Description of Work: Brendan did a great job of not only pointing out issues during the home inspection, but also explaining to me what the problem was and how it might be remedied. He clearly had a lot of experience inspecting homes and was focused on providing a valuable service that included lots of explaining to me. He wasn't just checking boxes - he informing me as best he could what I could expect in purchasing the home and he was very thorough in his inspection. I would highly recommend him to anyone purchasing a home.

Description of Work: I purchased my home inspection through angie's list after reading the wonderful ratings. I was able to schedule the home inspection right away. |The inspector was there early. We took our time and we discussed everything. I learned a lot about how to take care of the home. I also have a very good idea of every leak and every issue I may run into in the future. I received my detailed copy of the inspection the very same day! AWESOME!

Description of Work: Needed to cancel the service at the last minute. The company cheerfully cancelled the day before the inspection was to have been held. I thought the transaction was very professionally handled.

Description of Work: Both good and bad. He was very thorough and explained the different systems and answered all questions to eleviate any concerns. However he did not think a lifted floor and bathroom floor that had apparent water damage was of any concern. I had to bring in contractors who noted a joist problem for the lifted floor and a removal of the bathroom subfloor and replacement.

Description of Work: Pro Spex is a top notch home inspection company that walks you through the entire process. I have purchased houses in three different states in the last 20 years and this company is the best.

Description of Work: I purchased the Silver Package that includes a home inspection and termite inspection. The home inspection went great; Chris, our inspector, arrived at the property early and was very friendly. He allowed us to shadow him during the inspection. The owner was able to accommodate our inspection request during a very busy week (Friday following Memorial Day). | |My only complaint is that Pro Spex contracts out with another vendor for terminate inspection (i.e., it is not done in house). There were serious communication problems between Pro Spex and the termite inspection company, which then resulted in poor communication between Pro Spex and the customer (me). First, the termite inspector did not show up during the appointment. Second, when I alerted Pro Spex of the problem, I was assured it would be resolved. It was a Friday morning and it was the last day of the home inspection contingency period for the property I wanted to purchase, and I informed Pro Spex as such. | |My real estate agent and I tried to get a some kind of response from Pro Spex about when the termite inspector would come out, but after 1 pm on Friday, we stopped hearing from Pro Spex. By 6 pm on Friday, I was starting to get concerned so I asked the sellers for permission to inspect first thing Monday. | |On Monday afternoon, I call Pro Spex for an update before deciding to go with a different company. Turns out the pest control company claims to have inspected the property and issued a report, but no one was alerted of this--not the sellers who are occupying the home, not the real estate agents (sellers agent or buyers agent), and certainly not the customer (me). A report was issued by the pest control company but there was no way of confirming whether an inspection took place. | |I understand that in all likelihood, the pest control vendor kept Pro Spex in the dark about when they would be out to the property. What is unacceptable, however, is that I in turn was not even given the courtesy of being told "I don't know but I am looking into it." Instead I got complete silence during a particularly stressful home buying/home inspection process. | |My honest recommendation is the following: Pro Spex is excellent for home inspections but save yourself the trouble and go to a pest control company directly; don't use a middleman. I learned my lesson.
