It could not ha e gone better. Jose was very responsive. The entire process could not have gone better. We had over 60 plants, include trees that needed to be relocated and six planting beds that needed to be tilled. Everything was planted with leafgro and then mulched beautifully. The team headed by Roberto was terrific. Extremely professional, very hard working, and a pleasure to work with. It was by far the best experience we have ever had working working on a landscaping project. Thank you Jose, Roberto and the rest of the team!

I am so pleased with Jose and his crew! The work they do is magnificent. I had contacted several companies prior to contacting Chavez Landscaping and the other companies never showed up. I contacted Jose on a Friday and he was at my house Saturday morning. I explained to him that I was having a family reunion on July 1 and I would like to have the work done by then. After explaining what I wanted done the crew was here on Monday morning. The crew worked the entire day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and everything they did was stunning and I am sure the remaining projects will be as impressive. I have talked to Jose and I plan on using them on several other projects later this year. I have had several other people requesting Chavez Landscaping’s phone number. I am sure they will be as pleased as I am.

Gave me an estimate, showed a few days later and did a great job.

This Company did a great job. They cleaned my yard, pulled weeds and dead flowers, mowed both the front and back yard; clean the weeks out of the seam in my driveway. It was an overall great experience with the work. The 2 young men doing the work were both personable and friendly.

The 3 men team showed up on the day appointed @ approx. 2pm. No particular time of day had been set. We again discussed the agenda & they got started. They cut, edged, & trimmed the grass. They pruned the 3 rose bushes & 2 evergreens (cedar trees). But, while doing the evergreens they had to use the manual clippers. And, in order to reach the top (& near the top) he needed a ladder or something so he used the riding lawn mower with the motor running & constantly blowing smoke. The mower was pushed up against my roses. And by the time he finished pruning the cedars my roses were approx. 95% dead. When I got a very good look at them, they really looked terrible. I called Mr. Jose Chavez & he finally returned my call. He said he would come by & trim the dead part off & if that didn't work he would replace them. As of 5/22 no one has come out yet. The team also replanted an azalea & a hydrangea & watered them. They weeded & re-mulched all flower beds, flowers, & shrubs. They bagged up all trash & took it with them. When finished, Mr. Chavez asked me to make the check out to Jose Chavez, which I did. This company really does good work; I've used them before. But, just make sure everything is to your satisfaction before you pay them because they probably will not come back to correct anything.

They were punctual and followed up if I was satisfied with their work.

Co. did great & made short work of the project. Finished in ~ half a day. Two men working, with rented Bobcat. I asked about additional work, and apparently they got busy with other projects, and didn't respond to emails & phone calls for a couple of weeks. I don't mind them being busy, but I did not appreciate zero comes with no response to my inquiries for additional work.

Company refused to contact me after leaving several voicemail messages. Angie's List refunded my money.

J&R Chavez Landscaping showed up on time with 5 workers to carry out 8 (prepaid) labor hours of cleanup that I paid for online at Angie's List. Mr. Chavez walked the property with me and was polite and accommodating. It appears that the company attempted to carry out most of my instructions (i.e. weeding, removing rose bushes, and of course removing leaves and other debris). The front of the property looks good. The back of the property looks better than it did before, but unfortunately I am disappointed with some of the cleanup. When I came home I found that there were still patches that had more than a few leaves, weeds, sticks, or other debris. I live on 0.1 acres of property. My expectations for 8 labor hours (and 5 workers) in such a small space is that they will have the time or manpower to thoroughly remove what I requested. If a crew runs out of time, I would expect them to work more than the prepaid hours for an additional hourly fee to complete the job. However, I never asked Mr. Chavez about this possibility because it never occurred to me that a professional crew might go over the allotted time. So it may be my fault that parts of the property look rushed. The left side of my back yard still has leaves scattered, some weeds in places, and some other debris. The right side is much cleaner, but has leftover plant debris lying next to the patio or pathway that absolutely should have been picked up. When I compare my backyard lawn to my neighbor, who did the cleanup himself, his property is noticeably cleaner. Lastly, the company agreed to remove/haul everything away for an additional $80 fee, which I agreed to pay. It was not until later that I saw on Angie's List that the company charged a different customer only $50 for the same service. Again, that is my fault for not doing my homework beforehand. But it's never nice to find out you overpaid.

No problems. Quick and all tasks were completed satisfactorily. I will use them again.

Mr. Chavez came out within two days of my purchasing the deal for six hours of leaf removal, and he and his crew were prompt, professional, and very thorough. I'm certain it was a bigger job than they expected, but they worked all day (three men for 7 1/2 hours) to complete the job, and removed a huge amount of leaves to dispose of them. A very positive experience and a customer-focused company. Highly recommend.

They arrived at 9 am and worked straight through to 5 pm. They did an amazing job and earned every dollar. We will definitely hire them again once spring comes.

Jose Chavez called me later that afternoon and asked if it was convenient for him to stop by on his way back to St. Mary's County from Huntingtown. Cool! When he arrived, we walked through the two areas I wanted him to take care of. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions about caring for the type of grass I have. He gave me a great estimate to complete the work, and assured me that if I wasn't pleased they would keep at it until I was. We scheduled Thursday afternoon. On Thursday afternoon, they hadn't arrived by 4:30PM, so I gave Jose a call to see if there was a problem. He was extremely apologetic and explained that, due to putting out a few unexpected fires throughout the day, they weren't able to come after all. He asked if they could come the next morning at 9:00AM. No problem. His team arrived at 8:15AM the next morning. The lead man checked in to announce their arrival and what they were there for. Then the 4-man team got busy. It was incredible to watch them work! They were so efficient. They also went above and beyond the work I'd requested, cutting, trimming, and blowing out my huge backyard and deck, as well as a large area around the side of the house. Though I didn't ask Jose about it, my feeling was that the extra work was his way of backing up his previous-day's apology with sincere action. It took them just under an hour to complete their work on a little less than an acre, and my property looked amazing when they were done. Jose called me right after they drove off to ask me if I was happy with the work. I mean, who does that??? I was beyond pleased. I asked for an invoice for my records, which I received by email. The amount due reflected the original estimate Jose had given, including the discount for being an Angie's List member. What can I say? Jose's price, quality of service, and commitment to customer satisfaction placed him head-and-shoulders above the competitor I'd previously hired. And, he more than made up not being able to keep the original appointment. I added these guys to my personal Contacts list. They will be my "go-to lawnscapers" whenever I need lawn care services. And I whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone needing such services.

He canalled and rescheduled an hour before the apt time. He was supposed to come the very next day but never showed or contacted me to cancel. Did not respond to messages about not showing up.

He did great work, was reasonably priced and reliable. I've already recommended him on our neighborhood site.

Mr. Chavez met me personally and walked the yard before offering a quote of $600. We negotiated and settled on $500, more than I'd anticipated spending. The land owner had had a friend do it for $200-$300 but it was probably in much better shape than what I was dealing with. We agreed on $500, no deposit, no paperwork. He arrived with his crew the next morning and were still working when our dog walker came around 12:30. Grass looked great when I got home, back gate was clean, the gypsy moths were gone but the poison oak vines remained. When I called and mentioned the vines he said his crew would come back and take care of them. Paperwork with details of the job might have helped that issue in case anything was missed as it was definitely a lot of work as the yard had gone neglected for at least several weeks by my guess. I highly recommend his services. It would have taken me at least a weekend to do what he and his crew accomplished in hours.
