They were great. After contacting two other companies and not getting much, if any response, I was amazed that these people were out the same day. Tom checked out my system, made sure it was working properly, explained what had happened and provided me with some suggestions for improvements to my system. Will definitely use this company again.

From the initial estimate to the final installation, every thing went well. I felt very comfortable working with these people. Professionals all the way. The job took 3 days. The first crew arrived at 9:00am sharp on day one with all work completed on the third day as promised.

It went fine. I found this company through the sellers of my condo unit and signed up for my own annual HVAC maintenance plan back in 2006. Each year, I have my HVAC system checked and tuned up, and each year I experience great service from knowledgeable and professional employees. My actual experience varies based on the personality of the service men who come out to my place each spring or summer. Most times, I get HVAC maintenance tips and/or detailed explanations of what's going on during the service call, plus a detailed (yellow) service order/invoice. This year, the person who came out (Tom) was not very communicative, so I'm not sure if he did everything that's typically done; his notes were just as brief as he was, so no help there either. Also, I received a (pink) work order rather than the typical service order/invoice, so again, I'm not sure that I got a complete tune-up this year. For this reason, I gave AC&H a B for quality based on just this visit; if based on my experience with them during 2006-2009, I would give them an A for quality. Overall, I have had no problems with the company, so I'll just go on faith that my HVAC system is fine this year, as Tom stated. I do plan to renew my annual membership and would recommend the company to anyone, based on my previous experience during 2006-2009. I am glad to see that it has received the Angie's List Super Service award in the HVAC category several times in a row. This gives me confidence that I can hire AC&H for actual repairs, should (heaven forbid) my HVAC system break down in the future.

Job was for my mother-in-law who is 83. Contacted the company for an estimate after checking with Angie's list and requested they send someone with a lot of experience because the home was almost 100 years old and other contractors insisted the existing exhaust and duct system was not up to handling current furnances and that all new duct work needed to be run to every room in the house, the exhaust flu could not be used under todays code and I wanted the existing duct system to be used becuase my mother-in-law had been using it for fifty years with no complaints with heating. They sent Henry Yox and he was great. Not like the other contractor I called. Henty listened to what I wanted and he figured a way to use the old duct work and to properly and safely exhaust the furnance and hot water heater, which passed city inspection. Dealing with Henry was like dealing with an old friend. In fact, Henry attempted to see if he could find a 93% efficient unit that would cost about the same as the 95% efficiency unit after the Fed. Gov. 30% credit so my mother-in-law did not have to pay more and wait until next year to receive the credit. The 93% unit does not qualify for the credit. The workmen sent were young, but very efficient, organized and worked hard with little or no breaks and were very careful not to damage anything and cleaned up as they went along. They tested the furnance and exhaust before completing the job.

I placed an emergency call on July 4. I immediately received a call back and was told that the earliest I could be given an appointment was on the following Tuesday, June 6, and to call that morning to see what time. When I called this morning, I was told that they do not service the Middle River area, despite their website and their listing on Angie's list saying that they service all of Baltimore County. In reality, there is only about a 15 mile distance between their site and my home, so I am not sure if the lady on the phone was mistaken. Overall, the experience was disheartening, as I had been counting on that appointment for today since the weather is over 100 degrees, instead I had to start over and call around to other companies.

Overall a very good job. Estimate was one of the lowest for the same units priced though other companies. Equipment was properly installed and passed county inspection easily. Only two complaints, both minor. Estimate was for 1-2 days and it took 3 days. Also, the workman left a few tools and materials at the site when finished.

We didn't realize there had been a problem until it started leaking into our bedroom ceiling. When we investigated, there was water in the air ducts. The repairperson found a clogged outflow in the drain pan, which was backing water up into the ducts. He cleared the drain and showed my husband how to do some preventive maintenance (which no one had ever showed him before). He also did the routine annual service on the outside unit. He was polite, efficient, well-spoken, clean, and prompt, and explained each step before he took it, including the cost. I would definitely hire this company again.

I placed a call to schedule service on our AC. It was blowing hot air and would not cool the house. I was given an appointment for a few days later and was told I could call the evening before to get a time frame for the repair. I ended up calling the morning of the appointment (approx 10 am) and was told that it would still be at least an hour or so because the service man was in Annapolis. About 3-4 hours later I got a call stating that he was on his way. He came and asked me some questions about what was wrong. He then went outside, I did not follow him out there. Maybe 15-20 mins later, he came back in and told me that it needed freon and that he had filled the unit. He then asked me if I had this problem before at which I replied "every year". He then suggested that there was a leak of some sort and asked me if I considered having it repaired? I told him that we actually needed both the heating and the AC replaced. He talked to me about specials, tax credits, etc. and went out to his truck to write up a quote. He came back with the quote and answered a few questions for me. The repair man was nice enough and seemed like he was a professional. The problem came a few days later when I decided to call and schedule the work. I was told that the fees quoted were incorrect and that the service man should have known better. I was told that the Service Mang would give me a call with correct quotes, which he did. There was a huge difference in the prices. My husband and I feel like this was a case of bait and switch because there were no apologies for the incorrect info. No excuse was given for this error and he acted as if it was no big deal. The difference was over $1000. I think the "whatever" attitude made us feel that we can not trust this company. We will not be using them for our Heating/ AC unit replacement. For us, confidence in a company is essential. With the experience we had, that is not possible for us.

The day before Thanksgiving I realized the heater was not working. Arundel Heating and Cooling responded quickly to my call, provided and estimate to fix and discussed options to replace, were able to come Friday morning to replace. Felt no pressure to buy expensive items I did not need.

This company replaced two nonfunctional heat pumps in my house with two Carrier infinity systems. I was very insistent on what I wanted (low price + BGE, Carrier & tax credit rebates). I wanted a discount on purchasing two systems and they obliged with a 5% discount on the two systems combined. They also gave me two $1000 instant rebates for the Carrier coolcash spring rebate program and I also asked that they take the two $400 BGE rebates off before I signed teh contract. They did this also, bringing the total out-of-pocket expense down from over $13k to just above $10k. This does not include the 1500 tax credit. All for 16.5SEER 8.5HSPF heat pumps that are rated higher than most. I had 6 other estimates & only one of them was lower by about 200 dollars for the pre-rebate/credit estimate, but my out-of-pocket expenses were one of the major factors for me so I went with Arundel since they agreed to take off the carrier rebates & BGE rebates before I signed the contract. The installation seemed to be done OK. They had to work in 6" deep mud after the snow melting & rain we had. The pads they put down to put the heat pumps on are crooked and the feet are as well, but I am pretty confident I can correct that myself. The air handlers were installed very nicely inside the house though. The plumbing & wiring was run nicely & well done. The thermostats were installed & I am not sure if they are working properly. One of them seems to be reading a higher inside temperature than I would think is correct, but I haven't definitively determined if this is true yet. Either way I am not worried, if I have a problem I will contact them about this minor issue. I would definitely recommend this company. If you are looking for the best price on a Carrier system, contact them & tell them what you want. Brian will work with you to get you the best price.

The tech was very polite and worked quickly. He was informative of my HVAC system (just purchased the home). I watched him clean the electric air filter, which prob hadn't been done for years. The filter was quite dirty and I watched the tech apply a chemical to the air filter, which he said helps to break up the built-on dust. I asked him if it was something I should purchase and he said I did not need it if I keep the filter clean. After he finished checking the unit, cleaning the filter, and discussing hte system with me, he said that the product he used on the filter would cost extra and my bill was not the $99.00 I had expected to pay, but I instead owed $199!!! I explained my concern of not being told of the price difference, and my unhappiness with this. He very kindly suggested whom I should speak with at his company. I telephoned the company and was placed on hold for a few minutes while the individual I was speaking with telephoned the tech. He returned on the phone with me and told me my bill would be $99.00. Goodbye. That's it. There was no: oh, sorry about that... it's our policy to notify customers first... nothing! Just, okay, you only owe what we told you that you would owe. Again, tech was professional and kind throughout the transaction. Then on Wednesday I receive a phone call from AA Heat/Cool asking how their service was. On a scale of 1 to 3, 3 means needing improvement how did we do. I said 3. She asks: needing improvement? I said yes. She asks why and I tell her about the situation. Then she proceeds to ARGUE WITH ME about why am I unhappy with them when I ended up paying the $99 anyway. Because it's poor customer service to try to throw in an unexpected charge, hoping that people will just pay it and never apologize along the way for doing it! She was seriously arguing with me! Wow. I will not use this co again.

We liked that it was easy to schedule and they came out promptly and they did the work. They were professional and explained everything that they did after they finished and there were no surprises. They did quality work and the price was fair. As an added benefit, my mother in-law had the outside heat pump part replaced but not the inner lower unit and several weeks after they did the work, she had a problem with her air-conditioning system. She called them and they were out within 20 minutes of the call. They found that the problem had nothing to do with the work they did, but they fixed it promptly and that was amazing.

They came out promptly. They were easy to schedule. They did the work. The were very professional. They explained there work after they were done. There were no surprises. The price was very fair.

We had used Arundel in the past for electrical work so we knew they did good work. They arrived earlier then I thought they would. They worked fast and were funny, joking with my husband and I. Even though there was some confusion about the location of the electrical line to be taken care of (it was in a crawl space) they jumped right into getting the work done.

The guy from Arundel confirmed what we thought that the boiler was fine and didn't really need servicing. He cleaned what he could and explained what he thought the inspector was looking at as a defect was perfectly fine.

The entire process went well. I found Arundel Cooling to be a very professional group of people. They were very honest and "up front" regarding the estimate - had no surprises. Both the estimator and the installation crew arrived when they said they would. The installation went smoothly, and Arundel Cooling did precisely what they said the would do. The quality of the installation seems to be very good - no complaints. The installers cleaned up after themselves totally - left the area spotless. Note that the price I listed includes two $400 rebates - without those rebates, the cost would have been about $6000. The estimator/sales representative was "low pressure" - friendly and informative, but not pushy. One thing I particularly appreciated was that the sales/estimator guy showed up on the same day as the installers did. He didn't stay for the whole installation - was no need, but with so many home contractors, you deal with the sales guy to close the deal, but then can never reach him again. The Arundel Cooling sales/estimator guy introduced the installers, and ensured he, they and I were all "on the same page" regarding what was to be done. The county inspector has looked at the installation and said the installation was done very well - and pointed out a few nice touches that I would not have noticed - like elevating the fan coil a bit so that it would be clear of light snow in the winter. The installed unit has been working flawlessly. It is remarkably quiet, cools the house well, and the thermostat timer features are saving me money.

Arundel came out on Monday and had the part in by Wednesday. We only went without A/C for two and a half days. They were very responsive.

Our system was functioning, but 20 years old. I had four companies submit proposals. I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the staff, sales and office and service. The product (Carrier) was well presented, and the price was very good. The installation team was thorough and courteous, and answered all my questions. Even the packet of material that was left with me after the installation was very complete; someone had really thought it through. As a side note, a neighbor from down the street saw the service trucks and came down to offer an unsolicited testimonial - he has had installation and service from this company for years, and been very happy. Nice confirmation!
