The company did an excellent job of clearing the yard. An estimator came out earlier in the day to determine what could be done and gave good advice on whether or not I should have the front bed lines cut along my walkway (it slopes down toward the sidewalk). He advised against it due to runoff, I went ahead and did it, I should've of listened to him.. He was right. lol. Good call by the company. The work crew completed all of the work in the allotted time, I just had to provide the bags. A total of 12 yard waste bags were used to clear the yard. This was such a huge relief to get this work done. Other companies wanted to charge me $75 per bush for removal. The company's owner (I believe) came out after the work was done and gave an estimate for my back and front yard. I wanted to know about additional re-planting (new landscape), and in the back yard I wanted to extend my current patio. He had some bigger ideas than what I wanted for the patio, est at $10K. Scheduling the initial yard service was quick, however, he was supposed to have someone follow up with me on other planting options up front and back yard options, but no one ever called. Although I would've liked to receive a call back, the work the company did definitely overshadows the lack of follow up on the additional work. I am extremely happy with the work they did and the efficiency of the process.

They were horrible. They didn’t show up and I waited around for them all day Sunday.

owner joe gibbs was a no show for three scheduled appointments this year. when I called the office the other owner Sylvia stated into the phone"joe what do you want me to tell this f****** b****" joe has $200 of mine for this pre paid service for this years spring cleanup. I have only met in person one employee of this company. last spring johnathan came and completed my spring clean up. he did a great job. this company has a f rating with bbb. very dysfunctional program. as of last week mr gibbs reports he does not have the staffing to complete orders.

I paid half the money up front. They overbooked themselves and did not finish the job. I asked that the ground on the side of the house be leveled. They did not do that. They left a small portion of the front yard torn up during the winter. It looks bad. They left mulch in the driveway until we complained that we could not park properly. Joe Gibbs came last week to say that the hard winter had hurt the azaleas and he would replace them. He offered to finish the work but we declined.

Initally, we experienced some miscommunication scheduling the sevice. When the crew finally arrived to perform the work, they left before finishing the purchased Big Deal - Still owed me 2 additional hours of service. Unfortunately, the harsh weather we experienced this winter prevented the company from completing the service. I communicated with the owner , Joe Gibbs, on several occasions and we finally were able to agree on a time and date to complete the service. Joe personally came onsite to insure the work was completed and they even provided an additional 3 hours of service in addition to what I had contracted for. I would highly recommend Mulberry Bush Landscapes to friends and family. They were very professional in assuring that I was completely satisfied with the finished product.

They did a fine job. Arrived on time given the lousy weather schedule. Worked continuosly. Even my wife was real happy!

everything went fine, except the follow-up. I was told they would be in touch to discuss further work and I never heard back.

Difficult to schedule because they were so busy from the Angie's List Deal.

They cleaned up fall leaves fromt he yard and freshed the mulch in the beds.

It looked much better after the intensive clean-up.

UPDATE: I received a call from Mr. Joe Gibbs on May 2, 2014 to discuss my Angie's List review (below). He sort of offered to come out and replant the ground cover, but he couched it in "Well since you have sold the house there isn't much point," so I'm not sure the offer was sincere. He DID NOT offer to refund any of the money I paid, even the additional $200 for leaf removal that I should not have had to pay for under the Big Deal, let alone for the ground cover that completely failed. But the worst part was not his phone call, but the "pocket dial" a few minutes later back to my number. I did not answer this call and let it go to voicemail when I saw it was him calling again. When I listened to the voicemail, I realized he had pocket dialed me because he spent 56 seconds complaining about ME and my Angie's List review to a woman -- I assume it was someone back at his office or his spouse. I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED SOMETHING AS UNPROFESSIONAL AS THIS!!! Hence the further downgrade of my review. I purchased the "big deal" for leaf removal. The deal was deceptive from the start. It said it included removal, but the first thing Mr. Gibbs did was inform me that it didn't and tell me I would have to pay him up front for removal. I can't recall exactly how much it was, but it was somewhere between an additional $100 to $200 dollars on top of what I already paid for the deal ($199). The work ultimately performed was fine. I then contracted with him to plant ground cover on a back slope. This price was $2500. He required multiple payments for the work before he would perform it. He failed to leave me a final receipt for the work performed. The ground cover never took and ultimately all died out. A total waste of my money. The plantings must have been diseased to begin with, because he planted a ground cover that should have taken off in a single season.

He started quoting other projects and said that the lawn work wasn't that needed. He didnt seem interested in the Big Deal that I bought. It was just leaves and debree. I felt pressured.I think that they should have just done what I ordered.

The service was fine. They did what they promised. They were on time and completed the work in a timely fashion.

They're complete scam. I'm very unhappy with their work and very unhappy with the deal they had on Angie's List. The deal with Angie's List was actually criminal and the follow on service was substandard at best. My experience was less than very poor. The clean-up did not exist. The timeliness was terrible. The job they did when they followed the plan, they were professional; they did a good job. Most of the fence looked fine but the entire backstretch about half of the fence, did not built a board on board fence, they just put board on one side. The timeliness; they said the fence is going to be done in one week but it took over four months to build. I haven't talked about it in a year but it still aggravates me.

It took a long time for the owner to set up the appointment time. I'd bought the big deal (8 hours of yard work for $300), and it seemed to me that he was trying to fit my job in between other customers. He cancelled and rescheduled a few times before the crew came out. They crew was nice and hard working, but I did not like the owner of Mulberry. When he got to the site after the work was done, he said it would cost an extra $300 to have debris hauled away. It was a lot of money but I felt I had no choice. He asked me to write a check to him personally, not to Mulberry, for the hauling work. Then -- the huge pile of brush was NOT hauled away until the next day. I called him and complained. He said the brush wasn't doing any harm sitting there (!) and that he was waiting for a truck that was in the area to get a chance to swing by and pick up the brush. I said: but I paid a premium price to have this stuff taken away yesterday. He said again that it wasn't doing any harm sitting in my yard for a bit longer. It seemed to me that the owner had just picked my pocket for $300. He also said that he lost money on big deals and that he did it to build up customer good will. The crew was great and the work was done but I really didn't like the way the owner did business.

It worked out okay. The guy was he does this to get more business and get more money. He wanted me to sign a contract, where I pay $2,000 up front for forty hours of work. That was for yard work and landscaping. I knew that I had a choice. I told him that I was not going to sign a contract. They cut stuff that I told them not to cut. My husband likes to do that kind of stuff. There is a difference between cut and trim. In the end it grows back, so I am not going to be upset about it. My husband was not happy. He told me that they do not do clean-up without trimming. I told them that they could do a little bit. It all worked out in the end. He brought four guys in without checking with me. He responded fairly quickly. I would not use them again.

They were great - professional and thorough. We will keep their name handy when we need additional work.

I added on another hour of their work. They were very good. It was back breaking work and they really dug out the weeds. I was very happy with them.

My experience was very disappointing. He was supposed to send out 4 people, but only 3 showed up. They did work very hard, I will give them that. However, they did not speak English well so it was hard to communicate. The supervisor never showed up so it made it difficult to convey what I wanted done in my appointment. They also came later than I had agreed on and I did not get the full hours I was supposed to be getting.

I started initially with an Angie's list coupon for clean-up. From there, we talked through options for re-landscaping my front yard. I found the advice very helpful, low pressure, and we evolved the project. The end result has been a dramatic change to the appearance of my home. While the weather wasn't optimal and at times, work wasn't performed on the day I expected; however, it was not a time-sensitive project and the end result was worth the wait.

Our experience was not good at all. They didn't do a good job and they insulted my husband. My husband had trouble scheduling them. He called immediately after he bought it and it took him a couple of weeks to get through to them. We couldn't schedule with them, it was very hard. We had to keep calling them back. The service wasn't as expected. It wasn't satisfactory.

I wanted weeds to be removed and to have the yard treated so they wouldn’t come back. However weeds came back almost immediately. After I asked about the fabric barrier for my yard, they suggested to not install the fabric barrier. In hindsight I believe this may have done a better job at keeping the weeds at bay. Overall I was not happy with the outcome.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and they were okay. Sometimes they were a little difficult to get hold of and get the work scheduled. Once they came it was okay but it was not easy aligning schedules because they were a long way away. But they did the job and they certainly made it clear that this deal was to boost their business and help get more clients. They made it very clear that they don't make any money off this because it was so discounted. They tried to push me to buy additional services so they could come back and do additional stuff. I guess the work came out okay; it looks alright. My interaction with the provider was okay. I had to pay an additional $700 over the Big Deal price to purchase the materials.

We purchased a "deal" for 6 hours for $375. The provider was meant to come overseed and aerate. We called and made sure that they would be able to do both of these things before they came out. They were difficult to schedule with and when they showed up, they didn't have the machine needed to perform the aeration. They also did not have seed. The said that they would do 4 hours of work and come back later that week to finish the job. There was an additional fee for the rental of the machine, which they collected over the phone when scheduling the appointment. They did a decent enough job on the few leaves that had already fallen, the beds, mowing, and edging. When they were done, though, they left everything in a pile in front of the house even though I had communicated in advance that we are required to bag all of our lawn waste. We called and attempted to reschedule the aerating and seeding multiple times with no success. We finally gave up after the frost came in November. They never came to complete the work and never contacted us again. So, at the end of the day, they did average quality work for 4 hours, left a big pile of leaves and weeds on the front lawn that I had to bag myself, and charged me extra for a service they never performed.

The owner was clearly trying very hard to ensure we were happy. He was responsive within 12 hours to our first message and worked to set a date that suited us. On that day, he wound up losing an employee to a funeral so they ran a bit late getting to us, but he still got a really good person to our site within 2 hours of what we discussed. The guy he had there for the day did a terrific job. Asked good questions, was a hard worker, did everything correctly-not half baked. The yard looked amazing when he was done and I appreciated their efforts to come back and pick up the material, since there was so much of it, it was very hard for us to handle and get hauled away.
