A booking was made, but when a slot came up a couple of weeks earlier, I received a call and we were able to go ahead the same day. The crew of four people arrived on time, and completed the work of pruning, cutting back, and cleaning up as discussed. I was happy with the work.

It took many attempts to get a call back and several more to get our work scheduled. The work done was to clean up front landscaping beds and some clean up in the back as well. I think even with the package rate - it was overpriced.

We are very satisfied with the work. The crew was punctual, responsive and efficient. Two people handled the trees, another two handled the bushes and a third crew cleaned up and hauled away the cuttings. It was a big job and everything was completed in two hours, on time and for a reasonable fee. We communicated throughout the process to make sure that things were done correctly and truly made the most of the people available.

I could not be happier with the service Mulberry Bush Landscapes provided. I had purchased the big deal of eight man hours of landscaping/yard work and was contacted by Mr. Gibbs that same day. We set up a date for the four-man crew to arrive. They arrived at the scheduled time and worked steadily for two hours. I couldn't believe the amount of work that got done! The crew-lead Jonathan went over everything on my wish list and the work began. While the other members of the crew did the digging and planting Jonathan cleared the areas around our azaleas and trimmed them. I hadn't even requested that but am so thankful that he did it. They gathered up six large bags of weeds, roots and debris and left all the work areas looking great. I am very thankful for the work performed. I highly recommend Mulberry Bush Landscapes!

I bought the big deal on 9/1/13 and called Joe Gibbs to notify him that I had purchased the deal. I received a call back on 9/3/13. I talked to Mr. Gibbs on 9/4/13. He requested pictures of my lawn and asked that I send them along with the measurements because I wanted a new lawn put in. He recommended sod over seed and needed the measurements so that he could give me an estimate because he said that was not included in the $299. I sent pictures and measurements off on 9/5/13 and did not hear from him until 9/14 which was after I called Angie's List to complain. He promised to call back the afternoon of 9/14 to give me a time to come out on 9/15. It is 9/17 and I have not heard from Mr. Gibbs.

excellent. johnathon and his crew of three did a excellent job. I have had this service from another company every September for 20 years----this was the best results ever! I also saved about 1/3 of what I have paid in the past. I will definitely use them again in the spring.

The work was great both times. The crew was efficient and thorough. My yard looked fantastic afterward. The only problem was that I had asked for an estimate to do some additional work (involving drainage and a pathway on the side of the house) and it took a long time to get an estimate. After that, we never managed to schedule the work because I couldn't seem to nail down a time with them. I eventually just let it go rather than calling repeatedly to set something up so that was my choice.

Arrived on time with 10, rather than 8, workers, who started weeding the front garden. Another worker or two cut ivy from the bottom of a few trees and pulled climbing vines from them as well. At the end of 2 hours, the weeding and mulching had not been done, so we negotiated 2 more hours of work, at $50.00 per hour for 2 workers, a price that was extreme given that this is low education, not scientific, work. I paid it because the garden would have looked awful at that point if I quit them. However, at the end of 2 hours, they quit then leaving my lawn and walkways covered with dirt and other clippings. Later the owner of the company, Joe Gibbs, arrived with an employee. She cleaned my front walkway of the cited matter. Mr. Gibbs did discuss extensively what he felt our entire garden area needed to improve its condition.

Joe's team from Mulberry Bush Landscapes did a great job on my landscaping/yard work They weeded flower beds, pruned bushes, and laid the mulch which I provided. They dug up a Nandina that was pushing on the top railroad tie of a retaining wall and put the railroad tie back in place. They cleaned up the yard waste, bagged it, and set it out of sight for me to put out for Bowie waste pick up next Wednesday, the 18th. I am getting the house ready to sell and needed the extra help this time. I am very pleased with the work.

The guys were very nice but I was thrilled with the service. The leaf pick up was only partially completed when the supposed alloted time for the deal I purchased was up so 1/2 the backyard was left undone. They told me that they could complete the job on another day but that that would be an additional cost. As I recall they did not use leaf blowers, only rakes.

The landscape business appears and has been our experience full of excuses and confusion on day and times set for appointments. I paid for 8 hours and I Had 8 hours to fill in daytime hours. The man arriving said Well with 4 men we could get it done maybe in 2 hours. Excuse any typos dictated on phone.

Again services (due to my schedule) will be performed this month -- September 30.

It took them a while to get back to me. When he called me we set up appointment for 9 o’clock on the 7th. I verified the address. They called 20 to 9 said they would be here in a little bit and verified the address again. Called at 10 and asked where he was at. Said he couldn’t get a crew together. Another half hour went by and he showed up. He said they went to the wrong house and did the wrong yard. Crew pulls up in a van, no work truck or identification. It looked very unprofessional. We had a few minute consultation. Went outside and was specific in what I wanted. He proceeded to give good ideas. He then said that he doesn’t make money off AL deals. After everything was completed, he wanted $150 to get rid of the debris. So I said alright, and he wanted it made out to him personally and not to the company. So I did. I continued watching them work. He said he was going to move a bush where he cleaned the day lily’s out. He never moved the bush so there is a big bear spot in yard because he said he ran out of time. He wouldn’t finish because they went thru the 8 man hours. So he said he would come back and would have to schedule. Some friend comes up in a pick-up truck to haul away debris. Went to the back yard and all the weeds were still there. I even asked about the side and back yard, and he said he would get to it. Implied he would be back out to do it. I called and asked when he would come, he said they already provided the 8 man hours. I came home after a few days and there were 8 huge bags of trash, kind of tossed in my front yard, and all the weeds were gone. There is still big bare spot in my yard where he didn’t move the bush. He was also trying to get me to commit to spending $3500 on a design plan, so I asked for them. I got the impression he would send something to me, he never did. The last time I talked to him he said he wished he would have never done anything extra. When the work was done, everything was fine, but the trouble I had to go thru to get the work done was terrible.

Things went smoothly. Joe had a good team you did their work quickly and well. I paid for the work using a big deal.

The provider did not show up on the original date that was set, a new date was set...then the provider called and said they could come immediately. The weeds were pulled along with some plants.

I did not have any of the scheduling problems mentioned by other reviewers. The owner was persistent in reaching me to make an appointment, called to confirm the night before and called to let me know they were running late on the morning of. I bought a Big Deal for 6 man hours of landscaping for $300. They sent three people for two hours which was fine. The owner said he would arrive during the work to provide direction, but he arrived very near the end of the time frame, so there wasn't time to do anything else. I stated clearly when I made my appointment that I wanted my Japanese maple trimmed. I made that statement again, at least two more times when speaking with the owner. When the owner arrived the day of the job, he told me that it was not the proper time of the year to trim the maple. I think he should have told me this up front. The deal would have expired prior to the proper maple trimming time, so I would have used it either way. All in all, I don't think the Deal was worth what I spent. I was hoping to get some semi-skilled labor (and should have at what works out to be $50/hr). I got my bushes trimmed (nothing delicate or special), and they did an OK job, but I wouldn't use them again.

This went really well. We were overall satisfied with the cost and we would use this company again in the future.

It turned out okay. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad. I thought they did an okay job. My husband was not impressed at all. I like the guy that came over. It's a 15-minute consultation and he really spent like half an hour with us walking around our yard and talking about stuff. He was also clearly interested in generating additional work. They only got through part of what needed to be done which isn't really their fault that there was more than that amount of time of work to be done but then we never really heard back from them and also, we weren't really that impressed with what they did to say come on back and do more work.

We bought the 299 coupon for 8 hr work. It ended up being much more expensive to clean up the backyard than with other companies with no coupons. Not very professional workers. It took them twice the amount of time other companies have taken to clean up and mulch. They even charge extra for taking the garbage away.

Called several times over two months. Appointments were made three times with this company but no one ever showed or returned my calls.

I Purchased Angie's List coupon, $300 for 8-man hours of landscaping service. Scheduled a crew to come to the house at 9am on a Wednesday. Took off work to supervise the project (which was only light weeding and pruning of a few large shrubs and trees hauling away old pavers, cinderblocks, etc.). After waiting until 10am, the day of, I call the company to be told they'd be there at 10:45am. The crew arrived a little after 11:00am. When they arrived, I showed them the shrubs I wanted pruned. I asked how long he thought it would take for just the bushes, but he wasn't able to provide any estimate. While they were pruning they used all of my lawn refuse bags (14), then asked me if I wanted to buy more from them for a dollar each, even though they're 5 for $1.88 at Home Depot. I declined and asked that they just lay the remaining trimmings in a pile on the lawn so I can clean up later. They ended up filling my trash can to the brim with the trimmings, instead. In all, four bushes and two small trees took four guys 1.75 hours. These are the same bushes that have taken JUST me about that amount of time to prune. When they were finished, the lead guy notified me that there were only 15 minutes left on my "8 man hours" (15 minutes x 4 guys) per the coupon. There was nothing I could explain for them to do and have them completed in that short time, so I just let them go. After they left, I did a walkthrough and found that most of the bushes they pruned were left pretty shaggy with twigs and smaller branches poking out. Out of four bushes, I'd say one of them was pruned smoothly. I'm going to have to go back over the other three myself. Looking back, I can barely believe this work was worth $300, let alone the "$800 value" stated on the coupon. I should have just gotten a neighborhood kid to do it for $150. One thing they did do well was the edging around the bushes. Although, they also offered to mulch the area with their own (marked up) mulch. Ultimately, I did not feel comfortable with this crew in any sense, really. Thedid a poor quality job, took longer than I expected, and - in only two hours of being at my house - tried to gouge me on lawn bags and mulch. I'm going to end up doing just as much work myself as if I hadn't ever hired them. I very much recommend looking elsewhere for landscaping needs.

Very well. I would use them again for special projects, especially those that require someone who really knows local plants and trees, although for weekly lawn mowing we still have someone else do that due to price.

It did not go well. The provider was paid, and did not followup for nearly 2 months, despite my sending an email to set up and appointment. When he did, he said he wasn't sure what he could do for us. I asked that he come and give the promotional services as offered in Angies List. It took several weeks before he came out, then he wanted us to do a $10,000 landscape job, that frankly, we did not need, since our interest was to just find a credible lawn and landscape service first. We finally got him over with a crew, and the clean up was not done well. He asked again for a landscape job, and of course by then, we were too angry to consider anything. He called again months later. He had no idea how upset we were about the first encounter. This firm has very poor sensitivity to customer needs and wants, that is for certain.

The men he sent worked very hard. The only problem with buying a pre-paid coupon is that if the job is finished before the time is up then you have lost some of the money you paid. If the job takes longer than anticipated you have to pay them extra. The men were done with cutting out the roots in two and a half hours. I had a half hour left and didn't want them to start another job as I would have to pay them extra is the job took more than a half hour. I just sent them home with a half hour left on my coupon. The provider was very professional and gave me some good advice about gardening in general.
