From start to finish it was on time. The crew was clean, courteous, and very professional. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: I had a very bad leak in a rental property of mine. AA Action came out the next day. Gave me several options and helped me to find the best and best of all best priced solution. The salesman was very honest and saved me thousands of dollars over what other waterproofers had suggested.

The inspector that first came out to give us the free estimate was Very knowledgeable and put us at ease. He explained in detail everything instead of just trying to rush us into signing a contract. We picked this company out of the 3 other estimates we had gotten. They weren't the cheapest of them but we felt we would be getting the most quality for what we were paying. The work was beautifully done. The crew was very polite and made sure all my belongings were kept clean in the process.
Description of Work: They installed a waterproofing system in my basement with a sump pump and a battery powered back up in case the power goes out. The battery powered back up was free as advertised on Angies List too. That right there saved me over a grand. Also installed a drain in my stairwell.

They were very professional and efficient. Showed up on time, did exactly what they said they would and finished when they said they would. I had made the mistake of getting work done in the past by unlicensed contractors because they were cheaper. Glad I didn't make the same mistake twice. Have had rain a few times since they did the work but finally my basement has stayed dry! The piece of mind was well worth the cost.

Overall, I was satisfied with the work this company provided. Their price wasn't the cheapest of all the estimates I collected but the inspector seemed more seasoned than the others I met with. Also, They were able to offer me no interest financing which made doing this project possible. I wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. No issues with water since they installed the drain tile about 4 months ago.

I had these guys do a waterproofing system in my basement. They broke down the concrete running along the wall in the course of two days and laid drainage pipes. Instead of doing a wrap around my oil tank, which was what I was told they would do, they tunneled underneath and pushed the pipe through. If that was a hot spot for leakage, that would probably be an issue, but fortunately that side of the basement is pretty dry. When they were trying to leave on day three, I was fortunately working from home because they didn't do several items that were on the contract. They did not seal up cracks and they did not remove mold infected drywall, both items were on the contract. They also said they would check my existing drainage system to ensure they could cover it. They said the water's not coming in, so it must be working. They said they would close up a doorway in the basement, and would do it for $200 dollars to encourage me to close the deal at the contract signing. The guy took literally all day and mortared up a wire into the wall without so much as asking me about it. Now I have water seeping under the doorway they bricked up and the two times I call they say their service center will call me back. Two calls to their main number and over a week later, and still no call back. Update: Got a call back from the owner, Richard Carpenter, and it seems my telephone number was wrong on the contract. I am feeling a little bit better about them not getting back to me, though there was a second number on the contract as well. He said he would put drainage under the bricked up door and look at the pipe that was supposed to be blocked up under the door. Update: They came and extended the mirror drainage across the space where the doorway was. The floor is finally starting to dry in that spot, so I am happy for now. I will see how things go next big rain.
Description of Work: Installation of basement waterproofing system with two pumps and a battery backup. Also bricked up a door I was having closed up in the process of removing an old deteriorating concrete stairwell. Had some seepage behind the bricked up wall, and they came back to extend the mirror drain over the area behind the bricked up wall.

I called the office to schedule an appointment and the woman there was very helpful and able to get someone out to see me the very next day. They were also able to begin work with less than a weeks notice. From beginning to end I was just so comfortable and pleased. The basement is huge, they installed a drain system around the entire perimeter as well as 2 sump pumps. They were very conscientiousness of keeping the mess to a minimum- and when they were done the area looked so much cleaner than I ever expected. When someone jackhammers the floor you assume there's going to be dirt and debris everywhere, but they had tarps down and they cleaned afterwards as well. The crew was courteous and patient with me in answering the questions I had before and after they finished the work. The office was very quick in getting my warranty to me which has a lifetime guarantee! It was a pleasure working with AA Action Waterproofing, I would recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to deal with high pressure sales tactics, and dishonest companies.
Description of Work: After my father passed I inherited his home. The basement had flooded numerous times and he had tried unsuccessfully to fix it himself a couple of times. I decided to get it taken care of once and for all after I had water coming in yet again a few weeks ago. I got several different quotes, but decided to go with this company because their customer service was exceptional and they seemed to be the only honest and up front ones out of the bunch.

The inspector Allan was helpful with identifying the problem and explaining different options of how to fit. Unlike the other company's I had out to the property, he was pretty straight forward with what needed to be done. Another thing I liked was that he didn't hassle me to sign the contract on the spot. When you are spending this kind of money, you like to have time to think things over. The office staff was very helpful with answering any questions I had. I even called them on a Saturday and they were more than happy to help me. This pleased me because I got the feeling that if I ever had issues, I would be able to reach someone. When the work began, the foreman (I forget his name) introduced him self before getting started. The work was loud but that is to be expected with work of this nature. After they finished the installation, the foreman walked through the basement with me to make sure everything was up to my expectations. I had a good experience overall. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for an honest low pressure estimate.

I've been dealing with water coming into my basement after rainfall for as long as I've owned my house. I knew that foundation repair is no cheap process so I kept putting it off. I seen their ad in a Valpak I got in the mail and it had a coupon so I figured I would see what they had to say. The inspector they sent out to my property was very helpful. He "dumbed down" the technical details for me so I could understand exactly what was going on and how they could fix it. I got another estimate before making my final decision. I decided to go with this company because they had a better BBB score and because they were able to offer me financing. As far as the installation itself, the crew did a great job. They were able to control the concrete dust better than I expected. Overall, I am pleased with the work I received from this company. We have had a a heavy rain and a snow storm since they have fixed my basement and NO WATER yet!

Went very well overall. They were so good, I don't have much to add other than to say that the worst part was the noise from the jackhammer - yes jackhammer - breaking up my basement floor for the perimeter pipe.
Description of Work: Company installed a sump pump in my basement. They did an excellent job. The work involved digging a trench in our basement around the inside perimeter and installing piped and gravel leading to a pump sunk in a corner of the basement. It has worked like a charm. They were neat and careful about removing the dust and the rubble in our basement. I would highly recommend them

From beginning to end I was extremely impressed by this company. I have had what I thought was a minor water problem in my basement for a while. After the hurricane I discovered I had a SEVERE water problem. There was water everywhere! I immediately went online and got a few different companies to come give me an estimate. 2 of the companies I called refused to come out until I was finished getting the other estimates.Well that was rediculous so I just crossed them off of my list. Another company gave me a very very overpriced estimate, while another gave me a rather low estimate stating that he just needed to keep his crew working so I had to hurry and sign the contract. Then I was harassed via telephone multiple times everyday by themI do not like being swindled or overly pressured by salespeople- which I'm sure most other homeowners would agree with me. I decided to go with Action Waterproofing because what they proposed made the most sense and was a reasonable price. Also, each time I called to ask a question they were very gracious and were able to quickly find me the answer I needed. The crew showed up on time, and immediately got to work. They were very polite and tried to be as tidy as possible given the fact that my whole basement was pretty much being torn out. The work took almost 4 days, which was exactly within the time frame I was quoted. Even after the work was completed, the support staff was attentive to my silly requests even typing up a letter that explained everything that they did. I am looking at another property to purchase and will definitely be calling Action Waterproofing to inspect the basement for me first! I would certainly recommend this company to my family and friends. Thank you

I was having issues with water coming into my basement during heavy rains. I had a similar problem with a property I previously owned so I had an idea of what to expect. I called four companies and I collected estimates from three of them. (The forth one never got back to me. I guess I wasn't important to them.) I decided to go with AA Action Waterproofing, Inc for a couple of reasons but the thing that really impressed me about the company was the inspector they sent. I liked that they didn't just send out a salesman with a tape measure. He was very professional. Unlike the other companies, he proposed a few different solutions to my problem and took the time to explain each approach. You could tell he has been doing this for awhile. I had to work so I was not home during the installation. However, my son was present and said they were professional. They showed up on time, etc. The work took two days to complete. The quality of the work was just as the inspector described during the inspection and I was pleased with how tidy they were able to keep the basement.

It was quite expensive. So far, I haven't had a water problem since the did it. They weren't the neatest workers in the world but I felt that they did an adequate job. The guy that came was very good. He was very knowledgeable. Out of the three that I interviewed, on the way he described what he would do, he was ahead of all of them hands down. He came in and diagnosed the problem. He told me what he was going to do but his worker were not as good as he was. They did an adequate job but I expected better workmanship. Compared to all of the others that I had, his was a little higher but it was the way that the owner presented it to me and what they could do and what he recommended was the reason that I chose them. I liked what he recommended better than the others.

The crew showed up on time and completed the job in 3 days as promised. The workers were excellent AFA the installation & clean-up. More importantly, the system was put to the test during the recent SuperStorm Sandy: No flooding...for that matter, no water at all in the basement! Their price was competitive... Expensive (a large basement...185 ft), but worth it.

UPDATED VERSION: Our landlord got this company to waterproof the basement of our house, which was getting wet every time it rained. The company didn't finish the job in the agreed time, claiming that there was additional work necessary to break one of the walls they were supposed to break to build the trench. However, considering that they only worked 1:30 hours on the first day and an average of 4 hours in the others (from 10:30 AM to 3 PM), they could certainly finish the job ahead of schedule. Also, they didn't remove the deck, as their contract manager said they would do, claiming it was not necessary. After they finish the job, we started seeing some problems with their work. Although the waterproofing seemed to be working, a vent pipe appeared to have been broken (probably because of the vibration of the jackhammer) in the place where they had to dig the trench. My landlord called the project manager of the company to deal with the problem and he sent one of the guys that were on the job to evaluate the situation. This guy came and, at first, denied having broken the pipe (saying it was already broken before they started the job). Then, he said that pipe was "not necessary" and it didn't matter if it was broken or not. Finally, he said he had no authority to make any commitment about fixing the pipe before talking to the project manager. Also, he again claimed that removing the deck was not necessary to complete the job, despite the fact that his project manager said they would need to do it. On the next day, the crew came back to deal with the vent pipe. They went directly to the basement, without letting me know about it. There, they glued the broken pipe using PVC glue (on iron pipes) without properly connecting the two parts of the pipes. They clearly wanted to avoid having to break everything again to do proper work. Also, despite the fact I was at home at the time, they didn't let me know they were there in the basement and left without telling me what they did. I only found out they were there when, at the end of the day, I went to the basement to talk to another contractor I had there to do a different job. On August 29, 14 days after the work was completed and 8 days after my landlord first called the company to report these problems, the project manager came to the house to evaluate the situation. He said that they were avoiding having to remove the deck because it would be hard for them to match the color of the existing deck (which is very old) with new wood, so they tried to complete the work without having to remove it. Also, he said that since the pipe would have to go through the deck instead of below it, (because the deck's base is made of steel), it would look strange. However, as the landlord requested them to do it anyway, they completed the work on the same day and it just took a couple of hours. About the vent pipe, the project manager reinforced what was said by the person that first came to the house saying that it didn't look possible that the pipe was broken because of the vibration of the jackhammer. However, he said that he instructed his employee to to do something about it anyway in order to please his client and that was way he came back on the next day. Also, we had a plumber that we trust to come to the house and check the pipes. He said that, since it was a vent pipe and no water is supposed to go through it, the PVC glue would be enough to connect both parts of the broken pipe. He just needed to reinforced the structure a little bit, tying the pipe to the wall, but he said it would be fine the way it was. All in all, I can say that the waterproofing system installed in the basement seems to be working effectively (we have had plenty of rain since the work was performed). Also, considering the explanation by the project manager about why they didn't remove the deck in the first place and that the vent pipe will be okay the way it is, I am satisfied with the work that they did. However, those issues that I pointed out before were a bother and the fact that my landlord had to call the company several times to have everything the way he wanted was less than ideal. The job was completed satisfactorily on August 29, 2012, 16 days since it was first started (August 13, 2012).
Description of Work: - Waterproof the basement by digging a trench inside of the basement were the water would be guided to a pump, which would then get the water out of the house. - Remove and re-install part of the deck outside of the house where the pipe coming from the pump would dispose the water.

After discovering wet spots on the baseboard in my basement I contacted 3 different waterproofing companies to evaluate the problem. Upon reviewing all of the estimates, I decided to go with Action Waterproofing because they were the most informative and helped me to understand exactly what the issue was, even though they were not the cheapest estimate I had received (they were not the most expensive either). After signing the contract, the crew arrived bright and early just a few days later. The first thing they did was cover the floor leading through my home to the basement as well as set up plastic barriers to separate where the work was being completed from the rest of my home, which immediately set me at ease that they cared about the rest of my home too and not just the area they were working on. From there the very polite and hardworking crew kept me informed of every step of the entire project. Three days later the job was done and I was confident that my basement would be dry and free of mold, so that it would be safe for my kids to use their playroom again.
Description of Work: Action Waterproofing installed drains around the perimeter of my basement to control the water which was entering anytime it rained. They also removed and treated for mold contamination of my entire basement which had resulted from the water intrusion.

I had a leak in my basement that turned into a flooded basement. I called several contractors to look at the job. I was very impressed with the response time and the very professional gentleman that came to assess my problem not only was the price much better than what the other companies estimated AA Action was able to start the job right away. When the workers arrived they were friendly and took the time to explain what they were doing and gave me a timeline for completion. They were ahead of scheduale on the job and when they were finished my basement has never looked better. I would recommend this company to everyone. Thank you AA Action for a job above and beyond my expectations.

They told me they'd take care of everything as far as covering things or moving things and rushed me into hiring them. They broke some window sills and some panelling. It was a mess. They came in and made a total mess to my basement. I had to call in cleaning crews to clean up after them. The work itself, as far as waterproofing goes, is good, but they left a mess. They didn't cover the furniture like they said they would and just stacked it up haphazardly. What a mess they made. They didn't care about my home. They were smoking right by my door and it was coming into the home. It was just a total mess when they got done. The owner was very rude when I complained. He wouldn't come out to look at what they had done. He sent someone else to look at things and they said it was normal. If they'd told me that that kind of a mess was normal I'd never have hired them.
