I pick the afternoon service on the schedule. Serviceman arrived close to 5, but set about working on the unit in short order. Checked the thermostat and the ground unit and its parts, change the filters and advised me on issues that could be problematic in the future. This guy -- Josh -- I'd ask back again simply on work ethic --- even going past 5:00 to complete my work (I'm retired, but I know 5:00 is magic time). Thank you Arundel Cooling!

Their service was excellent. They were very good and were here on time. Their price was reasonable. The young man was very, very good.

HORRIBLE!! Our appointment was for an arrival time of 830-900 am. At 930, after no phone call, we called the main office and the person on the phone pulled up the GPS for the technician and said he was close. The technician did not arrive until 945-950 am. After 2 minutes into the service he told us we needed our inner coil cleaned and that it was going to be $139 to have this done. I said wait a minute, that is listed on the services included for what I already paid for. He told me that because chemicals were used there had to be a charge for the service, I showed him my printed out voucher and said something needed to be done. He walked outside to call the office, meantime I am already running late for an appointment I had scheduled because he was so late so I called the office myself. After talking with someone, I believe the owner, and explained the situation he put me on hold to find out what had happened. I handed the phone to my husband so I could make it to my appointment which I was 15 mins late for. The owner came back and said that the cleaning service would be covered with our voucher - I have yet to pull up the deal on here to see if it was a typo on their end or not. The technician flat out told my husband he was now going to be set back an hour for the rest of his day because of the cleaning...okay first off it was on the voucher so it should have been planned for. Second, if you were not almost an hour late from the latest estimated arrival you would not be running so far behind. While I am on my way back home from my appointment, now close to 2 hours later, my husband tells me that he was told one of the pieces on our ac unit was about to "explode". Okay, that doesn't sound safe, so he asked the technician to write up the repairs that were needed as we were out of time and we knew they wouldn't be done that day. The technician was in the van writing up the repairs for 45 mins! Came inside, didn't discuss them with me and told me they would be emailed to me. Once I received the email the small paragraph of listed repairs was so short that I am wondering why it would have taken more than 5-10 mins to write up and there was no cost for the repairs. So the next morning I emailed the office asking for a quote on repairs. They quoted us $1548 to replace a capacitor and a fan motor....yeah that is more than most brand new units cost. When I asked for a detailed break down of the cost I was informed that they do not provide a break down of labor and parts cost for residential customer, that it was a flat rate, and that with the age of our unit and the cost of the repairs we should just replace it and they had financing available. When I mentioned that the cost seemed very high for two small parts I was told the motor was a special kind and was expensive to replace. Well, I know how a company can overcharge you and this was definitely the same situation. The motor that we need it a whooping $106 with free shipping. The capacitor is a whole $17 also with free shipping. So, parts are a totoal of $123....quoted repair cost was $1548!?!?!?! So what, you want to charge me over $1400 for labor?!?! Thankfully we know a very skilled electrician who offered to help us replace the capacitors, the motor we can do on our own, so long story short, CHECK your voucher and make sure they are not charging you for something that is already listed on there. If they quote you for repairs, double check the cost of things else where as clearly there are some serious issues with upcharging a customer. Bottom line....we will NEVER use this company again. The owner and office staff were very nice and friendly but the technician was a rude disaster and come on upcharging us more than 10x the cost of the parts?!?! No thank you! I almost did not write a review but based on the insane quote I felt it was needed.

Very well. Company came on time and was very professional. Most work did was just inspecting the inside and outside AC units and cleaning it a little bit rather than a more heavy duty actual tune up. However I was very pleased and they answered questions during the visit and suggested other things for maintenance.

I won't use / trust this company any more.

The electrician was very prompt, energetic and professional. All work done was top-rate. Electrician was very articulate and showed me all of the details of the problems he found and the resulting work.

They showed up on time. I showed him the problem rooms. Which I worked on for almost 8hrs and couldn't find the problem and they found it in two hours. Then I showed him the light and he fixed that in no time. All and all, great work and I would use them again.

We were having problems with one of our condensers running poorly. We had Arundel come out and do a full inspection. As we suspected, the unit was low on refrigerant so the gentleman refilled it. He was very friendly and actually enjoyed greeting my boisterous dogs. He arrived on time and was very professional.

The service technician, KEVIN THOMPSON, arrived within 20 minutes of the call-ahead from the main office. Upon arrival at our door: he introduced himself, extended his hand for a shake, advised me he'd be putting on shoe covers, and then asked permission to enter our home. Kevin inspected two AC units and accompanying hardware (thermostat, condenser, etc.). He advised me of each step of the inspection and educated me on how the whole HVAC system works. During the inspection, Kevin used a lot of common analogies so that I could understand technical information, which I appreciated. After the inspection, Kevin recommended a couple preventative maintenance techniques for both units, provided a thorough summary of his work, and asked if I had any questions. Overall, Kevin was an exceptional technician. It was evident that his training and expertise are in sync. He represented Arundel Cooling and Heating very well today. I'd like him to be recognized with his supervisor.

The scheduling process with Christie and Greg was pleasant and efficient. David arrived and is very, very good at what he does. He communicated professionally and patiently as he worked and I tagged along and asked questions. This was great! I was most interested in what is included in a 20-point AC provided by Arundel as compared to what I've had done over the years in both Maryland and Florida. David found a few things that need attention, but not urgently. Good to know, and I'll follow-up with Arundel. I am very pleased with this very thorough service and will recommend the company to others.

They made appt for day after calling, which was great.. All of my reg plugs in kitchen out because of GFI not working. Young man who showed up was professional, very pleasant and put on booties before entering condo. I know nothing about electric problems, so could have been ripped off. He checked to make sure not a wiring problem before starting. He thoroughly and thoughtfully explained problem before repairs. I am 68 yrs old and handicapped so am concerned who I let into my condo. I felt perfectly safe and and had complete confidence in the repair, the cost and the repairman. I definitely will call them again and recommend both Arundel Cooling Heating and Electrical and Angie's List to all of my neighbors and friends. Thank you Angie's List. Your subscription price more than paid for itself in just one repair. And I will be looking for a handyman, vent cleaning and everything else needed from your list. I know I will have peace of mind in who is sent.

I have used this company for years, for jobs both very large (over $10k) and small. The technicians are excellent--professional and knowledgeable, personable and punctual. They get an A+ rating from me. However, I recently experienced extremely rude and unprofessional interactions with the customer service staff, both via phone and e-mail. They get an F! When I would call or e-mail to request service or obtain an update on an ongoing project, I was repeatedly treated as though I were a major inconvenience, despite the fact that I was polite and undemanding, just requesting information. I experienced rude e-mail responses, exasperated tones from staff over the phone when I asked something they didn't know the answer to, and long delays between initial contact and a response. Trying to get past the customer service staff to the technicians was a real chore. I hate to say it but despite the excellent technical service this company provides, I won't use them again in the future because I just don't need the hassle of dealing with rude customer service staff. It's such an unpleasant experience dealing with them that I will just select another equally highly rated provider from Angie's List for my HVAC needs in the future.

My first contact was with Greg in the office. He was so personable and so nice that I immediately felt I would be in good hands. He arranged an appointment that suited my work schedule. On the day of the inspection, when I had been expecting the technician before 12:00, I was called by Jeannie to let me know that the technician had encountered a problem at his current appointment, and would be late. I called back about 1.5 hours later to ask for an update, and she said she was just getting ready to call me. She said the technician (Dave) was trying to repair the AC system at the previous appointment. She said I would receive a call when Dave was leaving the other home, which I did. While the appointment was not punctual, I certainly understand that emergencies happen, and they did their best to keep me informed of the delay. Dave was a most polite and knowledgeable young man. He was very patient with my questions, and I learned several good tips from him. He told me how to keep the compressor clean, and what signs to watch for that would indicate an incipient problem with the system. He did the most thorough inspection of my system that I have ever had, and I could not have been more pleased with his expertise and willingness to include me in the process. I was very reassured to know that my system is in excellent condition.

Doug was fantastic - was right on time and really busted his butt to finish our to do list. Very friendly and was just super impressed. Would use him again in a heart beat for any electrical needs at the house!

It went well. They were thorough and identified several issues that were corrected on the spot with the service. They also identified other potential issues that needed further work. However, I didn't feel that they were "looking" to find problems, but rather were very thorough in their process.

My electrician was excellent. I expected him to complete half off my list. He did that and more. He was so polite and professional. It was a pleasant surprise. His work was well done and he cleaned up after himself. Disposes of any materials without my request. Excellent service. This will be my go to electrical company from now on. The best!! I could not stop smiling to see how much was accomplished. Purchasing a new home can be overwhelming. My electrician made the transition a little easier. Thank you!!

Doug was fantastic. After a bit of confusion on the address - we were fixing a condo up and they went to our home address. But Doug was great and truly a champion regarding my wishy-washy requests.

Easy going, made me feel safe with my all electric house.

I got a $300 for an electrician a day service. They were supposed to work for 8 hours and that's what I paid for. Doug came in only at 9:20 and probably started working at around 9:45 after i explained what i wanted to be done. He said at around 3pm that his 8 hours ends at 4PM and that's how it works and if i needed more time it would be an extra $95 for every 30 minutes. Not sure how 9:20 - 4PM counts as 8 hours. Later he gave me a bill of $137 for 2 metal exterior 8b boxes, 20 ft of romex copper and 1 toggle switch. How can those cost $137? That's like a markup of $100. So I spent $437 plus I bought him lunch. Close to $450 for the work done in my opinion is outrageous. Doug was professional and courteous though. If not for that extra $137 and not honoring 8 hours I would have been happy and gave a raving review. Disappointed and will not use the service again.
