Description of Work: The work involved Installing a TED1001 Energy Monitor, a new circuit breaker and an AC duplex outlet next to circuit breaker box. John, plus his helper (apprentice electrician) arrived promptly and explained each step of the work. To install the current transformers on the two AC feed cables to the circuit breaker box John needed to separate the heavy gauge cables slightly to provide the mechanical clearance - this took significant leverage. Everything installed fine and tested okay. I will definitely use R L Thompson electricians again for future electrical work.

+ 0 moreOverall it was great. I got estimates from a few other companies. One company was $100 cheaper but didn't have availability for another few weeks, all the other companies were a few hundred more expensive.
Description of Work: We had demolished a wall in our kitchen and needed an electrician to take out the existing outlets, relocated a light, add a new light switch, and make some adjustments to other outlets. We also discovered some things were wired improperly (like a dishwasher being on the same circuit breaker as outlets) and Thompson fixed this too. They had to crawl around in an 18" crawlspace to do some of this work on a hot day. They were pleasant, arrived on time, and swept up after themselves. I'd definitely use them again. There was about a week between getting their estimate and when they were available to do the work.

Description of Work: It has taken some time to response to Angie's List, but I wanted to share that the services provided were overwhelming superior to other companies I've used. The response for an estimate was timely and fair. In addition, the electrician performed the job with expertise and I felt confident the work was done properly. It has been over a year since the work was done and I'm happy to say there have been no problems or regrets.

+ -1 moreIt turned out just fine. They were able to come within a day or so. The charge was the same as the estimate. They gave us the estimate over the phone. It was exactly what they said it would be. They were very neat. They took the old fixture with them since we had asked them to. So they took it to dispose it off. They were quiet and polite. There were two of them because it was to be installed in a hallway that was like sixteen to eighteen feet up. They had to work on a ladder to put it in. It didn't take them personally very long. It was a young man and an older man that came out. The young man seemed to be learning because the older man was directing him on how to do things but he was very competent. It was obvious that he's had some training and experience but probably never experienced doing something like this. So he was up on the ladder doing the work. They told us that they would need to send two people since it involved climbing up the ladder for the installation. They were in and out of here, and you couldn't really tell that they had been here. They cleared up all the mess although there wasn't much. They fixed the chandelier and they were gone. They were very professional and they were in and out. We got several estimates and all the estimates were approximately the same. We would use their services again in the future.
