Provider was very professional and spent a good amount of time going over everything - options, work that would be done and cost. Answered any questions that I had. I have not gone ahead with the work at this time but would not have any issues with hiring this company.

Quite a detailed assessment and very thorough analysis

Provider gave detailed drawings and instructions on curative as well as preventive measures we should consider. While we were told our job was too small for their company, they went the extra mile in making sure we were clear on the issues and how to resolve them. We were extremely pleased by the professional manner of the representative, their absolute punctuality and especially to their attention to detail. We felt they were genuinely concerned with our issue.

I waited a year to review this company just to make sure that things went well. I had a problem with water intrusion in my basement since I bought my house in 2012. I bought a basement inspection from AA Action so that I could get a detailed inspection. The representative Ron Coleman was very nice and did not try to pressure me into the most expensive job-usually basement guys are like used car salesman. I decided to have this company waterproof my basement. The day of the inspection the team arrived and were very professional. They covered up everything in my basement and cleaned up when they left. The only negative against them is that they did not remove some vinyl tile and those tiles are discontinued, I still have not replaced them. My wife went into labor while they were in the basement, so we had to go to the hospital. The company and technicians were very understanding and I made arrangements to pay a couple of days later. My daughter is about to celebrate her first birthday so we have made it four seasons-including an especially rainy late spring/early summer 2015-with no water intrusion. I will definitely recommend this very credible and excellent company to everyone.

We had chronic water issues in this area which led us to call AA Action Water Proofing. They were extremely responsive and able to fit us into their schedule within a week. The crew was hard working and courteous to our home - taking precautions for dust control, etc. Three months and a few rainstorms later we have a dry basement. There was one aspect of the project not done to our satisfaction and they came within a week to fix it. I'd use them again and recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Scheduling the appointment was fast, easy and efficient. I asked if I should get the Angie's List deal regarding the full inspection, and the woman on the phone stated not to do that yet, not unless the free check/estimate came back with any issues. I felt good about that, they weren't out to get money immediately. Angelo came out on time and was fantastic. He did a good check of our home and eased my mind that there were no issues and nothing that we needed to do, that it would be highly unlikely for our home to leak. I am a new mother and was very nervous about one particular area of our foundation, and Angelo put me at ease about it. I really appreciated the honestly and the lesson on what to look for in regard to mold and foundation issues. Top notch!

Lacy, Fondell and Chris were a terrific trio! They arrived on time and worked vigorously in spite of the hot weather. They were pleasant, extremely polite and their work was amazingly clean and tidy. They took time to explain the steps involved in the job and discussed options where appropriate.

The appointment went very well. The Senior Project Manager was on time, very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. I did not end up having an issue with any leaks but he made suggestions in case I wanted to take extra protective steps given the age of my house. I really appreciated his sincerity. i will definitely call if I have an issue in the future. Thank you!

I was in the middle of a basement remodel when it became clear that I needed to waterproof the basement. Since our foundation floor was now open due to plumbing work and we were getting a lot of rain, I needed drainage and sump pump installed quickly to avoid any damage to remodeling work that was underway. AA Action was very responsive and quick to come onsite for a quote. The estimate was competitive and they were able to start the work within 2 weeks. It took 3 days to cut/trench our concrete foundation around the inside of the basement, install drainage and sump pump, pass inspection, and pour new concrete. We were able to get back to our remodel job fairly quickly. The team was extremely professional and their work was high quality. Highly recommend them.

Everything was great from an inspection standpoint, the only reason for not a 100% positive review happened due to a miscommunication and lost contact with AA. They followed up after a review online and restored complete faith in their company.

Robert did a great job during the foundation inspection. He took a look at all the walls, educated me on what he was looking for and what he saw. We do have a slight moisture problem in one of the rooms in the basement. Robert educated me on the various options available and at no time did he try to force any of the products or services his company provides. In the future I do see us using AA Action waterproofing to fix our moisture problem along with ensuring our foundation stays strong for many years to come.

I have six foot wide concrete stairs leading down into my basement. During the heavy spring rains, my drain clogged and water and mud seeped under the door and into my basement. This company removed the concrete landing, sealed the clogged 2 inch line, and installed a large french drain box with a four inch outlet to a sump pump to extract the water from the stairs harmlessly out into the back yard via an underground line. The pump was tied into my whole house generator, in case there is a power failure. I am confident that I will never have a basement flood again. But equally important, I want to say a complimentary word about the employees in the company. From the owner, Richard, to the Office Manager Rhonda Plaine, to Mike and the team who performed the work, to the estimator, to the Quality Assurance officer who stopped by to check on the work progress--all were exceptionally professional.

We really appreciate his help and honesty and would definitely call him back if we have any future issues.

I cannot speak highly enough of this company. They did amazing work and went above and beyond to make sure our work was done properly. They jack-hammered out the basement and stairwell, installed the drain, and sump pump, performed mold/mildew prevention and lining in the trench then filled in with drain and poured the floor in. The floor looks great! It is flat and dried properly without any flaking or cracking. When the battery backup started giving me problems the day after they installed it (alarm stuck on for high water) they sent a guy out EARLY in the morning so I wasn't late to work and then when we got a bunch of rain and lost power while the battery backup was out for replacement that night they offered to rent us a generator to keep the pump running until the new part came in the next morning. I thought that was far more than could have been expected from them since it was not their fault the battery backup they installed was bad. The power came back before the generator was necessary but it was just such a great thing to offer. Just a incredible group of people who did a great job and cleaned up after the work and were super respectful of our house and property. We have seen more rain and storms this past July than we have all year and our basement is dry as can be all thanks to their wonderful work. We plan to use them again for crawl space work we need done.

The product functions exactly as intended, water no longer comes in my basement when it rains, and their work is guaranteed for life. So in the end, I'd still recommend them to others, but be sure to get every single thing in writing on the quote/contract before work begins. There was a significant gap in between what the person issuing the quotation promised and what the person showing up to do the work tried to deliver. It took a couple emails and phone calls to the company's owner to get what I was quoted to be actually accomplished. They either need to have the same person that quoted the work explain the scope to the on-site workers, or revise their contract forms to accommodate several other details for waterproofing jobs. I had to do a lot of babysitting to ensure I was receiving what I was paying for. Additionally, one of the workers tried to tie my sump pump discharge line at the immediate base of my downspout. Not only was that explicitly not what was discussed during my quotation, it is simply an industry-recognized bad practice, and yet the worker tried to convince me it wouldn't matter. Shortcuts like these make me nervous about what other corners they cut over the course of my french drain installation, but again, their warranty eased my concerns enough to get past it. Similarly, a staple gun was used to fasten protective plastic sheeting to the drywall in the rooms where the work was done. Rather than remove these staples individually upon completion, they just ripped the entire plastic sheeting from a single vantage point, putting shear stress on the staples, and ripping unnecessary chunks out of my drywall that I now have to patch. Finally, their initial attempt at "burying" a downspout line was to place a pipe in the dirt, and sprinkle dirt on top of it, to where the majority of the white pipe was still clearly visible. To their credit, someone returned to bury t he pipe properly, and they changed the tie-in point of the discharge line to a safe distance, but these are lazy shortcuts I wouldn't expect from a professional company in the first place, and for that reason I give them a B in quality and professionalism. Overall, they still get an A because they continued to work with me until I was happy, and the owner clearly cares about his company and the quality of service it provides, but there are some pretty easy areas of improvement when it comes to communicating and managing expectations with customers.

We recently moved in and were worried about some water and settlement issues in our basement. Paul provided excellent information and advice, and ultimately advised us not to do anything for the time being. We greatly appreciated his candor and honesty. AA Action was easy to deal with and Paul arrived on time and was very professional.

Kenneth from AA Action Waterproofing came right on time. He presented his ID and was dressed professionally. He was friendly and did an assessment of my house and LISTENED to exactly what had happened. He was able to diagnose the REAL problem quickly, and explained what needed to be repaired and why. Here is the most amazing part, he was HONEST and let me know that all I needed to do was to fix the chimney, thus we did not need his waterproofing service. Another company (not from Angie's List) came and said that I would need to dig up the entire side of the house four feet down, pull permits, put in a gravity drain, with concrete and gravel, and seal the whole foundation with big sheets. The cost - $6000 to over $10,000. I would highly recommend AA Action Waterproofing to give you an HONEST estimate, they will not up-sell you services you do not need. As a music teacher, I say, BRAVO to AA Action Waterproofing!

It went great. We had them do some other work for us. They came on time and were diligent about what they were doing. They told us what they were doing and gave us some options. We were happy with their services. They did use the better brand sub-pump, and back up pump. It was probably more expensive. They did a great job.

I must say A A Action deserves the As and all the accolades. I recently hired them to waterproof my free-standing garage, and due to an inadequate concrete slab to support my garage walls after the installation of a sump pump and drain, we had to suspend the work. Without hesitation, A A Action notified me of the dangers of continuing, restored the garage floor that they had taken up, and returned my deposit. Despite the fact that they had to make two extra trips to NW DC and despite >20 phone calls to determine the best way forward, A A Action remained responsive, accomodating and professional throughout the process. Though I was unable to work with them to complete this particular job due to issues with the garage structure, I will certainly be using them if additional waterproofing needs arise. A special shout out to the dynamic, courteous, and *extremely efficient* team of Lacey Jones, Fondell Proctor, and Joeseph Booz. I really enjoyed meeting those gentlemen, and hope to get to work with them in the future. Thanks also to Rhonda for her reliable and friendly correspondence throughout the process. I fully recommend these folks. A+++.

Everyone was prompt, kind, and ready to answer all of our questions. The price was quite reasonable. The foreman, Roli, and especially his main team, Elmer, Eliu, and Cristian, were great. They talked through possible alternative scenarios with my husband, changed work plans several times to accomodate our evolving understanding of the cause of the water in our basement, and worked long hours to complete the job quickly--our basement is a recording studio, and we were losing income every day by having it out of service. Rhonda in the main office was a dream. She knew about every aspect of the work scheduling, provided us with several different itemized bills for insurance companies, and calmly shifted gears on the price and billing of the job when we discovered that the gushing water was from a water main leak, rather than rising ground water. All in all, the gentlemen on the job itself and the leading lady of the office are all gems--I hope that their boss appreciates the great work that they do and the wonderful service which they provide to customers. It's the front-line employees who form the heart of a company. These folks were fabulous!

This review is a revision of my original "C" rating after my initial contact with the firm because the scheduling of their services did not adequately support my needs. Action Waterproofing must really watch their ratings, because my "C" rating got their immediate attention, and they contacted me the very next day to determine how they could meet my needs much more responsively. So I give the firm very high marks for caring about not meeting customer expectations, and taking immediate action to get the ball rolling. As a result, Action Waterproofing sent out within 48 hours their Service Manager, Bill, to take a look at the problem in advance of the inspection on July 29th, and offer several proposals to me about taking exploratory action. By the next day, I had a comprehensive written proposal by email, and after some minor changes the work was scheduled as soon as I returned from business out of town. The "action plan" was outstanding--bring in the exploration team to remove wallboard and insulation from the affected areas, and then have the technical expert inspector follow on. Bill and his team came promptly at 8AM, and worked efficiently and quickly to remove all the materials and expose the affected places by 8:30 AM. They cleaned up the entire area perfectly, and there was not a speck of material or insulation left behind. Just as they completed the work, Robert the inspector arrived, and began his technical evaluation. And I really mean very expert and very thorough; he was a walking encyclopedia on technical knowledge and information about mold, moisture, air quality, airborne particles, instrumentation, and the works. Within 48 hours, I received his report by email, and it is phenomenally complete! The cost of the remediation service was higher than I had expected, but their professionalism, attention to detail, eagerness to please me as a customer, and concrete report recommendations outweighed the cost.

After a brief meet & greet I guided Paul to the problem-area of my basement, which happened to be the laundry room. I provided minor background information on my home, then pointed-out the area that leaked days earlier. Soon after the inspection had begun, Paul realized the problem-area was above ground level and wasted no time heading for the back yard. Due to his expertise, Paul noticed a few plants had sprouted from the roof-top gutter connection. This could only indicate the gutters were overdue for cleaning. Paul then explained how leaves clog gutters, potentially causing excess water to leak between the two brick walls of my home; ultimately causing the unwanted water leakage in the basement. With heavy rain in the forecast for the following day, Paul strongly advised that I find a contractor to come out and clean my gutters. After taking Paul's advice, I'm happy to report I've had no more water leaks!

Representative was Mr. Paul Frederick. Mr. Frederick was punctual--arriving well within the 2 hour time frame given for the appointment. He was engaging, knowledgable and honest. He provided a variety of suggestions (about five) for taking care of the problem and counseled taking those measures before proceeding with any work by his company. I truly appreciated the professionalism and the absence of any kind of hard sell. It was an informative and very agreeable appointment and I feel that if I engage their services it will be for work that really needs to be done.

It went as expected. Professional and prompt.
