thought of. The crew worked as scheduled and cleaned up when they were finished. I anxiously awaited the effects of hurricane Sandy which poured water everywhere, but not a drop in our basement. This company is highly recommended, both for quality of work and price. William Akers, Windsor Mill, MD

Hurricane IRENE and Tropical storm LEE caused significant flooding in my basement. I called BUDGET WATERPROOFING for an estimate. Bill, the estimator and Manager of BW came to the house and provided factual information regarding the solution to the water problem along with a cost and time to complete estimate. The estimate was for removing the existing concrete, digging a trench and installing complete set of French drains around the perimeter (100?) of the basement, back-filling with gravel, re-cementing the trench, installing a Zoeller sump pump and cleaning up after the job. Four other waterproofing companies were also asked to provide estimates for correcting the problem. All five solutions were similar, though there were slightly differing methodologies involved. Budget Waterproofing provided one of the lowest proposals, while two others were somewhat higher and one was way out of the ball park. BW was chosen based on (1) Angie?s list reviews and the overall rating of A, (2) The Better Business Bureau rating of A+, (3) the schedule to complete and (4) the proposal cost. The service from this company was excellent. Dave and Tim, the individuals that performed the service, were very professional in their approach and extremely polite and caring for our property. Their job was very physical and exhausting; however they always managed a smile when we crossed paths during the three day job. The cleanup process was as described in the proposal. We were very pleased with the finished product and would definitely recommend the company. While the work described above was completed In Nov 2011, There has been no appreciable amount of snow over the winter nor enough rainfall to test the system, so this report is being submitted in June 2012 after a major storm with 10 tornadoes and a significant amount of rainfall.

I saw Budget on Angies list and decided to give them a call. The sales person was having some family issues and ended up canceling our appointment 2 times. I was thinking about going with another company but I decided to stick it out. When the sales guy came he explained everything (which i had already heard before). He gave me a great deal and was able to start the next week. It took them 2 days to complete the work but each day there were different guys working in my house. That was the only negative thing about the experience. They had budget waterproofing shirts on so I dont think the were subcontractors but I'm not sure. Overall, they provided a speedy service at a great price. I'm so glad to have it completed, now I can finish my basment.

I called in October for an estimate. They provided the cheapest bid. The work could not be completed until a month later because they were backed up. The date agreed upon was November 15th. I received no confirmation call from them the day before the installation and was concerned that they would not come since no one showed up at 8::00 ( the time the salesman gave me). I called the company and they assured me that workers were on the way. Once the workers arrived, the project manager introduced himself and told me to come to him if I had any questions at all. He was sure the job could be finished in one day. I have a house that was built in 1945 without a sump pump. They had to remove concrete along three walls and install piping. The noise was deafening at times but they worked diligently. By 4:30 p.m. the entire job was completed. They were neat and professional. They took all debris away. I had no problems and It was a good experience. After the recent heavy rains, I was really glad the sump pump was installed. I would recommend them to others.
